I had a Fantastic time at The Planes Of Fame Air Museum today recording this Epic Warbird.
PZ474, Mosquito is currently owned by Charles Somersault, a Great Contributor to the Planes Of Fame Air Museum.
    The Airplane’s History:
PZ474 was originally constructed at Hatfield in 1945 and used for RAF training before moving on to New Zealand in 1948 and where it was overhauled and delivered to 75 squadron as Nz2384. Later, ending up at Whiteman Air Park, San Fernando, California. PZ474 was cancelled from the civil register in December 1970. Well-known warbird collector Ed Maloney looked to put a deal together for PZ474...
In 2014, the remains were acquired by Rod Lewis of Lewis Air Legends in San Antonio, Texas and the project was shipped to Avspecs Ltd in New Zealand for restoration to flying condition. After a 5 year rebuild it returned to the air on January 13 2019. PZ474, was later acquired by Charles Somers May of 2020. PZ474 is one of only four airworthy types in the world today.

It´s the most iconic aircrft of it´s time. I ready many articels and books about the Mossi. - Unfortunitally I was not able to see one flying again. Not in theUk or elsewhere in EU. There are some bugs or micro holds in the movie in the starting position where the blades starting to turn, always stopping for some Micro Seconds. Caused by tipone camera or through the www? Iam watchin in Germany. thx.

The glue invented at the Research institute at Duxford was a resorcinal type glue which they called Redux. I think epoxy was invented by Ciba Gigey in the 1960,s

Amazing aircraft, I bet when the Germans first saw these their jaws hit the floor. I hope to see one of these one day as well as Typhoon and Tempest.

No chance in hell of seeing am airworthy Typhoon or Tempest, unless you can fund the building of a working Napier 24 cylinder engine, WITH all its bugs and unreliability ironed out! 🙄

@@manuwilson4695 There are Typhoons and Tempests being restored as we speak, not sure which engine option they are rebuilding tbh they had a few over the years. Beautiful aircraft though i would love to see one. I still cannot believe Britain did not save any of them including Mosquito and any battleships it is a real shame.

Don't get me wrong. I would love to see the Typhoon or tempest fly again. But it just seems a little far fetched to expect a Napier engine to be restored/built to a decent working standard. @@Michael.Talbot
