- Introducing the next evolution of the 90 Series - the 92XI. The 92XI brings the long-awaited frame mounted safety to the standard 92 family of products, as well as a single action only variant and various ergonomic enhancements. Featuring a flat trigger profile for consistent engagement, a lightweight skeletonized hammer, Vertec style frame built for comfort, heavily-checkered frame, fiber optic front sight for faster sight acquisition, and the option for MRDS optics mounting makes this a high performing, reliable choice for personal defense and competition.
Some where in a weapons locker, a 1911 met an M9, they became close, bonded over time and a few years later the 92x was born.
Thank goodness for that 🎉
They should have called it the 1992
@@even9463 I like that one. Another comment suggested the X was the Roman numeral for 11, so essentially we have the 9211?
@@erickyle5604 X by itself is 10, but since it's XI then yes, it's 11.
Safety, single action, shoulda had a straight back trigger pull....then for modernization a rotating barrel(PX4)
Lack of grip safety should make dropping the hammer easier..... there's an ammo store does videos, the guy dropping hammer on 1911 is hilarious
Being a 1911 guy since 79 I've discovered double action and decockers to be handy, and my 1911 has half cocked safety
Beretta has really been hitting it out of the park lately with innovative new models. The basic version of this is already selling for under $750
gotta make up for the loss of military sales
🤡
Um thats actually reasonable to most I see on shelf.
Still too much. Ill take an hk for that price
Answering a call that has been made in the early 90s is not innovation.
Beretta really stepping up,
Great to see them uplifting their products!
Love the 92, but let’s not pretend that Taurus hasn’t been making pretty much this exact pistol (on beretta machinery) for like 40 years 😂
Just got one. I love it! I shoot it better than every other pistol I have. I carry it a lot, limited sometimes by warm weather clothing choices, but anytime I can conceal it, it’s at my side. Beretta’s have never let me down. Carried several different 92’s and 96’s during a 27 year career as an LEO. Love this XI MUCHLY!
What's a LEO?
@@Revan8888 Latin for lion. He was a lion mean and lean. Now picture one with a pistol strapped on its flank.

It looks really nice.I like frame mounted safety Berettas a lot.👍👍
Almost got this firearm, looks nice, felt nice but ended up just buying the regular 92X. I wanted a modern take to the M9 I trained with in the Navy. Needless to say, I'm very happy.
I also have the 92X RDO and it's been amazing. I will say I prefer it better after switching out the barrel to a standard 4.9" and of course slapped some trijicon night sights and the G10 wraparound grips on it (fits my hand better than the vertec)
You made a good choice, the 92XI has a horrible trigger. The trigger reset is long and neither tactile or audible.
@Target I've heard the trigger was bad ..thanks 👍.
Better late than never. Looks excellent.
About 30 years
The frame mounted safety was the original design. Which is why the Taurus 92 has it. They kept the frame mounted safety instead of moving it to the slide
That's the one thing I like about the Taurus Beretta 92 clone over the m9/92 was the frame safety.
I got the Taurus pt99 for that reason. Plus it's SA/DA
It takes some Dremel work but my PT92 has a 92x trigger and Wilson Combat trigger bar. Shoots like a dream!
@@nofateaz It is interesting how some people like the Beretta trigger, and some like the more curved Taurus trigger. I took a PT92 trigger out of a Taurus and had it in an M9A1 for quite a while.
Just got my first beretta a 92G Elite compact LTT 🥰
You won’t be happy with any other Beretta now…
Good choice sir
I'm hoping Beretta innovates one day and gives us a special trigger that allows us to switch between frame mounted decockers and safety, similar to CZ's omega trigger. Ive been waiting for the removal of the slide mounted switch, but all of my guns have decockers. Saves you the time of unloading your gun to pull the hammer to a safe position.
