Differing differentials will always be difficult but at least in the future he will be able to differentiate between the two and diffuse a situation he might have been diffident in.

The pinions are all interchangeable between abs and non abs, the thick shims and collars are all different so mark everything from whatever diff they are from and then swap all the shit until it fits.... I've just done this for a 4.6
I dont know if im the only one, but I actually enjoy these types of videos. A good video doesnt need to have something insane happening every time. Watching this content makes your videos feel more real and relatable in my opinion. Keep on posting whatever you can film, thats what vlogs are for :)

Ruddy is just too lazy to learn. He’s Smart don’t get me wrong but the only thing that’s wrong with him is he rushes his builds. He doesn’t have the patience to take his time on things. Been watching the dude for years now since haggard and he’s still the same. at lest he’s slowly changing.
You CAN run the non-abs diff with an abs driveshaft if you are desperate.... the diff is only ~0.75-1 inch shorter, so your slip yoke won't sit in as far but its perfectly drivable
Love seeing Tommy being the dad trying to make Sam look at the bright side. Sam found out more about S13 diffs in the three hours trying to make Jimmy's diff work.

I feel you dude I’m trying to Manual Swap my E36 and shit keeps breaking as I’m taking it off cause it’s Old and previous owners did Quick Fixes Instead of proper shit, on days like that day a break and come back later with a clear mind and then again you learn shit from failures
also you need to know the contact patch u need to paint it and spin it and see if it matches and uses shims to move it around and get it right there are a lot of measurements
I bet the bolts stretched a bit being lower tensile Made that mistake when i did my brake upgrade an they had normal 8.8 bolts i used allen bolt instead as they are 12.5

Possible solution, I know you don't run welded diffs, what about installing a minispool, as a temporary fix, you won't have to outlay for tailshaft, axle hubs, any other odds or ends. Sorry if this is a dumb question but wouldn’t you be able to get a diff from a infinity Q45 and bolt it in, it has a factory LSD I think the housings are the same but don’t quote me on that. Also I meant to say a junkyard/salvage yard should have one, additionally if the case is different would the internals fit
Sammit like Tommy said you can’t be discouraged because you have the knowledge now that things don’t work but however when you do a ring and pinion swap they have to stay together you can’t just do a rain gear because the mesh are not the same🤔😊👍🏽🤙🏽
if the 5bolt R200 is a 3.90, pretty sure it came from an Infinity J30(Y30 code) , if it was not imported. That was a popular OEM swap in like 2005-10. You get the LSD, stronger outputs and straight bolt in . the R200 Z32 is a 4.08 lsd. which was also a popular swap, but you needed the J30 halfshafts, since the Z32 ones where also 10 mm longer. OR just swap in an non ABS driveshaft. oh looks like that is the direction you are going. drive shaft would be the cheapest option.
I didn't read all the comments if anyone already cleared this, but. You shoul never mix pinion and crown wheel, even it has same tooth count, they dont usually match very well. I use always those as a pair. Reason for different size of crown wheel bolts is s14 facelift. 7/96 or so forward s14 has 14mm bolts on crown wheel. s13 and pre facelift s14 has smaller bolts. It has nothing to do with or without ABS.
Lesson here: Before you buy a car, or after if it’s not possible before, throw it on a lift and get under it. I think Sam knows all this just got super excited which I can’t blame him for. 🔥🔥🤬
this video gave me anxiety i did not have. i have a stock 180sx with abs diff. and i bought a R32 diff without ABS and both diffs are currently at a shop to swap over all internals from the R32 diff to the s13 diff, both are R200 thought. i realy hope everything goes well :(

Always treated crown wheels and pinions as matched sets. Especially secondhand as the wear patterns would be different.
Diffs are a black art.
And if you swap them you need new crushes to do it properly every single time you install them to get the right distance.

The ring gear and pinion gear are a matching pair and are "lapped" together so they mesh perfectly. You can't just swap ring gears etc.

I would just weld the shite out of it. Source what you need later and that would get you drifting in your own car.
