Great projects, I love your choices. Something I do to help with counting; I keep a needle threaded with a length of sewing thread, something you can see against your fabric. I do a running stitch ( over 2, under 2) for the number of stitches from one motif to the next motif, then pull the thread out, put it on the needle minder for next time.I learned that counting trick from Jean Farrish; she has great tutorials for people transitioning to linen

I am stitching the branch they are on, the branch just below Santa that his feet are touching, and a portion of the branch above them (the lower limb and partial upper limbs), and the little squirrel on the other side of the tree, I am going to add to the upper limb above Santa (a mirror image so he is faced toward Santa). The trunk will become my right hand side border and I plan to only stitch half of it. Does that help?
