      Not easy to keep track of those anti-spectacle guys, It's a big movement of oppression ya know... research has shown that an estimated 80% of all male 4th graders world-wide has a gripe with people with glasses. With the female population under13 it's even sadder as this demographic has a large portion of self loathing glass-bearers that hide their own poor eyesight identity and join in the oppression of other girls with spectacles.

    You know those playing cards where you compare stats of things like tanks or cars and the one with the higher specific stat wins? I feel like that would work perfectly for dictators. Nguema campaigned on an ultra-nationalist platform. His opponent in the 68 presidential election Bonifacio Ondó Edu had been the prime minister (Nguema's boss) during the last years of colonial rule. Edu was from a privileged family and was a moderate, campaigning on a liberal platform. It was a tight election that went into a run-off where Nguema won by a narrow margin. Edu was either imprisoned and 'committed suicide' a few months later, or he went into exile and was murdered when he returned in 1969 - there are no definitive records.

    • @oliverschwarz4288
      @oliverschwarz4288 6 лет назад +1

      Now for the "why" part.
      In the 16th century anabaptists, led by Jan Matthys, declared Münster the "New Jerusalem". They expelled all catholics/protestants, which was not well received by the rest of the church/Holy Roman Empire. Soon they assembled a large army and besieged Münster. Jan Matthys thought nothing of it and on Easter Sunday 1534 he rode out with twelve of his best men to end the siege. While his men were cut down and his own manhood was nailed to one of the city's gates, Jan of Leiden rose to the occasion and declared himself King of Münster. He established polygamy, decapitaded one of his 17 wives, burned all the books, killed naysayers and lived happily in his Kingdom of Zion.
      That was until 1535 when Jan and his fellows were captured, imprisoned, tortured, killed and exhibited in a cage hung from the church's steeple. You can still see the cages today.

      Thing is that Reddit won't allow us to start subreddits ourselves. It falls under the ban on self promotion at Reddit. They already slapped us on the wrist for merely posting a DicKtionary video in another subreddit (a relevant one at that) and we got also got slapped for sharing brand new reddit links on FB so that they got votes before they were fully visible on Reddit. For us to do it, we'd have to start faking accounts and stuff like that, and that's not our style. We like to keep it straight. As a result we've backed off from Reddit on their suggestion waiting for our community to do it organically. So if you would, we would be most grateful.

    Carmiña (little Carmen) was the Spanish brand chocolate made in Rio Muni. Also ColaCao and chocolate covered peanuts Conguitos. The production completely dissapeared at the time of this guy sworn in. It was the only place left in "Spain", were interracial relationships were allowed. When he got in power, he threw all white people from the land and interracial couples were separated by the black ones forced to stay there and the white ones, thrown out. Spain sent boats and planes to pick up every white person there. My mixed friend Maria Josa, was only 2 months old, her white mother was able to take her out of there by hiding her in her hand luggage. Her African husband, was killed by Macias thugs because he worked for the Spanish government. In a fascist regime like Franco's in Spain, no one really cared much about what a crazy African man was doing to his own people, but at the time of his execution, it was all over the Spanish news. Spain hoped to restore good relations with its former colony, but to no avail. At the end of the 1980's Spain started accepting native African refugees from E.G. with a speedy path to citizenship. Amazing that they were so deprived of culture, because from all the Spanish ex colonies, they are the only ones who speak perfect Castilian Spanish, even the poorest of the poorest. Imagine people from Nigeria, speaking the same way the queen of England does? That's how E.G people speak like, in perfect academic Spanish.

    Colonial Rule: usually the lesser evil. The only colonial administration I can think of as bad as a lot of decolonized administrations was the Belgian Congo and the only long term colony I can think of to wind up a free nation under native rule is India.
    It's almost like the colonial government was usually removed in a rushed fashion before the native civil service was properly established.

      It's not like the colonizers care what happens once they no longer need it.

      Haven't Europe went through centuries of violent dictators during its early period? Every nation must go through violent stages before reaching stability. No need to remark that colonial rule was better, that is just silly and condescending as if Europeans are better.

      Hunter deja I don’t claim to know why countries tend to be very violent during their early stages, nor do I by no shape or form think it’s an excuse for dictators. I am simply pointing out a common rhythm that every nation state seems to go through. France went through some extremely bloody stages where sick dictators would inflict horrible tortures on their citizens. Some of them have even written that they receive enormous pleasures from watching people suffer. At last, look at France now, a peaceful, beautiful country.

      Durring World War 2, the Bengal famine killed 2.1 to 3 million people, while food was exported to the British war effort.

      brett knoss Yeah I’m very aware of what the British have done to India during that famine. They also forced the country to pay 450,000,000 pounds to maintain the British Troops in India and an additional $1,000,000 to British bureaucrats in India. But the gentlemen apparently felt colonial rule was « better ». Colonization is a sick thing but thankfully humans will outgrow that behavior.
