Stats didn't matter as much last year because the regular season Ravens were so good Lamar was sitting out the 4th quarter every other game. Just like he's done a few games this year even. Josh Allen has won 4 games with a sub 100 passer rating while Lamar is about to set the all time record for rating in the season. It shouldn't even be a discussion but too many people want it to be Allen based entirely on feels.
Bills fans think that they can cry and get there QB a MVP just like they cried about the OT rules and got them changed when they lost to the Chiefs in the (13 sec) Playoff game, when one year prior they voted against the rule change when the Chiefs tried to change them after Mahomes vs Brady in the AFC championship OT game... Bills will cry 😭
@@AV14522 wrong. Ravens have one of the worst offensive lines in the league. Lamar has taken nine more sacks than Allen, and he also leads the league with avoided sacks. Over 30
Wait but you prove the point. Lamar won MVP without anyone and it was because he was so valuable to a team with nothing extraordinary. Now he has Derrick Henry and an impressive defense. Josh Allen doesn’t have a defense, and nothing extraordinary as far weapons. Ergo MVP.
Well the opponent score is completely irrelevant when it comes to this vote. But that's a lot of points in 11 days. Especially when you throw that up next to my Steelers 😅
Lets put something into perspective: Lamar currently has the 2nd highest passer rating in NFL history with 1 game left. The ravens are still among the top 15 teams in dropped passes. Imagine if they were NOT! Lamar would have the highest passer rating in the NFL already and would have close to 5k passing yards and 45+ TDS. You're only good as the teammates that's around you.. A lot of HOF QBs were throwing the ball to other HOF recievers.
Crazy. Then Imagine if Lamar didn't get to pass against the most box heavy defenses, to two receivers who lead the league in getting separation. Then Lamar would probably be near top 5 in passer rating this year, no where near the single season record. Perspective is a great tool.
@@RageDaug so your blaming other teams now? 😆 I'm talking about lamars teammates kid. Lamar has no control on how another team plays against them but he has control on who he throws to. You mad lamar got the #2 highest PR in history's and could get #1 vs the browns? Not bad for a RB huh? 😆

@117Chief930 Lamar has been consistently better and played his best against THE best. Not a single person hinted that Josh was the best player on the field the night the Bills played the Ravens.
Lamar is throwing against the heaviest boxes of any playoff team because of Henry, his WRs lead the league in separation at .5 and Josh's WRs are 3rd to last in separation. You gotta focus on passer rating to muddy the data bc if you looked at QBR Josh's is higher. How does Josh have a higher qbr but not passer rating? Lamar has a better passer rating when Derrick Henry is off the field! He has 12 more TD passes than Allen, he plays in the AFC NORTH. He beat the Bills ass 38-10. Allen looked like trash. Best passer rating in the NFL by far. (Every QB who has had a passer rating of 120+ has won the MVP. This race isn’t even close. Lamar should be the MVP. Look at the teams Allen has beaten! Nobody!Except the Chiefs and an awful Detroit defense! SOV for the Bills: 462. SOV for the Ravens: 539. (That is the highest in the NFL.) This is the easiest choice in history.
People wanna keep saying Henry is the reason Lamar shouldn’t win the MVP. No disrespect to the king but when he was on the titans last year they only managed to eek out 6 wins. Lamar is the difference maker, and he’s been the difference maker ever since he stepped foot on a Pop Warner field.
False he went to an already playoff contention ravens. Lamar isn’t the reason it’s the entire team. His receivers get the most separation IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE. Seems pretty easy to pass the ball to open targets while also having a HOF rb taking making it difficult to defensively stop them as a WHOLE
@ why do you think they can get so open? Couldn’t possibly be because Lamar is an absolute menace in the pocket and can extend plays like no other QB could dream of.
If Saquon breaks Dickerson’s record he should get the MVP. If Saquon breaks the record and doesn’t win then we really just need to call the MVP award the best QB award. The Dickerson record is iconic.
The eagles would still be good without Saquon. Not as good obviously but they'd still be good. Lamar is the most valuable to his team. It's not BEST PLAYER AWARD. It'd most valuable. I absolutely love Saquon. But he not the most valuable to his team

@@DesignRhythm According to who? If the criteria for winning MVP involves how wrong analysts were about you, then shouldn't Darnold be the front runner?

