I remember racing on some of these tracks with my father.. 10-15 years ago.. such sweet memories
These tests actually had the perfect level of challenge, the GT5 events were either too easy (As shown with every S license) or too hard (IB10)
I found it amazing that there were people who played old GT games that could achieve all Gold's without steering wheel. PS2 controller wasn't that good for simulation racing game back then.
@Damar Fadlan The feeling is mutual xD I always left out IA-License for last because screw it. Oddly enough, I always enjoy S-License more because primarly, they were all Time Trial.
R6 is absolutely the HARDEST license on Rally followed by R7 and R4
R-6 is easily the hardest license test in GT3, i still haven't got gold in it!

S-4 and S-6 were harder for me. I think R-6 is definitely the hardest test in R to gold, but not overall
I did R6 Took me all day to gold it. 29.400 is gold in my version.
R-5 was a pain in the neck, but once I mastered that and R-6, R-7 and R-8 were that much easier.

I finally got all gold on rally license. I had a really shitty toyota at the beginning and couldnt win races haha, so I got all gold and got this subaru impreza prototype. Best start! :D

I will always remember R8,because me,my brother and my father played this game alot,and we were wanting to get the golden licenses on all stages,anmd the last one(R8)was so damn hard,it was my father,my brother then me trying.Everyone was doing 2'01"something and i was doing like 2'03...i was the worst,but then,something happened and i think i have the world record bacause in the last time they let me try,i did 1'57"678,and nobody could believe it.This game and this thing will mark me forever.
Well if everyone else is going to do a childhood story so will I. I remember playing this everyday with my brother on splitscreen. He took the CELICA and I went with the Corolla and we raced mostly on smokey mountains, swiss alps and Tahiti Circuit and it was always a close race. I FUCKING LOVED THIS GAME

This was the only license i could get every gold prize. Getting Subaru Impreza Rally Car Prototype was a boost start on this game.

@@lukaveselinovic S License isn't required to enter R License, you can do this at the very start of the game aside from B License.
And winning the Panoz GT1 machine is just a super boost at the start.

Still looks good. Still a classic.
GT3 licence tests were relentless. I still struggle with them to this day when aiming for gold. GT4 felt a lot easier. It still had a bit of a challenge to them but it was a lot more forgiving. From GT5 onwards though, they made it too easy and it was quite frankly, boring. I hope GT7 has licence tests that have a GT4 challenge/skill set.
As a retro gamer, It's only when you are limited to GameCube, Dreamcast and Xbox (which I have been for the past month) you begin to crave a driving game on par with GT3, that is when you truly realise how immense this game is and how far ahead of literally everything until GT4
I can remember getting Gold in R1 and R8. Still don't know how I got gold in R8, but it was great!!!!!
FINALLY !!! Took me ~5 hours to get all gold, R-6 is so hard omg I don't want to see a rally Lancia never again in my life
R-6 is damn near impossible on NTSC.
29.400 for gold (.300 quicker than PAL). Also, with NTSC you tend to run slower lap times than PAL to begin with.
Gran Motoring for me I got gold on everything but the last one I got bronze that's so hard for me for ntsc the last is 1:58.7 that's so difficult
i remember this shit used to be hard when i was little i would look at the replays and be like how does he do that and get gold everytime now its easy because i'm older brings back so many memories.
Alright look. I’m glad I got this game for my PS2 and I’m glad I still have the privilege of playing it.
But god these license challenges are pain in the you-know-what!
This was the hardest shit ever playing the game when i was like 10.
I remember i used to waste all my money buying shit cars and tuning them up to be as fast as possible. I barely even got past the professional races.
The one thing I didn't like about GT3 was you could only drive rally cars on these tracks. I'm glad Polyphony changed that in GT4 and continued that.

This was the only License (in ANY GRAN TURISMO, Until GT5) where I got Gold in every event test. I loved these tests so much that I hoped that they would have spilled over to GT5. Sadly, it had not...
For some reason i can easily get gold in dirt stages, but i struggle to get bronze in tarmac stages

This was a PlayStation 2 game, not a PC game. However, there are PlayStation 2 Emulators, and you can find Gran Turismo 3 iso's around...

R6 is horrible the lancia drives like crap it's impossible to do a drift it either stops responding or does one halfway and spins out
Turn in and get some lateral acceleration built up, then brake to cause a drift. Or just use the E-Brake. If the revs fall below 5k, the car will bog. Downshift to keep the revs up. 1st gear is usable so long as you're going completely sideways.
Yep, all that's left to do is to sell the Impreza and get the Lancia Delta HF Integrale AKA best rally car in the game (besides the Escudo, of course..)

I actually finished all rally tests with gold today. The ones that gave me most trouble were R-6 and R-7. R-8 on the other hand was really easy so I got it to 1,58 on first attempt. :P

WTF? I've already achieved under 29.700 on R6 but it's only silver! You must be on PAL and NTSC has tougher times for some licenses (29.400 for R6).
Paul Ibañez Try GT4 Mission 8 The Pass in Trial Mountain on PAL. It is borderline impossible without slamming into the car and trying to block him while you are penalized to finish line. NTSC has like 40m closer gap than the PAL version, it looks like a bug truthfully.
In tarmac surface licenses, which are from B to S license, the gold times are easier in NTSC than in PAL. However, the R license is the opposite. The gold times in PAL are easier than in NTSC (well, for the majority of the tests).
Geting Gold on all tracks are super hard to do .w.
Man.. R-6 was the only one that gave me trouble when going for gold. But now i'm playing the Japanese version and ffs it's even worse. They want 29:400. D:

I am the guy who commented on this video saying I did 1’57’’678 on R8. When I read this comment again, I thought I was lying to myself, however, I got my Gran turismo running again, and just checked. Its true, however, to get gold on my game a 1’58’’700 is needed. Anyone?
Not completely true... I Checked the records and my time was actually a 1’57’659 just to be accurate
You should still have to get a rally licence to do rally events

You just get better as you go along. I remember getting this game bundled with my PS2. I was like 6 or 7. Now I'm 21! I remember getting the S license when I was 14-16. I couldn't even imagine doing the Formula grand prix. Then i just did it in a F686. I have a 98.6% in the game and plan on a 100% eventually. I have all golds except for R-8 on the first lisence and I have bronze on R-6 and R-8, a slilver in R-7 and all the rest are golds for rally.
Watch the demos, read the blurbs before starting, understand the principles and physics of breaking, accretion, and turning, and have persistence.
Not going to lie, linseces are probably 15x harder than getting 100% for me. Have a few arcade time trials and the special route 11 II vitz race in profeshional to get gold.
R-6 is harder in NTSC-U 29.400

+Robin Kohlman I guess mine's a US version..oh well I have no choice but to use MPH as my speed unit. Polyphony should've have an option where you can switch your speed unit.
