Lyrics:
VERSE1
Come, thou long expected Jesus
born to set thy people free
from our fears and sins release us
let us find our rest in thee
Israel's strength and consolation
hope of all the earth thou art
dear desire of every nation
joy of every longing heart
VERSE2
Born thy people to deliver
born a child and yet a King
born to reign in us forever
now thy gracious kingdom bring
By thine own eternal spirit
rule in all our hearts alone
by thine all sufficient merit
raise us to thy glorious throne
BRIDGE
You draw the hearts of shepherds
You draw the hearts of kings
Even as a baby
You were changing everything
You called me to Your Kingdom
Before Your lips could speak
And even as a baby
You were reaching out for me
And now we are awaiting
The day of Your return
When every eye will see You
As heaven comes to earth
Until the sky is opened
Until the trumpet sounds
The bride is getting ready
The church is singing out
ENDING
Come, thou long expected Jesus
born to set thy people free
from our fears and sins release us
let us find our rest in thee
Come Thou long expected King

This song broke me into tears. Realizing that Jesus had been reaching for us even as a baby. Just how undeserving we are ,yet how much he wants us. Just in awe of Jesus and how much he loves us!!!
Same
Beautiful song of faith, in Jesus our Saviour and King. 🎶🙌🏼
All Creation rejoice for Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lord's
Merry Christmas 2020! 🎄🎁❄️✨
Same to you!
Happy Birthday Jesus! It’s been 2021 years now, and we will still wait patiently!
Impatiently!
Come LORD Jesus! You command us to pray for Your very soon return (2 Peter 3). We look forward to the Rapture! (1 Corinthians 15)
My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ himself. Oh, when I stand before his throne, who will I be? What will he see? Will I fall to my knees? Will I gaze into his glorious face? Come, Lord Jesus, come.
Here in the Philippines, Christmas UNOFFICIALLY starts at Sept 01 and as far as I am concerned, this is my favorite Christian Christmas song. I love Meredith's ministry and sincerity to exalt the Lord Jesus, and this is such a loving duet between her and Jason. The soaring final chorus is primarily the reason why i keep coming back to this song. Glory to God!!!
Joy of every longing heart ❤️ in 2021, and ALWAYS 🙌

This song has got to be one of my favorites because it tells about God and Jesus!
Nice arrangement. A push toward the end that builds with excitement and anticipation for the arrival of the long awaited King! Only this time it will be in power and glory for His redeemed, the church.

Fantastic!
Excellent😍💖💪
I'm still not sure how I feel about the first half of the bridge. But boy, the second half of the bridge and the last verse pull it all together!
Just curious, what concerns do you have about first half of the bridge?
Not concerns, really. It just doesn't go as deep as the verses do, so it seemed like a kind of lame insertion. But as I said, the second half of the bridge brings it home, so I don't mind the first half too much. I just still feel like it's a little simple to fit well. But it works.
@@katherinec2759 I think it's because the second half of the bridge clearly has a lot of Biblical references which the lyrics are pulling from, while the first half feels like fluff in comparison. And the dude's voice coming in to harmonize the second half does add that extra touch of "yesssssssss!"
@@ndnapollo That is entirely possible. :)
good job
very nice
🌟
Cool
meaning of even as a baby reaching out to me?? The first line in bridge assumes Jesus' presence is what changed everything. So I tried to think about the second set of lines the same way.. Jesus wasn't as a baby reaching out his arms saying "come to me Em!" But rather, his presence as God incarnate calls me to his kingdom? Just feels weird and doesn't seem theologically right? I love the rest of this song. That line just really distracts me every time I hear it..
Wasn’t his Kingdom the whole purpose all along, Bring heaven to earth? Set us free from the darkness and sin? He spoke about it in scripture. In my Fathers house there are many rooms.
😇🎧❤️
Looking for an accompaniment track for this song, but can't find anywhere. Can you help?
You can find tracks for this at both Multitracks.com and LoopCommunity.com
Where can I find the Sheet music for this version?
Male vocalist?
Likely her husband, Jacob Sooter.
I thought she wrote this..... Then i found out she didnt... Made it a little less awesome.. But still a big blessing
original was written in 1744 by Charles Wesley! but this is Meredith's own arrangement and the bridge is new.
Actually it makes it MORE awesome. A 250 year old hymn that can still bless us with truth, just made a little better!
May we use this in our online worship?
Bruh you don't have to ask permission it's not copyrighted and even if it was as long as your not making money.

The Childs name is EmanuEL, not JE SUS.
I don’t believe Charles Wesley would be too happy with these revisions to his great hymn! I know I’m not. Theologically questionable lyrics added, baby Jesus reaching out to us? What?
Theology is man made