2:16 you know the meme of the parent saving the kid while the other kid drowns and theres a skeleton at the bottom of the pool? That skeleton is joe burrow.
Saquon since week one has been dominant. When the Eagles had no offense, they won games on his back. When they had dynamic offensive games, he was leading the way.
burrow has 39 tds 8 interceptions leads league in passing yards (4200) But Lamar has 39 tds 4 interception 3950 passing yards and 850 rushing yards (4800 total yards of offense) Joe isn’t in the debate if they are saying Josh should get it over Lamar.
you forget that its alot harder to play like a Joe Burrow (who also has a trash O-Line) or Jared Goff. completely different skillset to Josh Allen or Lamar. They have no bail-out option with their feet, they have to do everything pre snap and be much more precise with their throws. Beeing a mobile QB makes life alot easier, extending plays and so on. That throw Goff did over 2 Bills linebacker to St. Brown was a MVP throw. Burrow is the same just with a shittier team. Thats why they likely will ever have it harder, they will not get rushing td's but you actually have to watch the games and all the pre-snap and reading of defenses to understand their actual value.
@feroxk.9266 winning does play a role though. No one says Joe burrow is playing like trash but a losing record will always hold back that player from getting recognition. Not to mention that playing from behind forces certain playstyles that can appear flashy but also leave little room for error. Also burrows easy out option is chase and Higgins. If one is a check down, or they just come back to open space, he can trust them to at least make a dead play a small positive with how elusive they have been. Yeah it's not the same as being highly mobile but they have those receivers on an absolute steal right now in terms of contracts.
One stat that isn’t talked about is how Jared Goff has gone 13-2 for the Detroit Lions with historic efficiency and QB rating numbers. But Goff isn’t considered flashy because he’s a pocket QB and therefore has zero shot at the award. Stuff like that and the fact Barkley could also break NFL records that have stood for decades and he’s likely gonna finish 3rd 🤦🏼♂️. I’m sorry, the award just doesn’t mean a whole lot.
One Carries a team to the playoffs that shouldn’t be there. Proving he is the best player. While the team wins a Super Bowl. And the way this year is going. Refs wearing Chiefs jerseys should get the mvp nod
whats also insane is in these games where they dominate, the offense scores so efficiently, that they stop playing to score in the 3rd and 4th quarter. there is no doubt in my mind had the game been closer, lamar ends with 5 or more TDs. That needs to be factored in as well. Thats why his TDs are as high as they are this year. Defense was struggling to get it together with a 1st year coordinator. They needed Lamar to have multiple games where they could go TD for TD like he did with the Bengals. Now that the defense has it figured out, they simply dont need the same level of output from him. if he had a defense like this all year, he wouldnt have 40+ tds. thats an underrated part of the conversation this year for some reason.
thats cap hes been throwing in the 4th quarter of games all year, like he did up 30 against the giants and texans. bills have more points per drive anyway they have a more efficient offense
Definitely the same for the Bills who have a higher point differential than the Ravens. The Bills go up by a couple scores early, then they take the ball out of Josh's hands, running the clock out.
Mahomes beat the Ravens and just about every playoff team this year. 15-1, feared by all and always comes in clutch. diff receivers and o line every other week, RB goes down and he finds ways to win. lamar can have his 50 tds, Mahomes busy winning Superbowls! What is the Chiefs record if you switch them? 15-1!!! MVP is Mahomes by far
Nope. Just pointing out that not all wins/losses are the same. But Lamar had similar or better numbers than Allen in 2023 by most metrics. Allen had more total yards and TDs, but Jackson was more efficient by a significant margin. Allen 2023 (17 games): 284 total ypg, 7.0 ypa/ypc, 44 td, 23 TO (1.91-1 td/to) Jackson 2023 (16 games): 281 total ypg, 7.4 ypa/ypc, 29 total TD, 9 TO (3.22-1 td/to)

