I love how ford fanboys think immediately that we only like Holden, but actually there are a number of fords I’d take in a heartbeat over some commodores. VE’s, VZ’s, VN’s and VK’s will always hold that top spot in my heart though, especially my 2007 VE SV6 manual and 1985 VK Calais converted to a V8 with 331 stroker. Haaa. Cykoid Yep, Holden/HSV has been inferior model for model for about a decade now. The VF is better interior wise than the FG, but that's because it's a generation ahead. Performance wise, the FPVs always beat the HSVs.
I think the emissions laws fucked it all up! Imagine a Tickford T3 with a blower on it. Ford should never have taken the xr8 off the line for the gs. They didnt need a GT, GT-P a GT-E. needed xr8, GT, GT-HO. Xr6, xr6t, F6 and F6X, Fairlane/ghia, and a base model. Should have built a coupe too. And all models except F6X, GT-HO , and Fairlane in ute variants

If Ford put the Amercian Mustang GT350 engine in a Falcon, would that make Ford the fastest and most powerful in Australia? The GTS is so ugly. I'm surprised people buy it with that styling. However it's performance is fantastic, and the interior is far superior to the GT F's. The GT F looks great, sounds better and is more exclusive, but I'm disappointed they didn't put a actual 351 in it. I would take the FPV, simply because of the name. GT F 351, most badass name ever!!

Better weight distribution and lower centre of gravity, then it would top the europeans for sure. maybe HSV should do a Limited edition GTS-R and if they get enough orders bring it into production. Dry sump and mount the engine lower Transaxle Carbon finer drive shaft Carbon fiber roof Bucket seats work on weight reduction (coil overs, exhaust, ect….remove self parking) maybe carbon brakes of the corvette (but that may be pushing it) ? then we get the fasted production 4 door car in the world (now that means around a track) Take it to the Nurburgring put against the best 4 doors the world has to offer. Now fastest means around a track, the world is full of corners no could having a car that doesn't handle properly, thats what makes a performance car. Please HSV build this, even as a concept only to show us how good it could be if you guys went all out.

I am usually a huge fan of Ford, my current and previous car was Ford, (ive only had 3 cars) I have also driven and spent much time in my Dads previous Holden Calais and Ford LTD. I was just suggesting comparing the models it looks as if Ford has put in little effort compared to the Holden.

A year ago I never would have looked at a ford, always thought they were an ugly car compared to the commodore.. but in the past year I've owned 4 and would never go back, the only thing Holden has ever had on ford is their interior has always had a better fit and finish.. but as for handling and driving the ford is a much better car and goes harder, put these cars on a track and I would bet everything I own on the ford coming first as most commodores don't like to go around corners. Sometimes power isn't everything when you can't turn. And the V series auto is so lazy, by the time it shifts a gear it's nearly Christmas.

I know this because I have a hsv with a lot more power than a standard gts and have friends with fpv v8 and 6 cylinder turbo engines 👍
King of Australian muscle cars? There is no king when you sit the HSV next to a HO, it looks more like a princess. Ford muscle cars, (the true muscle cars that is) are the kings which is why you pay close to 1m for a HO and and as seen recently over 300k for a barn find XA coupe, Fords will always come first when it comes to the high value stakes, that makes them the kings of the true muscle cars simply because they where considered (and still are) the true muscle of their generation and this one. Hats off to the toranas and the Brockies guys but they still don’t drum up the same emotion and intent as the falcon GTs of what is known as the muscle car era. Don’t get me wrong this Ford is a disappointment and the HSV is a better car in this short era but if Ford in all their wisdom chucked a 429 SCJ into this GT I’m sure the results would have been very different, 6.2 vs 5.0, it’s a bs comparison in reality when it comes to 0-100 or quarter mile run.

The HSV delivers full torque at 4200rpm.....very unsupercharger like. I had a supercharged Magna (the Sprintex Magna)......it delivered full torque from 1500rpm. Now that's pulling....and it was AWD. Nothing beat it off the line.....
Well the Sprintex was lucky to produce 250-275nm at 1500rpm as full torque was 422nm at 4000rpm. The GTS is making 540nm at 1500rpm or 740nm at 4200rpm
the sad thing is on a mountain road my Toyota GT86 with its 147kw is probably quicker than both of them. I like both though im a Ford guy but they are just to heavy

Ford and Holden's are for drag racing you can drive them quick on a mountain but a light weight car will corner quicker.

The Coyote makes it's power far more efficiently given the much smaller displacement and overall is a far better piece of modern engineering - when the last GTS rolls off the Holden showroom all it's going to be is the last ever GTS, whereas the GT will always be synonymous with Australia and motoring legend - both are great bang for buck, especially with a quick and cost effective re tune, but Mad max wouldn't be caught dead in a Holden!!

Peak power figures on a dyno a almost meaningless its more whats going on under the peak of the curve that matters which is why the GTS beats the GTF in 0-100 and 1/4 mile, it has more power and torque throughout the rev range

Gtf is only better on dyno, but 1/4 mile and track race, suspension, technology, and ride gts kills it. But gts is very thirsty

@@SkiRacingOz it's not that close a gts will win comfortably every time if they are standard and the Ford only has 650 NM and only when in overboost the hsv has 740 NM and gets the power down better. I know this because I have a hsv with a lot more power than a standard gts and have friends with fpv v8 and 6 cylinder turbo engines 👍

King of Australian muscle cars? There is no king when you sit the HSV next to a HO, it looks more like a princess. Ford muscle cars, (the true muscle cars that is) are the kings which is why you pay close to 1m for a HO and and as seen recently over 300k for a barn find XA coupe, Fords will always come first when it comes to the high value stakes, that makes them the kings of the true muscle cars simply because they where considered (and still are) the true muscle of their generation and this one. Hats off to the toranas and the Brockies guys but they still don’t drum up the same emotion and intent as the falcon GTs of what is known as the muscle car era.
Don’t get me wrong this Ford is a disappointment and the HSV is a better car in this short era but if Ford in all their wisdom chucked a 429 SCJ into this GT I’m sure the results would have been very different, 6.2 vs 5.0, it’s a bs comparison in reality when it comes to 0-100 or quarter mile run.

Yes the HSV torque figure. The gtf starts huge torque at not much above idle....you didn't mention that. Also you mentioned 404 kW in transient over boost for the gtf but what is the transient over boost torque figure.....answer the 5 litre rivalling the 6.2 litre.

The HSV delivers full torque at 4200rpm.....very unsupercharger like. I had a supercharged Magna (the Sprintex Magna)......it delivered full torque from 1500rpm. Now that's pulling....and it was AWD. Nothing beat it off the line.....

Well the Sprintex was lucky to produce 250-275nm at 1500rpm as full torque was 422nm at 4000rpm. The GTS is making 540nm at 1500rpm or 740nm at 4200rpm

Ford and Holden's are for drag racing you can drive them quick on a mountain but a light weight car will corner quicker.

The Coyote makes it's power far more efficiently given the much smaller displacement and overall is a far better piece of modern engineering - when the last GTS rolls off the Holden showroom all it's going to be is the last ever GTS, whereas the GT will always be synonymous with Australia and motoring legend - both are great bang for buck, especially with a quick and cost effective re tune, but Mad max wouldn't be caught dead in a Holden!!