I hope that one day they select some of their iconic pistols and make kits that are in different calibers for those pistols. Simple slide swap and mag swap. I'm a M92FS fan boy so I wouldn't mind buying a upper kit that shoots...say....25 ACP or something. I know there's the 22 LR kit but sometimes "something a little more odd" is niche.
id love to see this but grey with a threaded barrel
@@SCH292 I highly doubt they'll bring back .25 ACP as it's a very dated cartridge. I'd go with .380 you want a similar alternative, but I'm sure they'll do some parts in .22 eventually.
Man these gray berettas with wooden grip are so beaultiful, imagine if it was in nickel finish
It is actually a return to form. The very old Model 92s had frame mounted safties. The first version of the 92 to have a slide mounted is this one sitting on my desk here, the Model 92S. It was a request from law enforcment. Not sure why really. The Taurus pistols were modeled after the original 92, so they kept producing with frame mounted till this day. Anyway, if I have a chance, I am sure I will get one of these. Round out fo 92 collection...and just have a good handgun to shot.
They only made 5000 of the original Beretta 92, the first 1000 of the original Beretta 92 have a stepped slide
@Fred the 47th Oh yes, the committee gun decisions. Because a bunch of bureaucrats know what is best.
Those look so clean
Looks nice. I'd love to see a standard beretta 92, M9, 92X etc. with a frame mounted safety that's still a decocker and double/single action.
Yeah, I'd like a DA/SA in this configuration as well.
I used a 92 as my concealed carry for years - I always carried it with hammer down, decocker in the fire position. With the length of pull required in DA and the trigger guard entirely covered by holster, I am confident is not a safety hazard to carry in that condition.
(Beretta doesn’t even consider the decocker a safety - the manual never refers to it as such)
Agreed. I basically want a Taurus PT92 but with Beretta quality.
i LOVE single action pistals!!! lets keep single action alive!!!!
Long-time Beretta 92 fan. May have to purchase one of these even though I like my slide mounted safety.
Sweet! Im a beretta fan. I definitely want this one.
Love it! A version in black would be hard for me to resist!
I love everything Beretta
finally they caught up to Taurus with frame mounted safety....just like the Original 92...everything old is new again
Beautiful!! I want!!!
For a big guy like me this piece is perfect, and I like it.
Beautiful ❤
It’s so pretty
If you guys would make the new 380 cheetah in 9mm in that subcompact size. it would be the most amazing hit in the market without a doubt
They will..... In 21 yrs
@@I_name_All_my_guns lol
I bought a Taurus PT-92 several years ago and it has a frame mounted safety with a hammer drop as well.. couldn't pass it up for $400.
finally! a high quality taurus pt92!
I love the 92 and have several of them. Please make it in a 10mm!
This is tempting.👍
Speaking from the perspective of a person who has raised on 1911's And revolvers. Thank you.
Crazy🔥🔥
Dear Glock, this is how you offer something new to your line! Well done Beretta! Now I'm tempted to get one. Thank you for listening to your customers of putting a frame mounted safety!
Wait what?!?!?!
Glock is and has brought far more innovation to the gun world than Beretta can even fathom lol
@@jstud999 Not really. Beretta honestly isn't innovating here though. Frame mounted safety is nothing new, and making a single action version of a DA/SA gun is also nothing new.
I’m down. Will check it out asap, and maybe add it to my arsenal.
A nice crisp 4.5 lb ND. Awesome.
Oh nice to see that they release the Taurus pt92, I mean 92xi
I see a luxury foreign Taurus pt917. Awesome model. Hope it sells well
Love it
"XI" kinda reads like "11". As in the Roman numerals. The 92x does have very best factory trigger Ive ever handled compared to even my shadow2 (pre-CGW) or the top tier tanfoglios
Beretta is the best!
aaargh looking good
Would love to try it out
I'd LOVE to see a BERETTA PX4 STORM SUBCOMPACT GEN 2. 😎
Highly interested
Nice!
Beretta is 25 years behind the Taurus PT92.
