  • Sorry about my hiatus, but I have been flying every few days for weeks on end and my life has been crazy!!! Filmed in 4K Ultra HD using an LG G3 Smartphone. BOO to UNITED for leaving Dallas Love Field. So, I moved on to newer and better things. Virgin America to be exact. UA thinks I will schlep over to DFW Airport. Forget about it!!! I really like VX. This landing we have AWESOME close up view of Downtown Dallas. I never got to fly this close to Downtown Dallas on CO/UA as we always landed on the other runway. Also the Trinity River is full which is rare. This is a Virgin America Airbus A319 landing at Dallas Love Field. This flight originated at Austin International Airport.

    Welcome back! So I'm under the assumption that UA will only be used for international travel now? And VX for domestic (where they serve). If so, that actually sounds like a good deal. From what I hear VX has a very good product. Glad to see you on a different airline now!

      Bo Simmons Thanks man! I will still use UA for international travel, and bit my lip and go to DFW when I need to go somewhere VX can't take me. I'm not flying AA or DL so I'm stuck with UA. I love VX.

    jetsletter I hope your aware that an airlines pilot doesn't necessarily get to decide how high or low they fly on approach it was simply a coincidence that virgin america had been flying lower than United and landing on a different side of the runway

      Bo Simmons Thanks man. I have not. I live in one of the highest places in all of Dallas County. I live in Lake Highlands. If my place floods, it would be the end of the world lol.

    Great vdo. UA only in Houston. DFW is most AA hubs. I am excited to fly VX in next month from LAS to SFO and to SEA. ^_^

    Just FYI, the Airline brand does not dictate what altitude the airplane flies while at cruise or during the approach to landing phase. But it has all to do with air traffic control and national airspace regulations.

    Cool I live not too far from that airport. Planes get low over my house and I wonder what they are thinking looking down lol.

    As you said Virgin landed in an interesting way

    The altitude of the approach is NOT determined by the airline as you stated. It is determined by ATC and STARS which tell the pilot how to make the approach. Maybe because Virgin America flies a much bigger plane into DAL then United did it has a perception that is was higher. Also it was a straight in approach which is determined by a glide slope and navigational aids so they were any higher or lower then any normal approach on that runway. If anything by tens of feet.

    united left all because it couldn't keep its gates at love field that figures

    • @FlyJetsetter
      @FlyJetsetter  9 лет назад

      ilovedisney35 United left because Southwest gave them a ridiculous and I mean freaking ridiculous amount of money to lease the UA gates.

    Awesome vid, Cabins in Airbus aircraft seem more quiet to me.
    Although I haven't bee through Love Field since 2012, it's still my favorite airport

      ikolkyo Yup! It sucks big time. I HATE DFW airport!!!!! It is too far and too big and just hot mess. Southwest gave UA an offer they could not refuse.

      +✈ Jetsetter ✈ United sucks. I once flew them nonrev from SLC to PHX by way of SFO back in 2002, and it was terrible. You aren't missing anything.
