I feel I should clarify that this video is *not* about 'if Slaanesh was never born', but working on the assumption that all the events that led up to her birth (such as the age of strife) took place, except when Slaanesh awoke it didn't create the Eye of Terror (but did _somehow_ manage to calm the warp), nor did it automatically result in the majority of Aeldari souls being consumed, thus allowing the Aeldari Empire to remain a galactic power.

During the collapse of the Aeldari, they lost most of their more advanced technology. (Correct me if i'm wrong). If the empire didn't fall then not only would they have a larger pool of manpower but also more advanced weapons and fleets.
That probably would been very bad for the great crusade.

If Slaanesh was never birthed and the Eye of Terror never formed, then not much would change from that time. Human worlds would never have been cut off from one another, so they wouldn't devolve into barbaric states like they did. The Emperor wouldn't reveal himself and there wouldn't be a crusade. There would be no Space Marines, no Primarchs, no Horus Heresy, and no Tyranids or Tao. The Aeldari and Humans might skirmish, but no more than they did before the Age of Strife. Okay Warsmith time: Philosoraptor, I applaud this speculation, however you need to consider a few of the things we have recently learned in regards to the Aeldari Empire. Particularly when it comes to one particular passage from Ghost Warrior when the Drachon informs the rest of the Ynnari that the different houses in Commorragh evolved from the High born families of the ancient Empire.
This in turn means that we can determine that even if the old Aeldari Empire managed to not fall to She Who Thirsts, they would have likely been far more fractured in terms of their culture and society. Consider how each Craftworld views the others with open suspicion and at times contempt, this is a cultural aspect of the Aeldari as their arrogance extends not only to the races they deem lesser but to others of their own species.
Furthermore as you saw in Wild Rider, the Aeldari were capable of working along side the Necrons, particularly when it came to serious threats. We can determine thus that an upstart species such as humanity and their genetically modified killing machines would be constituted as a threat worthy of a joint venture.
Regarding the armies of the Aeldari Empire, we should consider the fact that all we have seen are remnants of their kinds true might. If you recall in Thousand Sons, two massive Aledari Titans were left to decay upon a world. While they do still have access to them, we can already confirm that they would have likely had a fleet and weapons dating back to the War in Heaven. Furthermore, they would still be able to call upon the aid of their Pantheon and not the shattered form of Kaela Mensha Khaine.
In conclusion, if the Aeldari Empire still existed....well much like we have now, there would be only war.

I would see the bulk of Aeldari society, whether it remained as one contiguous empire or shattered into dozens or hundreds of empires would be some kind of hybrid between modern dark aeldar and their empire of old. Of course that would require a massive change to Slaanesh where instead of wanting to gobble up all the aeldari souls, schlee(I use one of the pronouns Yeevo uses on schlim schelf as I lack the proper ones) would instead would feast upon the hedonism and excess of the aeldari. Big E may have to reveal himself sooner to unite mankind against a major xenos threat. He may have to up his timetable on his Primarch project a couple thousand years sooner and may even require to keep the thunder warriors on longer to use as front line shock troops. Of course because of no massive warp storms, the technology of the first empire of man would still be available and alongside thunder warriors and space marines you would hordes of men of iron to take the fight to them.

Three explanations for why a Mechanoclysm is never mentioned in Aeldari history:
1 - it is overshadowed by the War in Heaven and the Birth of Slaanesh, which, while *millions* of years apart, are the two most well known events in Aeldari history.
2 - most of their robots were laborer-equivalents of the Castellax-Achea Class battle-automata used by the Thousand Sons before the Rubric, a logical progression of technology for a completely psychic race.
3 - not all of the Men of Iron revolted and in fact, many remained loyal to humanity but were killed by their brethren. This points to the theory that the Men of Iron who *did* rebel did it because they were mistreated. Considering the Aeldari are known for their skill at divination, they may have stopped before going too far, or simply treated their AI well.

Without the eldari fall, the dark age of technology of the human race could still be in full steam because the disruption of interstellar voyages would never have occurred. The Empire could have not happened, albeit I don't know if the war between the AIs and men happened before the end of the "dark age of technology" or it was at the root of the fall of humanity from its golden age. The fall of the eldari was prime cause of the age os strife that lasted thausand of years before the great crusade.