They need to show the 96a3 real love to
that's a pretty little thing❤
kendo would be proud!
Perfect for a Samurai Edge build.
Was thinking the exact same thing
Buying one tomorrow afternoon with that exact intent! Only issue will be finding a black slide that's compatible. I don't think I wanna sandblast the slide and re-cerakote it, but that might be one of my only options.
Talked to the guy at DSGrips too, and he said it's possible to make the grips for this model too!
I still can't imagine how they use a 1915 design and keep updating it
1911 says hold my beer
@@MrApiiinr the 1911 wasn't updated though
Probably one of the best 92 version.
It will be interesting even the "brigadier" reinforced slide.
Personally I prefer closed light conventional slide.
Stainless steel, shorter barrel, fiber optic 1.5mm and light rail are positive aspects.
Shape of the trigger is nice, maybe the break point should be 2mm sooner, from the video.
SAO is best operating system for me.
A compact 4 inches model will be nice also.
Remove firing pin safety, no deckocker and keep minimalistic internal mechanics.
🇮🇹 Italy
Damn.. I should check this one out before buying the px4!
The hot new Samurai Edge
Need this in compact
Okay. I like it.
Crossed a 1911 and a 92x. Brilliant
The original 92 released in the 1970s had a frame mounted safety.
@@FoxtrotFleet indeed, but was DA/SA
Im rocking a 92a1 right now and I love it, but this new model looks very nice 🤔
I chose a TDA pistol for a reason and for that I prefer the decocker out of the way, on the slide.
Neverthesless, it seems that the majority of people who like Berettas but have less interest in the TDA manual or arms would have preferred if Beretta would have moved the safety/decocker to the frame but kept the double action, allowing the pistol to be carried in Condition 1 - following the 80X rather than the 1911. The optimization potential for the 92 trigger is the highest of the TDA pistols, but not quite at the 1911 level. Therefore, creating a TDA pistol that can be carried in Condition 1 would have had an advantage over 1911/2011s with the second strike capability.
That is a beautiful firearm. Needs to be more carry friendly
I’d love to see a px4 compact frame but with a standard size light rail and a px4 full size upper on it. Like a long slide px4 compact.
Beretta/WC 92G Centurion Tactical still my favorite of my bunch, so smooth.
I've been carrying a Wilson Combat/Beretta 92G Centurion as a duty weapon for years and a 92FS before that. Never had an issue with them. I'll wait and see what Wilson Combat does to it before purchasing.
I've got something that I've had since 1990 that's very similar to that in size and a frame mounted safety and for less than half the price it's called a Taurus PT 92 compact.
Imagine this exact beauty but in a compact 13+1 frame. 92xi compact.
Very nice. Now can we get an update for the PX4 Compact model?
I have a 92x I love it!! Can we get a compact now!! Preferably full grip short barrel.
beretta is going to put cz out of business. everything Beretta puts out is 100x better than even the "top tier" cz
Finally, aluminum with frame safety...how about a compact, maybe even 3.7, 3.4 barrel, and of course DA/SA w decocker? RMR cc or common footprint would be nice too. 26ish oz for carry and it's competitive.
Standard backstrap (Vertec profile is ugh!), SRT, Brigadier slide and LTT optics mount please. Love SAO frame mounted safety, thank you!
I wonder if the grip panels will be compatible with the 92x Performance. There are so few choices that having more models with that layout is good.
Outstanding! I hope you make a brigadier model and a 96!
We're in the minority, but a 96 version would be awesome!
I agree but tide isn't going well for 40 Cal
@@josephesquivel4066 Yeah we 40 lovers are down, but not out....Long live the 40!
This would be even better with the steel frame offered on the DA/SA competition gun or that gun with the same SAO trigger.
Beautiful pistol mine didn’t come with a optic plate. My staccato was the same way. You spend a nice amount of money just to be shorted a simple optic plate.
