Well, her voice change radicaly !
Big changements are in the end of 2013 her voice was not really nasal and the weed on her vocals chords started
In 2015 she lost her very high belted notes for better control on her mid belt and her low
In 2019 she had a reinke's endemma and a surgery
In 2020 her voice was raspy af ;-;
In 2021 her technique improved compare to 2020 and idk if she is a contralto but her lows are incredibly incredible ;-;
The big changements that we can notice for all those years is that her voice gets lower and lower since 2013 ;-; at the beginning it was the weed and after it was an endemma ;-;
Idk if we can say that it's sad that her voice change like this but some people like and some people dislike 🤷♂️

Raspiness is always some kind of vocal chord damage. And Miley had a vocal surgery, but I think her voice became more deeper. Vocal nodules and even scarring could happen. Anyway Miley is a great singer, she works with great vocal coaches now. But in an interview she said, maybe the lack of rest did that it whit his vocal chords, because when she was young she stayed up late, even though she had a big concert and smoked etc.
Actually, rasp can be intentional. In this case, Miley's voice is raspier because of her surgery (which had to be done because of lack of vocal rest, as well as excessive smoking and drug use). Singers like Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande frequently used/use intentional rasp (even after the Rainbow era, when her voice was well-rested, Mariah's belts were still sort of raspy; Ariana also adds a lot of rasp nowadays when she mixes).

The power in her belts reminds me of Whitney Houston and her twang yodel-ish sound reminds me of Celine. Too bad she doesn't wanna try to learn their singing style.
Maybe she doesn't wanna sing in those styles anymore because it's simply not her. She has sung in similar styles many times before for so many years and I think she's just done and wants to move on to the next thing. Miley's evolution is probably one of the most unique and beautiful evolutions I've ever seen. 😊❤️

i am sorry for her, just for the fact she could have been saved from someone who knows voice tracks, exercise, but a lot of time ago, almost in the bangerz tour, cause, in my opinion, it ruined Miley’s voice just for the fact she screamed a lot…and how is that possible? i mean that no one told her that wasn’t good and healthy for her voice?
