    that is not a vacuum.

"Vacuum" is defined as air pressure below atmospheric pressure
      .
      0% vacuum = 760 torr = 14.7 psia = 29.92 inc mercury abs = 101.4 kPa abs.
At the summit of Mount Everest pressure is about 253 Torr = 4.89 psia = 9.96 inc mercury abs = 33.72 kPa abs.
The summit of Mount Everest is about 8.48 kilometers above sea level. At 1 minute and 27 seconds after liftoff, the Saturn V has reached an altitude of 14.7 kilometers above sea level. So yes. It is in a vacuum.

@@rwj1313 A vacuum is NOT defined as " pressure below atmospheric pressure". . A vacuum is defined as an area devoid of resistance.
You need resistance for a rocket to work and 14.7 km is WELL within the Earths atmosphere. the usable atmosphere for Rocket thrust on Earth is 90,000ft to 135,000 ft. If a rocket goes a bit higher than that it is because of momentum only. Werner Non Braun discovered that in 1943. And so had to relocate the entire V2 site to Antwerp. and the laws of physics have not changed since.

@@boptah7489 The word vacuum has multiple definitions. In engineering and applied physics vacuum refers to any space in which the pressure is considerably lower than atmospheric pressure. A rocket does NOT need resistance to work. If you believe that then your understanding of physics is delving into flat earth territory.

@@rwj1313 A vacuum , means only one thing. You cannot create any pressure in a vacuum for starters and so your definitions are just fraud.
ALL forms of physical force REQUIRE interaction with their immediate environment for movement. A bird interacts with the Air , A fish with water, A car with the rd , etc. There are no exceptions to this rule. It is actually Newtons third law. and is also part of the conservation of energy principle. . If there is no resistance. then there is no move, ent possible with a physical force. .......the end
The Earth is an oblate spheroid. I do not know why you have bought the shape of the Earth into it. . I don't think physics is your subject.