Lamar is great, but let’s be honest. The Ravens were a successful franchise before Lamar showed up. They won 2 Super Bowls in the 17 year time period the Bills couldn’t even make the playoffs.
Regular season MVP never wins in the playoffs. NFL entirely has been terrible. Players asked for more money and more off season layoffs. Look how bad this year has been. Seriously? Joe isn’t even going to make the playoffs. Wins have to matter a little. Doesn’t matter the reasoning for the losses… Peyton always had the worst Defenses and somehow still won 12 games a year and got to the playoffs.
He lost to the Ravens and Lamar twice this year. His defense is worse than trash so every game is a shootout thus his numbers are inflated because he throws the ball as often as he does. Let’s be honest. The talking heads and the NFL are creating (at least fueling it) this MVP controversy. They are trying to drum up television viewership for Buffalo games that really aren’t worth watching vs. the Jets and Pats. And the Ravens vs. the Browns. If statistics matter, it’s obvious who deserves the award.
@ both matter. The Ravens have two more losses but played second hardest schedule in the league behind Cleveland. And play in a tougher division this year. The Ravens also demolished the Bills head to head and smashed a team in Houston who defeated Buffalo. They did have two bad losses to the Raiders and Browns, though, so unfortunately I think the decision for MVP shouldn’t be made until after the playoffs but it doesn’t work that way.

Because Lamar has 10 fumbles which is in QBR but not passer rating and more total turnovers but only throwing turnovers count right???? burrow has 39 tds 8 interceptions leads league in passing yards (4200)
But Lamar has 39 tds 4 interception 3950 passing yards and 850 rushing yards (4800 total yards of offense)
Joe isn’t in the debate if they are saying Josh should get it over Lamar.
Joe is also getting blown out because of his bad defense so he has to throw more, with his amazing receivers in chase and higgins
you forget that its alot harder to play like a Joe Burrow (who also has a trash O-Line) or Jared Goff. completely different skillset to Josh Allen or Lamar.
It’s really hard to win mvp and have a losing record. It’s just how the award works. They were about to give it to Brock last year lmao

Just to at best win 1 playoff game. Regular season MVPs don’t matter. Lamar could have 3 MVPs and Mahomes could have 3 SB MVPs. Which matters more?
The only thing that matters is Super Bowl Rings. All the awards are trash compared to that.

