Brian Can't was a wonderful man he is sadly missed but never forgotten by any of us that grew up watching him on programs like Bric-A-Brac, Playschool, Play Away and his narration on Trumpton, Campbellwick Green, Chigley and his last program i remember watching him on Dappeldown Farm which was shown on Channel 5. Bric-A-Brac was shown as part of the early afternoon BBC Two weekday preschool slot called 'See-Saw' it was shown along with other programs like Postman Pat, Gran, Pigeon Street, King Rollo, Chock-A-Block and Heads and Tails. Even though i was well above the pre-school age back then i loved all of these programs and still do. It's just a pity the BBC still can't produce great, simple and gentle programs to watch like these anymore, I'll never forget them all that's for sure.
It was Camberwick Green actually, but of course I know what you mean. As you say, Brian Cant was either in or narrated all these series of old, of which many of us remember at the time when they were on either BBC1 or BBC2 back in those days. See-Saw indeed was the BBC's children series name as far as I know between 1980 and 1989. It replaced the Watch with Mother strand, and in turn was replaced later on by the Children's BBC and then CBBC strands as far as I know. Thank you anyway!!
Brian cant and Johnny ball were two of my favourite children's broadcasters from growing up in the 80s. Legends from an era when you had to wait an eternity for the kids programme to come on your telly, usually after 'pebblemill'. Not many fat kids then as there was no remote control either.

The Superman IV deleted scenes brought me here for this shows' theme tune that was used as a temp track for the Nuclear Man 1 sequence in their rough cut.
@@CuriousBritishTelly Thank you! Yes, it has been on the DVD and Blu-Ray releases but not in their finished state. Unfortunately the deleted scenes are in very poor condition with temp tracks used for certain scenes. The Nuclear Man 1 sequence somehow had this shows' theme tune as the characters' theme, which felt very out of place as the original score was not available for the 2006 releases at the time.
I remember the mechanical tiger quite well, I used to think he was a bit sinister. Brian had some pretty old toys at the end of each programme, the credits suggest they came from the museum of London.
I wonder if he or the show had any link to Tim Hunkin? Tim Hunkin worked for the Science Museum in London making wind up clocks etc and produced The Secret Life of Machines. I wrote him for research paper in highschool and he wrote responses on my sheet and sent his picture too!

Loved this show, bryan was great on Play away such talent, nice we still have a few shop like this in real life,and you can find a few gems.
