I'm a year late, but...I watched this anime because of a girl. Someone who was basically to me what Kaori was to Kousei. I'm fucking damaged. Have been for years. I've done work to break through, but I was always so uptight and monotone. Just black and white. Then this last year...around this time, I met a girl. She was light incarnate. She taught me so much about how to see the world and better express myself. We were lovers. We got further than kaori and Kousei got. I'm thankful for that. But. This girl...well....she didn't die. But who she was died. The bright and colorful person she was died. The person who was excited about the world and life. Who was so enthusiastic. Who could be trusted at her word and who you knew would be there and was just amazing. Just died. Replaced with this mockery of her. Who lied and wasn't faithful and threw away everything that brought her life meaning. Who decided to reinvent herself into someone she wasn't and is now a state away. This mockery left me here. This music is like a way I reclaim who I am and what I am without her. Thank you for your music and the story you tell with your fingers.
Hang in there dude, all that’s happened is all just a part of life and ultimately you get to decide what to do next with it. You seem to be going in the right direction: finding your peace in the world and using it to work through your issues, and ,with time, you’ll come the other side a better man. I will say though, if you still love this girl and you think that she is redeemable, you should try to show her what she once showed you: all the color and joy that life has to give and see what great things you can make with it. Honestly, I hope that no matter what, everything works out for you. Edit(5 months): Hey dude, hope you’re still doing okay. I often find myself back here every couple of weeks or so to check on this comment just to wonder if you updated on your status or something. I find it a little funny that I become so concerned with the life of a random stranger on the internet, but I guess that’s what makes us human. To be honest, I don’t entirely know why I’m writing this edit other than to get my thoughts out there. I guess all that I have to say that if you seem to have nothing else, you have this random stranger rooting for you. Stay strong and see you on the flip side.
I know she may be gone now, but keep moving forward no matter how hard it may, with or without her, people in life come and go but you should always know that they have a limited time or not because that’s life’s game. People will enter your life to show you the right way, either you change them or they change you forever and maybe it was just your time together had come to end but you’re moving in the right direction! Please keep going, be the best version of yourself for your memory of the girl that once inspired you to live your life and be colorful but do it for yourself in the end, that girl was a blessing and she is hard to come by. She reminds me of a butterfly that caught your attention but I’m assuming you’re better now, don’t forget her but never lose track of the path that lies ahead of you and never look down, because just like Kaori said, you look taller when you look up and are hopeful. I only just got into anime recently and this came highly recommended and I can't say enough good things about it. My situation from Kousei is different, but the results are the same...I can't play anymore after my son committed suicide. Almost two years have passed, but I can't do more than play a few scales before I have to get up and walk away from the piano...the last time I actually learned a piece was to play for his 1 year death anniversary...now less than 2 months to the 2nd anniversary and this anime comes into my life and I want to play again...I want to live again, to laugh and see the beauty of the world around me, rather than keep on living as this miserable lump of flesh. Thank you, Fonzi M. I'll get this album on itunes today, I want to listen to it on my ipod while I go everywhere to help keep up my spirit from sinking into despair:)

This is the best anime show ever made!!! Mades me cry bunch if times, as a musician, I believe in music power to make people’s emotional... even if it is a happy piano sound, it also speak sadness, just listen and think if something you probably want to accomplish or you already did it and you feel proud of yourself!! You’ll feel it.

I really don't dare to watch the last episode, I'm afraid if I have to face it. I've never watched a long anime, but I watch it because of a girl, while my current life is just black and white, full of pressure, sometimes I even want to die, but i met a girl, an old friend, she came to me, showed me what is called happiness, the color of life. Love that is separated by death is really sad, I hate watching it, the last episodes, but I also hope that I can bring something gentle to her, show her the intense love when she is with me, even though both of our hearts have been broken.
