What Jay is trying to explain here is that opening your hands actually recruits more of your chest CUZ you are taking out a good portion of force and stability off the forearm and your shoulders and pecs are forced to do that extra work, will def. try it
Read what you've said and try make it make sense. Gipping with a closed hand doesn't reduce any of the load your chest is taking. More forearm does not mean less chest.

Pro elite level atheletes like Jay have such a super mind muscle connection that it will do for him. But for common gym bros like us it's better if we try to achieve peak contraction by holding the handles and bringing it together and squeeze

Sometimes I put my forearms on the bars. Kinda simulates a pecdeck.
Can we mix press and fly together? As he said 1 press movement then 1 fly movement and repeat. Please someone clear this out for me.
