Hello Dr Jones thank you for sharing. Hmm 🤔 I don’t own a cat although have a lot of my friends does so will definitely share this. Interesting to what you have said and review. Goodness when will this be ever over 😔. Stay safe and thank you for another informative information. 🥰👍🏻

Thanks for the updated information. I know that this isn't the first time that sharing good information has resulted in a less than reasonable response for you. But I sincerely hope you will take it in stride and know that you are not responsible for the reactions of others. Keep doing the wonderful work that you so kindly do. It is obviously a passion for you and your efforts truly benefit so many human and animal alike. Regarding my cats... I love them dearly. If a human in my home becomes symptomatic I will advise them to limit close interaction with the pets for a few weeks. As soon as all is better we will go right back to love bombing each other. Stay well everyone! And be helpful in every way you can.

My 8 month old kitten died last month from FIP, a form of corona virus. My vet told me that they don't even test cats for corona because so many would test positive with little or no symptoms. But she explained that FIP, which is fatal, develops when it mutates and cats and kittens with compromised immune systems are susceptible to it. But my kitten tested negative for aids and leukemia and seemed completely healthy. Then he got a cold that would not go away and did not respond to antibiotics. Then sadly the FIP was diagnosed. Corona with cats has been around a long time and just like with humans, I don't think they can actually test for COV-19 specifically. This test sounds misleading and could prompt bad people to do bad things to animals out of fear and ignorance.

I agree with you completely,People are out in stores shopping & there going to catch it before Our pets and as you said, there’s so many people who have Covid-19 & only 1 cat case.

I just hope people don’t over react & get rid of there cats. Thank you for your insight & helping us to understand.

Well done! Thank you for warning us, and being fully transparent about sarscov2 scientific reports we need to be aware of as pet owners. Dr. Jones, it takes a lot of guts to tell truth albeit in America being a bad news messenger is quite unpopular. We & our pet companions will adjust & live together thru sarscov2. Many of us already are while in lockdown within NYC's high density. I'd love if others share tips how they cope. Stay Safe+Strong!

This kind of medical study is essential to continue the development of veterinary medical science. To end live animal studies would be to end the progression of medical science, and many more animals will suffer and/or die than are subject to experimentation. Medical experimentation is the lesser of two evils. Cats and ferrets will suffer and die from this disease. If we want to develop effective treatments and/or preventions for this disease we must experiment.

That's why we need to wear a mask and gloves in public. Change your clothes, wipe or spray down your shoes AND wash your hands when you get home. Also wipe down all groceries before bringing them in your home. I know it sounds extreme BUT it will keep you, your family and your pets safe.
