    I've always had a fascination with anything military related. A friend of mine has a German K98 Mauser rifle with all of the cartouche Nazi markings on it. It's truly amazing to hold it and even more to shoot it. It has bumps and bruises and scratches on the stock and barrel and action. No telling how many trenches and battle fields it was dragged in, or how many lives it's taken. History is amazing.

    • @crafter170
      @crafter170 2 года назад

      I get you .I lifted a Mauser when we stayed the night in Colditz castle 2 years ago .This year we were in Berchesgarten and stood on the site of Hitlers house etc .Must admit I couldn't resist taking a long piss right in the middle of the site .Think it was where his dining area was ......

    This car is a 1939 Mercedes Benz G4 Offener Touring Wagon. It has original upholstery and minimal restoration. A museum docent told me that with all of the bullet-proof metal the car weighs about 9,000 lbs. He said that the original tires were severely worn from the weight and the only tires that the museum could find to replace them were, ironically, from Israel (Take that, Hitler!).
    This car was delivered to Hitler in late 1939 and used by him in Ober Salzberg, Berlin and Poland.

    The German military had 130 of those G4 Mercedes Benz Personnel Cars and the chances of THAT car being one of Hitler's personal vehicles is slim to none! He had 4 models that he himself rode in, he never drove, which were a 1937 model, 2 - 1938 models and a 1939 model. The ONLY one of the four models still existing that Hitler was actually known to have been in is at a museum in Belgium so rest assured THAT CAR is NOT one of Hitler's cars. There are like a half-dozen of these floating around the USA and NONE are the cars that Hitler was in, period.

    Super cool vlog today. Great historical documentation! I loved the period music playing in the museum. I am really appreciative towards the museums and curators whom spend their time and money to showcase such interesting and important parts of our past. I did find it a little disappointing that there weren't any other visitors there like a field trip, or a grandfather with his grandson/daughter. My grandfather took me to the giant airplane "graveyard" outside of Tucson in the '80s and I remember it well...good times. Thanks Adam.

    "owned and driven by Hitler" ? Nope, do your research guys. Adolph Hitler was a well documented car lover but alas he did not drive. You will note that he is always seen riding in his cars but not driving. It has been documented that the man who saw many a race, commissioned the Volkswagen and requested the Autobahns, never drove a car himself. I would reference one book; Thinking Small: The Long, Strange Trip of the Volkswagen Beetle
    by Andrea Hiott as a source for this info.

    The designers of the G-4 Benz wanted the traction of 4 driven tires, but for whatever reason did not drive the front wheels, resulting in a 6 wheel configuration. The 4 rear wheels were thus driven. A six wheel Benz was a very high level status symbol in Germany, reserved for elites.

    The old IMPERIAL PALACE CASINO in Las Vegas used to house a Mercedes that once belonged to Hitler. If I recall it had the same setup as the one in your video. Back then the owner of the vehicle was Ralph Engelstad, not sure if he still owns it. He had at that time the largest concentration of Duesenbergs anywhere (52), and the old "IP" had a massive room that featured a super cool 1,000-car exhibit. Thanks for covering that piece of history Adam, safe travels.

      The people who wanted to finance a war gave Churchill millions of pounds and helped him obtain the Prime Minister's job in the UK are the evil, make no mistake. Hitler was desperate to create a treaty to avoid war and get his broken country back together, Churchill ignored his treaty requests.. WWI was about getting Germany into line as Germany was a commercial juggernaut and wanted no part of a common single European market, they wanted to offer their products and services unfettered to the world. The people who wanted a One World Government and a New World Order wouldn't allow that and basically destroyed Germany and as a result broke the country up into pieces. That's when Hitler came about, and he wanted to put Germany back together. You people really need to quit listening to the propaganda media and start looking through all the available records yourselves. Watch "Conspiracy of Silence" and "The Franklin Cover Up" the people (if you can call them human) are the one who perpetrated unspeakable crimes against the children in these films. These are the people who also finance both sides of wars and blame people like Hitler for all their sins. He was a great scapegoat. These are the same people behind the Bolshevik Revolution where 80 million people were murdered. They financed the communism of China where God knows how many millions of people were killed as a result. They even tell you the American civil war was over slavery, when if fact it was over the states being denied interposition between themselves and the Federal Government. In other words the country incorporated and the states lost their sovereign firewall to keep the federal government in check Lincoln imposed martial law over the United States that is still in effect today..So much for good old Abe.

    In Las Vegas there is a hotel called the Imperial Palace, on the 4th floor there is an auto museum which has a Mercedes that belonged to Hitler too. Bulletproof glass, etc. it's very cool to see in person, from the 1920s or 30s

    I saw another Mercedes Touring car that Hitler used in the Technical Museum near Heidelberg Germany. The vehicle was armored and bulletproof except for the hood, which was pointed out on the display description. So Hitler would have been vulnerable if someone shot into hood and it went into dashboard.

    You've been fooled. It's a staff car but it is not Hitler's car. A very important feature is missing: the handle grip on the front window screen's frame. In all, 57 of this particular model were build.

      i was thinking the same thing, but look closer, the handle grip of which you speak, IS there, and can be clearly seen in a couple of shots.

    Actually the cars were at least 4 of them and provided to Hitler for travelling in official events. The car model is famous for being the luxury armored limousine for leaders and famous people in its time as well

    If you're impressed with that place, then you should check out the National Museum of the Air Force in Dayton, Oh. Full of artifacts from the beginning of flight to present day. You could spend a whole day there, and if you want to do the tours, two days.

    Interesting video. I have a story about this car. In 1978 or 1979 I saw this car in Las Vegas, at the Imperial Palace car collection. At that time, they must have recently upholstered the rear seats. (In this video you said front seats had original upholstery). Anyway, the Imperial Palace Car Collection gift shop was selling small (2"x 2") pieces of the original leather, framed. If I remember right they were selling for $10. At the time I didn't even have $10 to spare. I have regretted it ever since.
