Fun fact that people may or may not know: a lot of Nightwing’s moves are based on real martial arts. I take lessons and we were actually practicing with batons just yesterday. We did a lot of the same stuff he does. His more idle stance with both of the batons at his right, with one over his shoulder, for example. Or at 0:36 when he flares them out with one to the front and one behind him. Those movements (and probably some more that I didn’t catch because of the speed) are nearly identical to what we were doing in class. I just thought it was really cool that the developers seem to have done their research.
All of them use real martial arts Capoeira and Kali for Nightwing Judo and Gun Kata for Red Hood Bōjutsu for Robin And Batgirl being a more well rounded fighter using Muay Thai , boxing , and taekwondo plus the added bonus of her Tonfa . They all pretty much use mma in some way but this is their main styles
@@phantom3146 i mean you're right to say all the characters use real martial arts, but Gun Kata for red hood isn't actually a thing IRL. Gun Kata was invented specifically to look cool. There's so many factors that go into shooting a gun that Gun Kata is pretty much impossible as of rn
“The combat in this game is slow and clunky, it’s too simplistic, it’s one button based, there’s no lock on feature, it’s worse than Arkham, it’s unfun, it looks goofy, it looks floaty, bad guys are damage sponges” Translation: You’re not good at it. You didn’t learn it. You didn’t master it. You didn’t even play it. Your pick.
"bad guys are damage sponges" Hilarious thing is that legendary mods don't even start dropping until level 30. How can you say you explored a character's damage potential when you failed to unlock half of the gear rarities? 😂
Nah, the combat isn't as deep as Arkham. And yes, it is slow and clunky. Half the time your character targets something else other than what you're facing. That said, the impacts are solid, and the abilities can be fun to play around with. I'm in NG plus on HARD mode and the game is piss easy. Sometimes I nerf myself by wearing my least powerful gear just to give the bad guys a chance. GK is a flawed but somewhat interesting experience. Feels like the devs had the right ideas but lackluster execution. It bleeds mediocrity at it's worst, AND best
@@samuelhunter4631 you’re simply wrong. What you described was someone playing the game wrong. Arkham holds your hand. Button mash, counter, stun. Then occasionally electrocute someone. Not deep at all. If you’re not seeing fast and hard hitting none clunky combat from GK then you’re playing wrong. You can go just as fast as any superhero game if you know what you’re doing. The difference is it’s actually a challenge to look cool in combat. Games like Arkham and Spider-Man can be easily mastered by anyone. Love those games but they’re very easy. GK brings back an edge to video games that have been absent for years. Let’s play online sometime if you’re on PlayStation. I want to see this “slow and clunky” combat.
@@jbstudios3000 I think the issue is that we try games like these you want to feel like the character not have to learn. Action adventure beat ‘em ups are supposed to be fun, an experience not something you play right or wrong. With the this type of game with these type of characters “playing wrong” shouldn’t be a thing anyone should be able to master it so anyone can have their experience of feeling like Batman, Spider-Man, Goku etc. with that bein said still make it as challenging as you can without taking from their experience of us living out our childhood dreams. From what I’ve seen & heard I think Gotham knights just knocks you out of that immersion of “being” nightwing or red hood because I can say even with this mastered maxed out nightwing he still looks clunky like there’s something slow about him that shouldn’t be there similar to how the avengers Spider-Man plays.
What sucks about this game is they went with Avengers rng earnings. They probably thought how "successful" was Avengers and wanted to put MT in but after seeing being a failure and really grindy they went with not including MT in. It's very visible that the skins and colors are part of MT. They should've seen Insomniac's Spider-Man and made it to earn on the way of solving crimes instead of grinding on same just to get what you want. Whoever came with these ideas in the first place should be fired and never get accepted in any job. Games are supposed to be fun. Not to be a boredom grind.
I mailed robin him maxed out is invincible max out the first 2 skill trees and the 3rd don't mind the knighthood then go collect tons of clues get the best armor and boom oh also throw on some mods
Bought it for $30 during Steam's Christmas sale, and that's probably the right price for it. I've been having a blast with it, but I can honestly say that it's not worth $60.
Yo dude I see that a lot of your vids are really short, I think they’ll get more traction and attention if you just upload them as shorts, I recommend looking into it just some food for thought man 🔥 might get the game thanks to u
Nope. It's very grindy filled with rng to get items. It's exactly same as Avengers, except they regretted for putting MT & rng and solved the biggest issue which WB Montreal didn't. It takes so much time just to get that skin you love the most (excluding Pack skins).
Not even close. Spider-Man combat is based on Batman Arkham City-Knight. GN is on the level of Avengers combat. I know from the experience because i played them.

can you imagine a skill tree just for that

yeah its called arnis aka eskrima
All his moves have to be mocap-ed, so they most likely got an Eskrima fighter to do the moves.

That looked too fun…
Yeah! Nightwing becomes really fun once you get that speedboost ability.

Same! It's weird that no one talks about it though, it's so much fun to use.
