I used the F version of 24-120 with a D750 for hundreds of portraits; for low light/natural light, switch up to a 50mm or 85mm, but with flash, the 24-120 was great.
Btw, you say the 24-200 for landscapes. I’m wondering, is 200mm on FX enough to compress, say, mountain ranges in the background? After all it’s only 135mm in APS-C terms. If you need a tele lens for that anyway, why not reduce the focal range of your standard zoom to gain a bit of speed, so that it’s more flexible in that way? Compared to the 24-200VR, I'd rather have the 2+ stops for moving subjects. Of course I'd rather have it to turn it off than not have it. From a marketing perspective alone it is a bit of a mistake. They fit it into the 16-80DXVR after all.
I'm very happy with the 24-70 f/2.8 - I wasn't, honestly, with the f/4 due to the large distortion and the loss when correcting in post. Your short review gives me some thoughts on whether this would be good enough for casual use - I love the fact that I can shoot 70mm f/2.8 which is close enough approximation of a portrait lens. 120 f/4 loses one stop, but the longer distance should somewhat compensate. And yes, 120mm is much better for casual walk-around. Hmm, choices choices…

With the existing chain supply shortage that we are experiencing, my lens probably will arrive by 2023
The only review of this lens on internet so far?
That’s actually wild if it is. I’ll post some more test shots this week
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto yes it is the only review... I have pre ordered just on this review for wedding photography.. thanks for your reviews, best on the net...regards Geoff
I have a nikon z lenses 24-105
you didn't speak about lack of VR?!?!?! its a must feature for long f* length hand held videos ??
I dunno. I shot a 1 second exposure handheld in this and it was fine. I think the ibis in the Z bodies is great
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto Z9 has awesome ibis.. I guess.. Can you please confirm on Z6/7 body?... Btw love your videos.. 😇👍🏼
I’m not an engineer but in experience, they feel the same to use between all the cameras
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto thanks for sharing your experience... very helpful!
Hah there’s no perfect lens. For what it’s worth, the 24-70 2.8 would still be my to go for any wedding and portrait environments.
I am looking to see which one I should buy. And this just push me in to 24-70mm 2.8 even if it 1000 bucks more
I do prefer the 2.8 for any work involving portraits or weddings for sure
Good cam 💞from India
"BO-COW"... nice! :)
24-70 f4s or 24-120 f4s?
I choose the 24-120
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto sharpness and fast autofocus ok?
Yes
@@TaylorJacksonPhotosay me please best nikon dslr camera? For weddings and reportage

Dang basically devalues my 24-70f4S...Grrrrrrrrr!!!!
As a kit lens the 24-70F4S was already devalued. It is vastly more compact. Which also makes it my favorite Z lens and value. My 16-80DXVR devalued MUCH worse, but was still a work horse. ;)
@@skyrunr yeah it still works though...lol
