Fun fact: The Opening he played is the Queen's Gambit: Alekhine System
Alexander Harmon
Elizabeth Alekhine
No the Alekhine system is e4 in this game e3 is played
If Alekhine was alive today I just know he would have the sickest of chess youtube channels
agreed
Sacrificing on intuition takes incredible confidence, which Morphy, Alekhine, Tal & Kasparov fortunately had & which allowed them to produce so many beautiful brilliancies. Bravo for intuition!
I dont buy that. Alekhine could computer 20 moves in his head. Surely he would check one or two variations.
@@patricksole7519 Alekhine reportedly said afterwards he sacked on intuition without foreseeing all variations.
@@user-kh6xl4yg1j He might have said that to look witty. Does not mean he was sincere .
Doubtful, his comment diminished his own calculating ability. GMs in general like to cultivate the myth that they calculate everything, however, some of the greatest players occasionally admit they calculate to a degree, and if can’t see everything, still will proceed on intuition, particularly when their clock is ticking. Some of Kasparov’s most famous sacrifices were done on intuition and general assessment of position. Seems Alekhine and Tal did so too. Key is having excellent grasp of chess principles, the courage to trust one’s calculations, and to follow one’s intuition for whatever has not been calculated all the way to mate.
Guys , I’m serious
The ending, after hearing what both legends said … gave me goosebumps ❤️
I mean intuition has a role in chess as well, you can't always deduce a result based on calculations
@@TheDigiWorldpeople substitute calculations with intuition. Intuition may be defined as a subconscious calculation.
I love your enthusiasm! You have such a good style, keep up the good work!
Thank you Jack!
I like the way you explain things. I'm 60 and haven't played much since 6th grade. I decided to take it back up to keep my brain working. The way you lay out all the alternative moves and the why of it all are most illuminating. I subscribed and will examine your back catalog. Very good channel.
Honestly far more enjoyably delivered vs any Levy + Agadmator analysis.. the anecdotes are beyond clutch. Super well done and hope for more! All the best Zach!
Great editing style!! I can tell you put a lot of work into this.
You are such fun to watch. Constantly amazed at your own narrative! Nothing sells like enthusiasm…
Once more an amazing game so well analyzed, thank you dude!
i just love these famous chess games videos of yours. i wish to see moreee❤
The ending to that story is so brutal! Love it
Holy shit! The guy really blew up! I have been following since a few hundred subscriptions and I was super he will hit five to six figure subs eventually. Congratulations you earned it! Great content, informative and also very entertaining.
Thank you so very much!
@@thechessnerd no problem! Enjoy the fruits of your hard work!
Great video man!! Would love if u also put PGN of these games in the description.
I honestly think that is the best video you have ever uploaded
i just now clicked on this video and seeing that its 20 minutes makes me feel like its gonna be a spectacular game!
Brilliant video. Your enthusiasm is great.
I love the way you break down these games. I'm familiar with many of the names you mention because as a child I stumbled across a thin paperback by Harry Golombek, a somewhat lesser-known British champion from the same era as Alekhine. Golombek included many games in this book by the masters of his time. To hear these names again via your channel is a real blast from the past.
Amazing presentation in a story form, Zac!! Just please always give the losing player's name & year of the game, without fail:)
GOOD DEEDS DUDE YOU HELP US IN HISTORY OF CHESS ❤️👍 MORE POWER TO YOUR CHANNEL
Even more amazing game of Alekhine is when he played king's gambit and sacrificed his queen
I want to become as passionate in chess as you Zach, but I started late in 16 so it is hard to juggle between irl responsibilities and chess training, hope you earn your success as a master and keep spreading the love for chess!❤
Lol I started at 20
I started at 25
I started 3 months ago
Aljechin was alcohol addicted at the time he played Euwe in the first match. Before the second match he got rid of the bottle. There are stories he misbehaved like Gerard Depardieu....
Love your videos..❤❤from malaysia..your way of narratetting is very humble and clear..😊
Thank you Abdul!
Isn't Alekhine also "acused" of consuming a lot of alcohol during the match he lost against Max Euwe which I could imagine led to the cockiness. Cool vid
Great work again!!This game of grandmaster analyse with all your chess knowledge is very appreciate.Small suggestion Analyse Kasparov games 1 by week just for help us to understand how much brillant was that great GM,fighting chess is my style of play but i think no one i know and i see many grand master games master so much this crucial part of the game!Thank you Zach!
This should be a movie
Last time I won, MY opponent was split into 1,001 pieces!
So fun! I love your stories while presenting to us the most beautiful games ever after 👏👏👏😀
An absolute pin by definition doesn't have to include a battering piece with it. All it requires is pinning a piece to the king.
Your pronunciation of Max Euwe is pretty good! I’m really impressed, much love from the Netherlands! ❤
Any player who voluntarily went into complex postitions vs Alekhine was asking for trouble.
Because TCN is *TERRIBLE* at explaining and clarifying these things, let me help you:
1) Alekhine's opponent is *a Finnish player -- Eero Einar Böök* . (clarifying because he never names him explicitly; weirdly, calls him *"BURKE"* [..or something ?!..] several times in the video...)
2) The game ended at *22:33**, where Black RESIGNED after Alekhine's e5 move.*
Hope this helps you !! :)
Amazing game and amazing presentation! Thank you
The pleasure’s all mine. Thank you 🙏
Thanks for this gem zach!
