Loved this Fay, a people without their History is a tree without roots. Well-done. I loved History and studied it at University. The best History book retold by a black man the brilliant Eric Williams is 'From Columbus to Castro, a masterpiece.
I went to Denbigh for the first and last time in 1988. The heat was too much for me, but one good thing - that's where I was introduced to passion fruit drink.
😊..I remember being taken to the Primary School in my little district ..Malton/Robin's Hall, Manchester..we got some metallic cups in shades of green and gold...I was knee high walking with my Papa..❤.😊❤❤
Very nice Fay ... you rock! I miss the festival fashion calls - polka dot etc etc Always wondered how Cherrio Baby even got into the competition let alone win ... lol. 'Unity' and 'Move Up' were first place material ... it's as if we had 3 first places that year. 'Ba Ba Boom' as winner was my favourite for years but Stacious' 'Jamaican Spirit' for 2021 has grabbed my attention.
I wasn’t born in Jamaica however this is my favourite. As it’s the one I remember as growing up which is probably Eric Donaldson My Jamaica (land of my birth )
So many of our culture needs to be rejuvenated, especially 😂for the young ones. I do a Learn~A~Bration in my family to keep it alive. My favorite Festival song is "This Is The Land Of My Birth"
This is great segment on the social history of Jamaica, I loved hearing “rural area” apposite to the bush. I so dislike that term BUSH. Jamaica countryside is breathtaking . Again another attractive term, rural because it signified to me natural and rustic.
Wonderful video as usual!