Gotta play the long game, rumor is that Holosun may be developing an optic that bolts straight to the pistol slide
We want a smaller 92 in 9mm the X compact is not small enough. Scale it down like everyone else is doing. I don’t care about a single action only I can get a 1911 for that which have very small options.
"We want a slim-line micro DA/SA pistol for carry" -everyone
"Naw we will give you something that was hot 10 years ago instead" -every firearm company
Unfortunately the short life of the Springfield XD-E shows we may be in the minority.
My ears hear 92 XI, while my mind reads 92 Eleven 😂
Now I imagine someone time-travels and takes one of these back to the 1986 U.S. military trial when they were looking for a new pistol to replace the 1911… 😅
I will be competing with this in the Limited Optics Division!!!
Is the SAO trigger good enough to justify switching from the Steel Frame 92?
Taurus did that years ago with the PT92
nice
That would make a superb carry gun, especially for the older 1911 crowd who carry SAO cocked 'n locked.
I will have to buy one...
I would personally prefer to actually use it at the range instead of carrying it around like its jewellery. each to their own i guess
why would you carry a single action as a carry gun? no offense, just genuinely asking as a new-comer to the firearms world
@@sumboredazn Much easier first trigger pull than Double Action only :)
I’d like a long slide with a long barrel. Like the ones in the Romeo Juliet movie, or Black Lagoon.
Beretta reselling the same design multiple times with minor improvements gives me a serious Glock vibes
Taking the de-cocker off for a safety is huge.
The Beretta platform needs a special trigger that allows you to remove a decocker for a safety and vice versa, similar to the CZ Omega trigger.
@@dillonc7955 you cant have both bud
Personally I like the (G model) slide mounted de-cocker with no safety.
Yeah a huge disappointment. Decocker is light years better than a safety
@@LiterallyGod The Taurus copy has a frame mounted safely and decocker.
If he sells one, maybe he can go buy a sportcoat that fits.
Lol😅
Looks like a lot of overtravel after the break (for a competition gun). My dream Beretta 80X with Decocker-only and the same 3.9" barrel, but make it threaded for suppressor fun. I want one in 32 as well. :)
It's not a competition gun, and that's not a lot of overtravel.
@@Osprey1994 At 0:18, the Beretta rep calls it an "entry level competition pistol"--an SAO gun with an extended mag-release can certainly be used for whatever, but I have no reason to believe he's lying. As for overtravel, I guess standards are relative. Tuh-may-toe, tuh-mah-toe.
I would like to see Beretta move toward better and more durable finishes like Melanite or what Smith and Wesson uses on their MP series. My MP looks like new with only slight holster wear. It's smooth as glass.
Me: "I want one."
My Wallet: "No."
Hermosa
Berreta 92Xi...??...it sounds and looks like a fancier and more luxurious version of the 92F
I do love the aesthetics tho.
Ive always wondered why you guys never made A 45ACP in the 92 platform???? Aswell Id love to see a Beretta 92x performance in A COMPACT SIZE. THANKS
Please make a Beretta 92X PERFORMANCE EDC or ALL-AROUND version with slide decocker/saftey switch.
Still waiting on my free mags when I bought the m9a4 last year
not sure why the company would show the launch edition, which is already sold out (and never coming back), instead of the standard two-tone version. lol
Wish they'd make a DA/SA with frame-mounted decocker. If I wanted to carry cocked and locked, sorry, I'm going with a double-stacked 1911.
Beretta will do anything to the 92 but make it compact
When are you guys gonna release the M9A4 non threaded barrel?
Damnit, why do they always have to have an ambi safety. I do like the optic cut, frame mounted safety and hopefully a good trigger. May look at trading my M17 in for this. I had a 92fs and a M9A3. I miss them both, two of the smoothest shooting production handguns out there.
Cool but are you guys working on an APX A1 Compact or were sales so bad on the FS that you won’t bother?
