Kudos to Paul! He’s the only one I would watch during this storm. He kept us calm without ask the hype. He was the only weather man saying he doesn’t believe the surge is going to be as bad as everyone’s making it out to be. He clearly doesn’t want ppl to overreact. Everyone else does. For that I say thank you.

I live in Lakeland, Polk County.... The wind is crazy, bursts of hard thrusts. It's 1:30AM now. Rain has been steady. I drained some water from pool at 6:30pm, and I was scared being out in crazy winds. Our power went out at 9pm. My mom's on oxygen, so I'm praying I have enough gas tanks to suffice till power returns.
Continues to be like that here in Bradenton for the last 16+ hrs

I am at Disney World waiting out the hurricane in a hotel here until Saturday. Animals are all screaming!! Especially the elephants. They are all safe and sheltered, but they are freaking the eff out

In Hernando weeki wachee only lite rain and wind . Nothing significant.
Jacksonville is like a castle, and the other counties are our walls. Cause the Gulf of Mexico is always getting trucked, Jacksonville is on the east near the north edge. So my thoughts are always with the west over my own safety

Thank you for your calm and professional demeanor Paul. I evacuated to near Orlando and am stuck watching another local news network. It is disgusting how much excitement they put in their coverage. I know this is the weather man’s Super Bowl but these are peoples lives that are being effected. I know they don’t really enjoy peoples suffering but they really need to pay attention to the way they present themselves.
