    WOW....we are going to have a GREAT TIME on this Tour. I"ll point out many places of interest, great areas to live, and even take a moment or two to look at some real estate in the Tinamaste and Platanillo areas to give you an idea of what is available. I really hope you enjoy this ride and I look forward to finding out....what you think about this Dominical to San Isidro Road.

      @Bonnie V Nothing is going on in Canada, same as everywhere. It is world wide what the government is doing. The only thing going on is the government. Advice? Never take the vaccine and never even take a test. It is the tests and the vaccines that are going to spread disease. You can look it up. Many people are warning against the vaccine and against the tests. Avoid all pharmakia if you can. You can look up what pharmakia is too - hint: it is evil. Natural remedies are what the Creator intended for His people.

    There are two Platanillos. The one you are passing is Platanillo de Baru, county (canton) Perez Zeledon, district (distrito) Baru, in San Jose province (that is where I live). The listings you are showing are from the other Platanillo in Puntarenas province, about 30 km from here. At least that is what the listings say, unless the listings are incorrect. Platanillo in Puntarenas province is located just off the Costanera Sur, on the way to Quepos.

    Might have to plan a UTV trip from Montezuma, with our Honda club next January. We have the same UTV's that you show at the beginning of your video. How long would it take to drive from the Puntarenas Ferry Terminal to San Isidro? Could you do it in 1 day? Might need to track you down for a few "Apple Juices!"

    • @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica
      @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica  3 года назад +1

      I just checked the map and you could make it in one day no problem. Google maps say....4 hours and 38 min from where the ferry drops you off at the Naviera Tambor Port to San Isidro. So, it would be a fun day trip, enjoy the night at a BnB and then head back the next day. Sharing a few Apple Juices might be a good enough reason to make the trip. He he

      Not much in Dominical, but it is only 45 min to San Isidro where you can get everything or go up the coast to Quepos...There you can get most of what you need but not nearly as easy as going to San Isidro in my opinion. The ONLY Walmart on this side outside of San Jose is in San Isidro.

      Usually...it is 6 & 6. During rainy season...almost always in the clouds. During dry season, it's usually clear and beautiful, but occasionally gets cloudy during the unusual rains...but they are NOT that unusual for higher climates. (if that makes sense.) Lol

  • @DcArmy9015
    @DcArmy9015 3 года назад +1

    Not to be sarcastic, I like how you say the reflectors are missing or nearly never installed, to me thats normal. You see in climates where the temp is favorable for snow they do not use reflectors as the snow plough would just tear them off. So in short I have never seen them where I have lived in Canada so that is fine by me, no more dangerous than now..lol

    • @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica
      @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica  3 года назад

      That is interesting... I can see WHY it makes sense to NOT install them in Canada. The snow plows would just ruin them. BUT...in Costa Rica, why NOT put them down to help keep people safe? However, it is what it is...and like you say, it's normal in Costa Rica.
      Thanks for that insight.

      @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica  3 года назад

      @Bonnie V Yes....very much so. I have seen CR install them in some places...but seldom do they last long? And seldom do they get replaced, but hopefully in the future, they might bet better.

    hi there , Im from Chile , regards from Santiago . What kind of motorcycle are you driving ? any other bikers around the zone? if you move there , do you recommend to buy a motorcycle ? . Enjoy the ride .

    • @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica
      @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica  3 года назад +2

      YES...I do recommend buying a bike in Costa Rica. You can find some really nice bikes...but because there are so many dirt roads, in my opinion, just by a good Yamaha or Honda on/off-road bike. You can get a small 125 like mine for about $2,500 or spend a little more for something a bit bigger. I wanted a bigger bike, but when we arrived, we could ONLY find this small bike and we didn't have much of a choice since we didn't have transportation.
      But...having a bike in CR...sure makes getting around FAST and EASY.
