Nearing 70 years old, I regret I won't live long enough to note your greatest contribution. For what it's worth: True north is simply Natural as we move about this world. Peace.
Hi, I'm from Iran, I just wanted to thank you because your voice always makes me feel so peaceful and relaxed, it's like an escape room from the hustle culture, I like your passion about books and literature and languages, I like your personal way of thinking about stuff and how you're the person you are, you're such a jem in this generation, I'm sending you all the love and peace that I can feel❤
We, the audience, are the ones who thank you to the sky for these lovely videos, ideas, and upcoming goals. Something like the course you intend to do makes me over the moon. Your thought about how to pass your priceless knowledge on to others for free is beyond incredible. Thanks; moreover, break a leg in Paris. I also cannot wait for the upcoming things that I am pretty sure will make it an enjoyable and magnificent journey.
You praise us, the viewers/subscribers/ko-fi contributors, for being tender-hearted deep-thinkers and thank you for that but that describes no one better than YOU which I think is why so many come and continue to come to your channel. Here we get life inspiration, literary insight, and deep thoughts on things that matter delivered by someone who, like you say, we don't really know, but we, at least I, REALLY suspect is truly a lovely and kind person to her core. I think I came across your channel around last November and it was one (of many but still definitely one) factor that made me take the leap and enroll in an MFA program in writing and literature. Your whole project, the words and your life situation that you shared, the going back to school and making it happen, making a change, it really spoke to me and continues to do so. Every word you say about literature bursts with love for literature, love for reading it, talking about it and taking it out into the world to live better - all that so vividly comes through the screen. I have to admit the first Sunday you don't post a video is going to cause a little bit of a problem here in NJ; I've developed the joyful routine of preparing my coffee, padding down the hall in my comfortable pajamas and slippers, settling into my chair in front of the monitor, taking a few delicious hot sips while I get to You Tube, reading the introduction for the video, then intentionally pausing in the stillness that only comes with Sunday morning, open my notebook, and knowing I'm in for a treat for the soul and the mind, push play. It sounds dramatic but its all true! And now you are going international. The channel we know is already international but you broadcast from Austria, now France will come for a semester. It feels like a rocket's trajectory. A globe-trotting channel. So exciting. Congratulations on everything. Finally, in response to where you went at the end of the video may I suggest you let yourself go "off track" more often because what you had to say in that section really penetrated my heart. You're brave to express such things but certainly not alone. I know I have experienced and still do to some degree much of what you described as the lack of trust in self and paralysis for one reason or another. To hear that from someone who is making videos like this for 52 weeks straight is stunning and you generously share hope by revealing such things. In a word, you're the best. I can not wait to see what the Paris chapter of this riveting story brings.
I appreciate you endlessly. You have no idea! That I'm part of your Sunday coffee routine is wonderful and I'll keep the "off track" thing in mind for sure. You were right once before.
“Perfectionist paralysis” - god yes. I’m not a RUclipsr but an aspiring writer. I have poor discipline, and when I do work I end up obsessing over a single part until I feel burnt out and drift away from it. Piles of unfinished ideas in my drawers - common problem. Anyway I’ve enjoyed your videos a lot. I feel like YT is lacking in that kind of thoughtful, academic-yet-naturalistic content. I hope you’ll continue in whatever capacity fits best for your life, but I also think you’re wise to balance it out. Book clubs are always fun, I’d get in on that. Best of luck with your move and in your studies! 🤘
Thank you so much for sharing! I think it's been a year since I started watching your videos and, honestly, (and I only realised it recently)) what made me come back again was an ASMR effect)) Your voice and manner is really soothing and relaxing. 😊 Having said that, I do love literature and appreciate your work. So now it's more like tuning in to see an old friend and get inspired. Thank you again! You're wonderful.❤
First of all ~ Congratulations on one year! 🎉🎈💚 Thank you for all of your videos and each is inspiring and wonderful! As an amateur photographer, I find the imperfect is most beautiful to me. Though I don't see the imperfections you see in your videos, maybe that is why they are so lovely. 🥰 What you call perfection paralysis, in my little corner of the world we call analysis paralysis. And I've been stuck in the cycle for a couple of years. I want to sell my house and take advantage of my good health and go on new adventures traveling around my country. But how can I leave behind family, especially grandkids. Though you are so much younger than I, I see you going after your dreams and you've inspired me to stop analyzing, face my fears, and go for it. And just maybe, someday my kids and grandkids will remember and go for their dreams as well. Also, so many ways to keep in touch today! 🥰 Whatever you want your channel to be, I hope you'll take time for you when you need it. I'll be here. Thank you, Maria, for so much. And you are right~ the connections are real! 🙏🏼✨
I lived in Paris on and off in Shakespeare & Co for two years. It was in the centre of Paris. I think there is nothing better than getting up early on a Sunday morning and ending up in a cafe. I really look forward to your Sorbonne adventures :-)
@@strange.lucidity I also recommend The Abbey! Much more affordable used books in addition to new, and owned by a lovely Canadian. It's a 5-minute walk from Shakespeare & Co, and offers free coffee and tea.
