JJK is super Japanese. Idk how to explain that, like it just has this Japanese-ness to it more than the majority of anime out there. Japan is also very into Hip-Hop culture. It's really big over there so this could be the reason why it's surprisingly hood.

Todo is my favorite character in JJK. Hubby material for SURE. I definitely recommend getting into this show if you’ve been on the fence. It’s a great one with a lot of great combat and martial arts, and yeah, they utilize jumping which is rare in shonens. Actually, just anime/manga in general probably. Like you said, it’s much more realistic that way and helps the viewer really immerse themselves into the story (rather than yelling at the side characters all standing around watching their boy get absolutely handled, and not lifting a finger to help 😅🤣🤦🏼♀️ that just pulls me right out of it 🤣).
mahito is a top tier villian who is evil just to be evil, at one point during the season, yuji screams at mahito ''WHO ARE YOU!'' dudes reply is ''YOU DONT HAVE TO YELL I CAN HEAR YOU YJI ITADORI'' like thats top quality sarcasm from someone who just gets enjoyment out of watching others suffer. its a great line that really shows you what mahito is about as a character imo
