We applied for change of status from J1 to green card. We can’t afford lawyer and it seems like the poor are discriminated against in this regards.
We submitted all information 2 years ago. Followed up a RFE 11 months ago. Because the state department took 2 years to process adjustment of status, our application will soon he denied. It sucks because we did everything right to the best of our abilities and because the wasteful buerocratic state department can’t do their job my wife and mother of my child may be separated from us.
Again, we followed the law, meet the requirements, paid the fees, and filed the papers in a timely manner. So by no fault of our own, the government has terrorized me and my family to the point we may seek refugee in Mexico or go underground and live on the lamb.