  • @DocWolph
    @DocWolph 4 года назад +1

The Great Crusade would not have happened as there would have been no age of Strife, no warp storms that herald Slaanesh's birth, to break up and isolate parts of "The Human Empire". The Emperor would likely never rise to power because he was never given impetus to do so and if he did he would have been some great general or some such. This also likely means there would be no Astartes and no Primarchs, not even Thunder Warriors. Even if the other three Chaos Gods are still a thing, without Slaanesh to crack the whip and get them really fighting each other in "The Great Game", they would be largely uninterested in the material realm and a non-threat because they opted to stay "over there".
Warp travel might be the only real contact Chaos might have with the material plane, but Golden age of Technology humanity would figure ways to reduce or eliminate any interaction with Chaos in the warp. No galaxy headed inexorably to Hell. Plus and intact Eldar civilization if not empire would work diligently to keep Chaos "over there" simply as a matter of general survival and maintaining an agreeable quality of life in the galaxy.
All this said the most likely scenario that would lead to The Great Crusade, and something not unlike the Imperium of Man, would be and ongoing war with the Eldar or the Orks. but this at most would lead to more super soldiers like less intelligent Men of Iron, Thunder Warriors or at most Astartes. Without Chaos making itself a big problem it is unlikely and VERY unwise to try to use, Astartes and Primarchs simply would not happen. Also is Chaos is not a big concern, despite the Mechaniclysm, The Men of Iron would be dumbed way down and continued to use as primary or supplementary soldiers. AI would not be as feared as it is in the Imperium.
It is even written as canonical fact that everything in the galaxy by M41 is almost absolutely the Eldar's fault. if they had never given birth to Slaanesh, if their civilization never fell, easily 98.8% of everything that happens in Warhammer 40,000 would not have happened.

Its possible the Eldar empire could be a strange mix of craftworld and Drukari as multiple wars between the faction who see the birth of slaneesh as a wake up call and the sweat goblins slowly shift into one hybrid culture. They wear soul stones but still engage in some dark stuff. Torture slaves are illegal but still available on black markets. Now i say this COULD happen as the Eldar might see threats like the Tyranids and chaos and do what they can to keep the empire together, also make alliances with the Imperium or Necrons

For Aeldari vs. Humans: wouldn't that be one-sided due to the webway? Kinda like old_ones_lite vs. necrons_lite. Would the Aeldari empire continue using psycher abilities?
For Slaanesh vs. other gods: Would the Aeldari surviving have yielded an initially weaker Slaanesh (due to not consuming trillions of souls), but a stronger Slaanesh over time (due to a 10k+ world-sized Commorragh, particularly if they're still psychers)? Might this result in more gods being captured by other ruinous powers (or escaping)? Or more of them eventually being consumed?
Would more Aeldari deities being captured by other ruinous powers be enough to balance them vs. Slaanesh's greater potential? Alternately, what advantage might consuming Isha, Khaine, and Ceggy grant her against Nurgle, Khorne, and Tzeentch?

Fall of Aeldari was the final nail that caused the collapse of pre-imperial humanity by causing warp-storms that isolated the human colonies from one another. So Aeldari wouldn't face Imperium of Man, but humanity of Age of Technology after it had dealt with AI threats. It was the event that caused emperor to openly lead humanity instead of directing it from shadows, it was event which premonitions lead him to create super soldiers. The other way for Aeldari empire to survive would be situation where those warpstorms are already happening but they never end in explosion that creates Slaanesh, and that means collapse on mankind without rise of Imperium.

In my mind the only way for the Eldar empire to endure in any capacity or for the Eye of Terror not to exist is for Slaanesh not to have been born/ still not fully awakened.
This could be incredibly interesting. This could mean that Eldar souls are not in danger as they are currently. My boy Fulgrim might not have turned into the worst character in the setting and his Legion staying my beleoved Perfect Purple Pals forever. Probably fight for the loyalists.

If the Aeldari never fell, then there's two scenarios that could happen:
    1. Let's say the warp storms caused by the gestation of She-Who-Thirsts never happened. That would mean the piece de resistance that broke the Federation wouldn't have happened. The psykers and Iron Men rebellion certainly hurt, and they'd be much weakened, but unlike canon where the Warpstorms were the terminal blow that killed the Federation, here there's a chance the Federation could recover and regain much of their lost technology and territory, thus leading to Revelation never revealing himself to Mankind as a whole, remaining on the sidelines putting out the fires.
    2. Okay, let's say there's still a massive amount of warpstorms. Without Slaanesh being born, those warpstorms are never blown out, and humanity is lost.

as I have this ongoing hypothesis of the Chaos Gods being the Old Ones, there was never any chance of this hypothetical.
As I would say Tzeech to be the Old One/Chaos God who originated the species, making Drukhari inevitable creation of this double-God of devious ambitions and deceiving.
Sure, Slaneesh getting warp form was also a possible , if cold reason to create a whole species in the image of one Old One, wishing the forming of another..
Which was first, the Chicken or the Egg, well the Egg was first as Chicken isn't the first thing to come out of an egg.. Warp/Chaos or Order/Cosmos is similar question.
Where the physical forms of the Old Ones or their undeniable presence in warp/web first? Their nemesis seem to have had to find their way into Cosmos through a species, the Necrontins. Wouldn't the case be the same w the Old Ones? Or if they were mere physical beings, what chance to fight Gods would they have had?
Until now, when the original Shamans/Old Ones have warp Forms as Chaos Gods, and species to match and a Humanity to use?

