Brødrister yes they did. But the Jizyya is not just for not being Muslim. Who told you that ? The Jizzya is a very small tax percentage non Muslims pay. Which non Muslims don’t have to pay ? The women and children didn’t have to pay, elderly people didn’t have to pay. The only ones who payed that tax were men of military age. What was that tax for? It was used to protect the non Muslims from persecution and also the non Muslims didn’t have to go to war with the Muslims and fight with them. Non Muslims were excempt from war under this Muslim rule. And this tax being paid was very very little. Muslims pay 2.5 percent of there wealth every single year to the poor which is one of the 5 pillars of Islam. So in other words the non Muslims christians and Jews were lucky living under Muslim rule since they payed much less than the Muslims. They should be happy. Once the Muslims after 800 years got pushed away by military force, the Muslims said we cannot protect you Jews anymore and they gave the jizzya back to them. The Jews said let us come with you. This is history my friend and no escaping. Even Jewish historians testify to this.
Just understand one thing though. Let’s be consistent. Just because they are non Muslims doesn’t mean they don’t pay any taxes at all. Of course some tax has to be payed so the Muslims could put that money to good use to protect them and give them there rights to practice there religion which is what the Jews did and that’s why they resurrected there history and flourished.

Well as a Shia Muslim I can easily refute the idea of this video by giving the Ayatollah Sistani issues and Friday sermons in Iraq as examples; where he completely emphasizes on diversity between faiths and races in one country. If he wanted he would turn Iraq as an Iran-like regime he would. He had and still has the power for that, yet he did the opposite. And yes of course, you can practice Christianity in Iraq where the Shia live. I even know Iraqi Christians who have love and sympathy towards Muslim holy people like Imam Hussain and Abbas. Not only Christians, even non abrahamic faiths like Yazidi live with us Shias in peace. That's why when the Kurdistan referendum happened the Yazidis stood beside Iraq, they saw help and shelter from the Iraqi Shias during ISIS occupation while the secular Barzani peshmerga left them alone.
1) Shariah Law applies ONLY to Muslims, therefore it will not affect non-Muslims.
2) the person at the Mosque said it was his preference that the whole world becomes Muslim, it's what HE wishes, have you ever thought to ask why?
3) instead of asking someone who doesn't live in the country you wish to practice your religion in, go to the country and see for yourself and get the explanation. The laws here in Europe are different than they are in America, just as they are in the Middle East - here in Europe you're not allowed to carry guns but in the West you can? Nobody bats an eyelid
4) Mads asked if he came to Islam and then left what would happen and the gentleman said under Shariah it is death for apostasy: let's look at it first; a believer is leaving the fold of Islam (and, by the way, it depends heavily on the reason, not just randomly deciding oh I don't want to be Muslim now) and the result is death to the apostate, why would one do it? If I said to you, if you run in the middle of a motorway you'll get knocked over and could die if a car hit you, are you going to do it? It's a deterrent you ignorant people! It's simple! Besides, how many people have been killed for apostasy? I'll wait. There's a so called ex-Muslim in the comments section as well but he's still around to tell everyone! All these other “Hug a Muslim” preachers go about preaching Islam and when confronted by a question about homosexuality, renouncing your religion or feminism, they cave and try to dodge the question or fail to take a firm stand on such subjects. I live in the USA and I hate that argument! “ you’re practicing Islam in my country, but if I go to Saudi Arabia why can’t I practice Christianity?”
Well, firstly, we’re not all from Saudi Arabia and second, Saudi Arabia isn’t a fucking Democracy. The USA is! It’s called freedom of religion. They don’t have that in Saudi Arabia, even though according to Islam, anyone is allowed to practice their own religion freely!

basic core dude, you don’t have your facts straight! Churches can be built in nearly any Muslim country except for Saudi Arabia! There are thousands of churches everywhere in Muslim countries, you’re just ignorant and bias to what is true. Saudi Arabia believes that they should keep their country mainly Islamic, it’s a monarchy, they do what they want. Besides, it’s where Islam was born, making it a holy state! You think the Vatican would allow anyone to build a Mosque in Vatican City??! No!