You are wonderful. Congratulations on your one year on RUclips and thank you for making such interesting content for readers. You have made my reading experience better with Faust and I’m excited to watch your other book videos as I dive into reading them. It’s also very interesting to hear about your studies since I dream about taking literature classes. All your ideas for future plans sound great- a course, a book club - yes to all!! Good luck with your move to Paris! I can’t wait to watch your vlog.
Congrats on 1 year on RUclips!! I’m a newer viewer on this channel so apologies if you’ve already done a video on this topic but I’d love to learn about how you approach reading texts not in your native language or a language you’re learning at a beginner/intermediate level. I’m learning French and reading a novel is very intimidating to me!
I love your attitude and am glad you are going to continue your channel into a second year. It's going to be interesting to follow your thoughts as you study in France. Ich hoffe, dass du haben dort ein schöne Zeit.
Dear Maria, I’ve been watching your videos and I will continue to do so. I’m from Montevideo, Uruguay. I was very excited with the video about Borges. I hope your new life in Paris is full of opportunities. Greetings!!!
Hello dear Maria, I wish you a very happy first anniversary on producing such interesting content for this channel, which I've been enjoying very much! 😊🎉 Congratulations on your new equipment, also! I'm so excited about your move to France and look forward to hearing about how it all goes and your first impressions! So glad you will be continuing to upload videos (as your time permits) and I wish you every success in both your studies and your channel! Kindest regards from a Canadian expat living happily in Costa Rica, who is really looking forward to getting her copy of Swann's Way to read - thanks to your great fondness for Proust!!! ❤ 📚🕯
so happy I’ve found your channel! I am also planning to spend some time in Paris for my archival research and it’s going to be helpful to also hear your experience! And good luck! 🫶🏻
Awesome to see how your literature journey is going! I remember I was some of the early commenters in your earliest videos and loved your outlook, and still love it. Congrats to 1 year! It takes a lot of effort :) ps. Still planning to pick up Faust thanks to you
Congratulations!!! 🎉 And thank you, really. Your channel has been a breath of fresh air and incredibly inspiring for me ❤🩹 I hope you have the best time in Paris 😄
It's been great to see the channel grow Maria! I remember seeing your comment and going and watching your video on the Circular Ruins that had just released. I'm pumped for season 2 😁
Nice to meet you. I'm watching your video from Japan. I registered today. I'm studying English now, but your English is very easy to listen to. The content of the video is also fun and helpful. I'm looking forward to the next video.😊
This was really insightful and I could relate a lot. RUclips is difficult sometimes, but also rewarding, it's great to hear your story and how you do things, you definitely gave me some inspiration. thank you Maria, you are awesome, keep up your most creative self, I think that is what is the most inspiring to me. ❤
Thanks so much Tim. It has been so wonderful to see what you've been doing as well over the years. Glad we didn't loose sight of each other. All the best to you!
Happy anniversary! 😊 I am really happy that I discovered your channel. It's lovely to see you talking so passionately about books and literature. Thanks for all the videos and recommendations! To many more!
As someone who is planning to create a new channel about philosophy and studying you are very inspiring 💛 I'm scared to leave my current channel in the past cause it helped me sm for a couple of years and has become part of my routine. I just hope I can speak in English clearly as you ❤ (im italian) Btw asmr is so cheap compared to other type of content lol for 350,000 view I earned about 350 euros with ads 😂
Wow interesting to hear all that. I can't believe you got so little money for that amount of views... What I can say about speaking English is it gets easier so quickly. You probably just have to get through the first couple of videos feeling a bit awkward but it'll be flowing faster than you think I'm sure. Your channel idea sounds exciting. Send me a link when it's done and I'll subscribe :-)
Hi Maria. I find your channel, and the format that you use - 'talking heads' is how I think you describe it, to be very captivating. I find the constant shift of focus in so much broadcasting to be quite irritating, and extremely difficult to follow quite honestly. You're comment about feeling like a 'silly little girl' or words to that effect, was quite interesting. I have had some students in the past who have felt exactly like that, and has been exacerbated by the comments they have received from their teachers. I have found it to be due to the fact that they think 'differently'; they process information 'differently' . I have found them to be very interesting and thought provoking students; some have become very successful in their fields and some, I feel sure, will also find success in the future. I really hope this does not come across as 'patronizing'. I could go on and say a lot more, but I think the direction of my thoughts is probably already self evident, so I will leave it here for now. I wish you the very best Maria, and I look forward to listening in on your future content. D
