I have a video link in the description of all of my sleep stories to a video of me teaching and demonstrating with a real client what I do in these stories. I focus all of the stories on helping with worry, stress and anxiety and in some cases where other issues came up during the sleep stories livestreams I used to hold, I would therapeutically cover these as well. This was also the case in the series of sleep stories I did last year based on suggestions from Patreons, where I made individual stories for each Patron who wanted it and focused therapeutically on what each person stated they wanted the story to help with.
The idea is that, like any self-hypnosis or healing meditation, you have to be engaged with it and listen regularly to get the most therapeutic benefit, so you would listen during a time you are unlikely to fall asleep if you want the maximum therapeutic benefit and listen at bedtime if your main focus is that you want to sleep. I see it as win-win, the main issues for sleep problems are stress, worry or anxiety, and then pain, so if you are listening and engaging and can't sleep and happen to be awake for the full duration of the story, or most of it, then you will be getting maximum therapeutic benefit and so over time as you cope better with stress, reduce worry and anxiety etc, you sleep better and as you sleep better you fall asleep faster when listening and so miss out on more of the therapeutic benefit, but are getting sleep that you want. If you listen and you fall asleep quickly, then you probably are less likely to need the therapeutic content around stress, worry and anxiety and once you have fallen asleep, you detach from engaging with the process and so reduce the therapeutic benefit, but didn't need it so much, so it doesn't matter, you are getting what you want and falling asleep.
The video in the description shows how I come up with the ideas and then apply them therapeutically and has the client give feedback about her experience of therapy done this way.
In the livestreams I used to treat the live chat as the client, now most of my sleep stories are made by me artificially creating a client. I create a list of random words and pretend that these are elements of content which a client I am working with has presented to me. I pretend that I am working with a client who wants help to reduce stress, anxiety and worry and then I develop therapeutic metaphors and suggestions etc for that imaginary client using the list of random words I have in front of me.

I'm sorry to hear that it can take you so long to fall asleep! Just in case it may be of interest to you though, Dan has some compilation videos like this one ruclips.net/video/48Hsg7ybQLc/видео.html which is over 4 hours long, and he has other compilations that are 8 hours long, in case that's any help? Would at least save you the hassle of going back on your phone to start another story if you reach the end of one and want to hear another 👍

I've got compilations which are about 4.5 hours long and also about 20 all night compilations which are 8 hours or more long for those who feel thru could do with something longer...

I absolutely adore you and your stories, I fall asleep in minutes but this one jarred so much that I couldn’t keep listening, it was because of ‘they’ and ‘their’ instead of he, she or it, have you gone woke Dan? I await abusive replies 😂

About 17% of the stories I've posted on my channel over the last 15 years are they/them, about 18% are he/him, about 20% are she/her and about 40% are you, and a few percent are he/they and she/they.