Very good narration!
19:34 It actually sacrifices FOUR pieces: the bishops on f4 and a4, the queen on d3 and the knight on f7.
Explained very well
That queen sacrifice actually was sacrifice every single piece on the board exept the rook
E5 is a resignable offence 😂😂😂
Such a beautiful gem in chess. Thank you ❤
Alekhine is the type of guy to sacrifice his rook without calculating...
And be right 😂😂
this match gives me claustrophobia
Beautiful mind blowing game.
This game was fascinating and I especially appreciated the conversation at the end between Najdorf and Alekhine. It is reaffirming to me that the moves got so advanced that even these incredible grandmasters needed their intuition rather than solely there calculational skills to choose the best next move. Would Capablanca, Tal or Fisher have done the calculation to the end? What is your guess?
Nice content.. Greetings from the Philippines mabuhay and God bless...
-2400 likes is crazy
Wow that 2400 also unlocked next level editing😊
I like that kind of video in your channel
It's my favorite keep going 😍
Best explanation. Keep it up. 🎉
Your way of telling omg 😂
Man! Yes the gane is insame (pun intended), but your voice is soooooo hypnotically calm! And i thought i was the only one accused of it! Good job!
Shalom an Hello: I like your narrative and your underrated channel ✌️😎👍👌
Love your precise and concise commentary. They help a beginner like me understand how chess should be played. HOWEVER, YOU SPOILED EVERYTHING BY OVER EMPHASISING (OFTEN REPEATING WORDS AND PHRASES UNNECESSARILY. THEN YOU ADD THE EMOTIONAL ELEMENT. The result - a great analysis becomes distracting.
2:00 To refute a gambit, you must accept the gambit first.
Black: OK take this rook and leave me alone, will you?
White: No I am not done with you yet...e5!!
Black: OK I resign! Will you leave me at peace now?
White: I am not done with you yet
Alekhine is a magician player
Goosebumps 🎉
good analysis bro
thank you bro ❤️
would be awesome to see you analise some Mikhail Tal game
funn fact: it was a queens gambit accepted to declined then it changed back to accepted
14:52 amazing fork at c6
Knight on a5 blocks
Amazing story and game.
That’s sick💯
Danm such good game..... while many youtubers are focusing merely on current trendin players you going with the old folks
WHAT A CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY GAME.
People who saw him made a brilliant move by mistake🤣
Alright fuck I don't like most chess pages. The big names really don't do it for me. I can't even enjoy watching hikaru cause he's just too quick for me
But you and Chess Vibes make high level play accessible for my 700 elo ass. So glad I found you both
Petux bləə düz əməlli danış da. Əzilib-büzülmə blət
'The Queen's Gambit is now refuted' I didn't know that, could you provide references or moves? as well as who proclaimed this and approximately when? and for which side, do you mean Black is not supposed to take the pawn if he wants equality, or White is not supposed to play 2.c4 My apologies for asking such a basic question, I have not played for decades, but I am skilled.
15:23 What if the pawn blocks the queen?
There is no way you said the queens gambit is refuted at 2:00 and even if you meant the queens gambit accepted, it is most definitely not refuted. That is completely crazy
QGA is not "rare these days" at all. It is alive and kicking as it always was.
15:40 QH5 IS LITERALLY THE FIRST THING I SAW…. I saw qxe5, bxf6+, qxf6, e5…. Idk if that works
I really liked your films but lets be clear it has been Miguel Najdorf since he moved away. He was Pole and his real name was Mieczysław. :) I'm proud of him.
Bro is the goat
Who all saw e4 coming
Nice video keep it up
I love your videos brother ' keep it up 🎉
Thank you Wedson!
La señorita de aretes como se llama?
Lol even GMs dont know what theyre doing in chess sometimes.
بول مورفي ، الكسندر اليخين ، مايكل تال ، غاري كاسباروف….
Great analysis of the games. I'd suggest that you put the players' names on the screen. Also, no need to remove the board and go full screen on some comments.
Love it dude!
19:49
who knows, i do
These elite players are literally human calculators, it should be humany possible to process do much information and game plan!
I'm a very new player (maybe 10 weeks in), but as said, this level of memory and visualisation shouldn't be within human limits, brains need to be studied.
CAN I SEND YOU GAMES PLAYED IN THE ANCIENT TIME
I have been a fan of Alekhine since first encountering him in Great chess upsets by Samuel Reshevsky.
ARMIA
Those Masters from the past invented the game but we just copy them. That's the truth.😢
Bring anand vs aronian 2013 game
25:55 You meant 1937 when you said 1939. Incidentally, it is illegal to talk about your game during play, even if Najdorf said nothing at the time, Alexander should say nothing during the game.
I learned a lot from your explanation🙃
Now I reached 1512 from 1456
Progress is progress whatever direction it is👏
More aleakhnie
Great
Does anyone know this presenter.
I like your content, but it would be better if you could sit back and talk, show us hand gestures and sooo.
Change the board color and pieces, Use lichess's main board color.
90% in the thumbnail is good but Add the mindblowing move in the game, that will attract more audience.
And the video is tooo lengthy. Max 15-20 min, please refer other channels especially chess guru, agadmator.
Any ways good luck.
Hope you reach 1 million soon.
nice
you are the best