The lack of consideration for Saquon is upsetting
The ability to run with a football is not a reason for MVP greatness!
How on earth was Josh Allen "a runaway"?!! Lamar slapped Josh Allen silly earlier in the year. Funny how head to head only counts in certain situations.
The problem with these people is they make such dramatic claims from one week to the next, it then makes them look like mugs when they get given a say in MVP.
It's not best team it's most valuable player, best team is who wins the super bowl
Ive always said MVP goes to whoever has the coolest game closest to the end of the season...
White boy wasn’t even runner up last year lol
Please keep in mind that Lamar is about to set the record for highest passer rating in a single season and is significantly ahead of Allen in literally every conceivable statline
Joe Burrow deserves it if they make the playoffs due to his defense being so bad
@@Who_Dr3y But his contract is the reason they can’t afford good defensive players.
@@wickedsickfunkyfreshroller2037 nah Mike brown the owner is actually the reason bengals have cap space Mike brown just doesn’t spend money
We need to be talking about how Lamar is on pace to break Rodgers’ single season passer rating record while also having more total td, more total yards, and less ints than Rodgers’ did that year.
Dak Preston garbage time statistics!
@ Lamar has sat out almost the entire fourth quarter multiple times this year because they were winning by so much. The complete opposite of stat padding.
Lamar has been carrying the ravens since 2018 these last 2 years he’s had legit wrs he won his first mvp throwing to rookie Hollywood brown Seth Roberts Willie Snead and Miles Boykin and he deserved it last season he was on fire the last 6 weeks of that season but the media will give josh a sympathy mvp
It’s Lamar and there’s no debate needed.
Bills 2-0 against #1 seed in each conference and he was like a super hero in that game. rest include Ravens, 1-28.. w/o Allen, they would not be close competition. Whereas Ravens can use more variety options for win.. If you emphasis on stats on meaningless competition with 5 TDs and 80 yards run, choose LJ, If you want wins, efficiency and how each player impact on its team to success, you choose Allen.
So Most Valuable Player is Allen
and it’s not even close on my valet. team which supposed to finish 3rd in the division whereas team with best record last year, Added arguably the best RB in last 20 years.
damn amnesia when it comes to 35-10.. it's like it never happened 😂
If you want to talk about beating playoff teams, the Ravens have beaten every single AFC playoff team this year with the exception of the Chiefs on opening day on the road by a toe. Allen has beaten what, 3 winning teams this season? And when they played each other, it was a complete blowout that Lamar balled out in. Your Bills bias is showing there, homer.
@@117Chief930 you're not meant to bring that up bro. There's no rebuttal for it.. watch them not answer it 😂
Meaningless competition...???? They beat every sing AFC playoff team besides the chiefs and oh yh and an blowout win over the Bills what games were you watching?
no hate for Tone, but this is why these awards mean very little to me.
It’s Lamar’s award. But the PR for the NFL want the white boy up there
That must be why Myles Garret won last year 😂😂😂 cause they wanted the white boy up there 😂😂😂
Have you completely lost your mind?
NFL is woke AF, they have been trying everything possible to get people to think Lamar is the MVP
He isn’t, it’s clearly Saquon
@@wickedsickfunkyfreshroller2037Myles Garrett didn’t win mvp☠️
@@dronepocket325hilariously wrong, the vast amount of donations and outside funding comes from right wing politicians and organizations
You’re a clown and what’s wrong with today’s America
If Lamar doesn't win, just cancel the trophy. Like seriously, the fact anyone is debating this is insane, just hand it to him right now.
Saquon deserves the MVP. Lamars gonna lose first round of the playoffs.
And Nick Sirianni's gonna pull through???!!!
@ he just beat you two weeks ago???
OPOY at best. qb award
No
Maybe im biased bc im a giants fan, but when jalen hurts left the game, what happened to the Eagles offense?😅
Saquon numbers are underrated, In any other team he would have at least 10 more TDs.
Jalen Hurts have 14 TDs because of the Tush Push.
Lamar doesnt put up these numbers without Derrick Henry
He has 2 MVPs before Henry showed up. In fact he’s 1 vote away from the second being unanimous. Henry is feeding off Lamar, not vice versa
Yeah because Lamar wasn't doing this before. Get outta here. If anything it helps Henry not the other way around.
You must be new to football.
this is Lamar's 3rd mvp campaign. Derrick henry has been a raven for 0 seasons before this
You dropped this 🫴🤡
The moral of the story is somebody is going home in the playoffs
lets keep the MVP on a winning team 2 smh
Let’s be honest. The talking heads and the NFL are creating (at least fueling it) this MVP controversy. They are trying to drum up television viewership for Buffalo games that really aren’t worth watching vs. the Jets and Pats. And the Ravens vs. the Browns. If statistics matter, it’s obvious who deserves the award.
Last year we were all told statistics don't matter, it's team wins that matter most. Pick one. Was Lamar's MVP last year illegitimate?
@ both matter. The Ravens have two more losses but played second hardest schedule in the league behind Cleveland. And play in a tougher division this year. The Ravens also demolished the Bills head to head and smashed a team in Houston who defeated Buffalo. They did have two bad losses to the Raiders and Browns, though, so unfortunately I think the decision for MVP shouldn’t be made until after the playoffs but it doesn’t work that way.
@@RageDaug if wins matters its mahomes, goff or darnold because they have the best records.
@@DD-rk6kn OK, then make that argument, or make the argument that Lamar should not have won last year. But you can't support Lamar for MVP last year, AND Lamar for MVP this year, because it's two completely different sets of criteria, and it makes you look like a hypocrite, changing the criteria so that Lamar can just win MVP every year.
I don’t think it’s talked about enough that Barkley has the chance to beat the rushing record against his old team. I think he comes off like 70 yards short tho
And what about those fake pi calls that push them down the field?
Saquan at 5.9 a carry and sniffing 2000 is wild. Glad he got out of NY.
Lamar is taking it, it would surprise me if Josh played his last game and on top of those numbers Lamar passer rating is 121 plus his rushing ability, making him one of the scariest player in the NFL
All of them including Goff could have taken it against the last 5 mvps
Incredible year of football for all of them
