I definitely understand the “no’s” as it’s a health and safety and liability thing, but that last location could be an independent franchise maybe? I hope they don’t get in trouble! But that’s cool of them! And I hope they got lots of promotion for it! 😀

I hope the guy who let you cook your own meal was the owner. Because if he wasn't and his bosses see this video, he'll be fired on the spot. The reason customers can't cook their own meals is because of insurance liability. If their insurance provider sees this video, that restaurants insurance premiums just doubled.
Hay! That's a Hawiian BBQ he gets to cook his food at! Hawiian BBQ is literally my favorite kind of food. There are tons of places that have food like that. It's crazy that I actually recognized it in the video. I'm so happy!!! 😂💙
It’s cuz you need the food serv certificate and you need to be processed as an employee to be covered properly under their insurance in case something happens to you. That’s why you’re not supposed to be behind counters when you’re off company time. To be covered, you need to explain to them why you were back there cooking, so if you had no business being on the work floor, the company will be liable financially. Cuz remember businesses pay for insurance to cover accidents, if any. So technical hard to explain on text but I geeked out a bit here lmao
That store owner is gonna be piiiiiissed. If he would have messed up any part of the equipment or stole food, he wouldn't be legally liable since he's not an official company employee.
I worked as a boba shop chef, we had some pretty crazy procedures that might not apply to other shops, but the boba we made for example cooked and simmered for over an hour and then soaked in a syrup bath for 2 hours, so you would’ve been there for a while if it was anything similar lol. I had to show up 4 hours before we opened to start cooking 💀
Most ingredients take under 10 minutes to make though. Mochi is fast but extremely complicated to make and burns very easily, it takes people quite a few tries to perfect it without burning.
When you put the food on the plate, That Food looked familiar to me. Hawaiian BBQ, I love that place. I also eat it in "Chino". Bc i Live Not That far away
Bro I need to go to that one asian restaurant and get the chicken tonkatsu with the cabbage salad again, it’s so so good. Addicting, I know that’s overplayed, but it really is.

That’s like asking a cab driver if you can drive you own trip.
Understandably there are liability and health/safety reasons involved.
