"Download the Latest Data!" and "Join the message service" have never appeared in the exact form, but there is an option for downloading data. Instead of "Invite friends via the Wii Message Board" it says "Invite Wii friends?" and there's some other different stuff in the version I bought...

Wait till one starts, they are set by Nintendo.
One started just recently, download the latest data for the channel and press competitions.
I dont think so seeing as in the video when alink wanted to join the race, it said to insert a Mario kart wii disc.