    • @Robustacap
      @Robustacap 3 года назад

In the Eyes of Chaos Old God Ones, one species loosing galactic power would not matter, as most species would be of them and/or "corruptible"/"used" by them, Humanity being a perfect formed species aligned with all of the Chaos Gods, used as feed or as weaponry. There is nothing but war, and there never was anything else.
Just specific Old One created species, and Humanity that really gave the warp Forms all they can, be it resistance or war as needed or even corruption, all serve the Chaos of the Old Ones.
Who is to say Cha'than and the Old Ones aren't the same? The Old Ones just getting a foothold in material Cosmos before/through multiple species, while their outcast cousins had to rebel them through Necrontins (the Tau reformed species with Cha'than shards and biotransmuting mind to machine etc..?)
There is nothing but war. And all Are mere pawns in the Game long ago/now/forever fought...

This means that Humanity would likely be united in a big Galactic Confederation instead of the Imperium.

This is a great video and i have some theories that i hope are plausible.
I'm not sure if I'm understanding the interpretation of the title and what I've heard entirely. It seems as though the title theorizes 2 things. Slannesh was never born and the Aeldari empire endured or that Slannesh was born and the Aeldari empire endured. I assume the latter is impossible but definitely worth imagining. So my theory is centered upon the former.
If the empire of the Aeldari always endured... I'm assuming Slannesh was never born. If Slannesh was never born, then the Aeldari would more than like persist and exist as a greater version of Drukhari that have no issue with continuing to use psychic abilities. All the Aeldari gods would still exist at full power also. I say this about all Aeldari being just greater forms of psychic wielding Drukhari because the Drukhari have not ceased in their actions and cultural evolution as it once existed and are a great example of what the Aeldari race would be, if not due to the birth of Slannesh.
I do not believe commorragh would ever become independent. Most ports never become independent unless contested between warring kingdoms. If the Aeldari empire remained whole commorragh would remain under its thumb. The only other way a port can remain independent is if it loses ease of access. Example hong kong and Shanghai is either under British rule or Chinese rule. It cannot establish independence with a larger more established kingdom that has ease of access and control over it. Take New York, New York. A great city and port but there is no way it could obtain or maintain its independence from the United States so long as the United States still exists. If the United States were to fall... Some other Kingdom or country would seek control of the port of New York so long as it has ease of access to New York. Commorragh is at an extreme advantage. The one place and thing, the Aeldari empire that had control and ease of access to commorragh was wiped out. Allowing for commorragh to established it's unquestioned independence. Commorragh can not be easily accessed by many at all.
As far as the The Emperor of Mankind and the Emperor of Man being able to fight a war with and enduring Aeldari empire to a bloody stalemate. Unfortunately i think not. Sorry Imperium fans. Based on the series of events presented on page 29 of the current chaos daemon codex. Mankind's dominant great crusade more than likely would never have happened or even gotten off the ground.
According to the codex chaos daemons page 29
    "The Awakening"
    "Rise of the Emperor"
    "Birth of Slannesh"
    "The Storms Abate"
In that order... The success of the great crusade and the empire of Man stemmed upon the creation of Slannesh. If Slannesh was never birthed and the Aeldari empire endured then the Primarchs would still be flung out across the galaxy, the warp rifts from the age of strife would still exist in mass preventing the great crusade to truly launch with any true magnitude. After Slannesh was birthed his birth subccumbed the many warp rifts keeping mankind terra and mars included from even traveling to one another.
Lastly with webway technology not destroyed because of the birth of Slannesh. The Aeldari would run rings around mankind. This is one of the reasons the Aeldari maintained dominance of the galaxy even during man's great age of technology.
Remember the Aeldari had webway access to the moon shown in the gathering storm and at full strength could take out terra with planet killing technology with a snap.

If slannesh had never been born then the dark age of technology would have continued and the race united. The only reason the emperor came to public gaze was to unite mankind but without the birth of slannesh and the subsequent 100000 year warp storm mankind would have remained a united strong force. There would be no need for a great crusade, no need for primarchs or astarte.

The Age of Strife ended with the birth of Slaanesh, as their birth ended all the warp storms. (as stated in pretty much every craftworld codex)
As stated in the pinned comment, for the purpose of this hypothetical, all the events leading to the birth of Slaanesh still occurred, which included the Age of Strife. It's just that in this case, the birth of Slaanesh - while ending the warp storms - failed to rip a hole in the fabric of reality.
