This is one of those songs when you hear the chorus for the first time you stop whatever it is you're doing to find out who the hell is belting that out...LOVE THIS.
He's got one of the most distinct voices, I first heard The Violent on the radio and was like what's the singer from Red Sun Rising doing in a different band? Been in love ever since. (I really enjoyed Red Sun Rising too)
Such a unique sounding voice.. Reminds me so much of Thomas Flowers from Oleander which is a GREAT thing!!! He’s always been one of my favorites.. Excellent work fellas
Yes! Very nice album coming together! Great song! Easy to sing along. Easy to move with! Great hook! Everyone playing air instruments! Very nice job! Can't wait to hear The Violent live again with this add!
It's funny; I never really liked any new releases in terms of music and would also go back to older classics. But the last few songs, Counting Sheep and now this? Now this is music with meaning, with power in it. Such incredible talent coming from this band.
Absolutely in love with this song!! Non stop stuck in my head now for the last 2 weeks!! I can’t get enough of it!! I’ve not only lived this song myself I notice soo many who are currently living it!! Don’t know what is soo hard for others to accept their own wrong doings or how they can stand being piggies by others!! Hope this song wakes up all those who are delusional to their mistakes and helps them to move forward instead of sitting there spinning wheels going nowhere trapping themselves in the past!! Acceptance is key!!
Every song released is a beautiful surprise. You really are the next best thing. I've been following you since the beginning. Octane plays all your stuff.
Just discovered this band and song because of Sirius XM (Channel 37 Octane). Let me just say, this song is perfection. I am now a huge fan; you guys are awesome!
I really do not understand how this only has 13k views. Octane is giving it some love. I just found you guys , heard you came to Daytona not too long ago. I will definitely be at your next show in central FL. New fan for sure
@@theviolentrock I’ve never subscribed faster! Shared all your stuff with my friends - All 2 of them 😂. You’ve got 3 new fans for sure. Thanks for putting out some awesome new music, I can stop listening to my 90’s rock on repeat now. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
This song hits you to your core. A lot of people will be like I know who this song reminds me of. Very few will think it's about how they are Well done guys you did it again another thought proving song 💯❤️
I heard this on Octane on Sirius a few days ago. I turned it but caught a little of the that chorus... damn near crashed putting it back on fast as a could. Been listening to this the last four days a few times a day.
Got to see Red Sun just before the hiatus, and was so bummed to learn they weren't coming back. Eventually, heard of the new project and got excited for more music from you guys. Not sure what distracted me from following up, but this morning I heard Other Side on the radio and in an instant was on here looking for The Violent. When the chorus dropped, HOLY SH**, it was like having a long lost friend back. Think I'm gonna give it an 18th play just to make sure I REALLY love this song.
Heard this song on SXM Octane and I thought it sounded amazing but familiar. I spent days trying to figure it out, asked my family to listen, looked up the members to see if they used to be in other bands. One day at work I was singing this to myself and it clicked "RED SUN RISING" I should have know sooner
@@theviolentrock the thanks goes out to you. I listen because you put forth. They're more than songs when you sing them. I feel meanings, a story, maybe hope. Depends on the song. This one is an automatic favorite the first 20 seconds I listened.
Are you fucking kidding me. I guess people don’t understand music. Put this I sing and listening to everything they do is amazing. When they were red sun rising the Alanis cover is absolutely amazing! The talent and heart and feeling for sound within this band is amazing .
@@theviolentrock its weird as fuck.... its a fantastic song none the less but i cant figure out where ive heard it before, wether its a similar song or the song in general... first time i heard it on octane i knew every word and i dont know how or why lol
I’ve been your fan for years now way before The Violent and your music and voice never fail to touch my heart and soul. Thank you for another masterpiece❤🎉 Will you be touring anytime soon by the way?
At 0:23 and 1:30 when the beat kicks in, building suspense and it's very reminiscent of chomping teeth, coming to get you (or whatever this person was running from) I just watched a little bit of Steven Kings Langoliers so that's where I got that terrorizing chomping sound visual from lol
Huge fan. Love all you, met all you, seen you 3 plus times. Favorite rock sounds coming out of your beings! Set list signed on wall . I get this is not Red Sun, but it needs a better producer, and needs a definite direction, the few songs here there, test waters . How’s that going…. Red sun riff heavy? Yes but loved. Bass heavy now. Voice hooks, this sun isn’t gonna be good. Rock music sucks now cus it’s all same shine down/3 days grace afterthoughts, except. Here’s ghost, rival sons, Shaka ponk, Volbeat, Stereophonics, slash and Myles Kennedy
Part of EVERY new band is finding a direction. Most bands don’t find their sound until a 2 or even third album. We haven’t even released a full album yet. Red Sun Rising was a band for almost 10 years before we got signed and you heard the music you heard. So this is kinda of a premature comment here…
I just can't get into The Violent songs. I try and I try with each new one (I just listened to "Me" today to similar effect, which is what brought me here to see if anyone else was expressing similar sentiments)... but I never find myself really wanting to listen to the song again. It is the style and, to me, it is simply too far different from RSR for the worst. I miss RSR. When I first heard RSR (Amnesia on the radio), I scrambled to find out who it was and I couldn't buy Polyester Zeal fast enough and loved it. I personally rank Polyester Zeal the best rock album of the past 10 years. I have written comments on this aspect so many times and most of the time I delete them rather than post. On one hand I want to vent because it is how I feel, but on the other I feel bad that it is how I feel. The sentiment comes from feeling the RSR style did these guys far better justice to their certainly outstanding musical abilities... and despite the fact that some people like this or any style, I personally feel this mechanical industrial-tinged style holds them back. I do definitely go back and listen to Polyester Zeal, whereas I am not even buying these new songs anymore (and I usually buy everything). RSR has 50K subscribers... The Violent has 5K. I think I am not alone in my views on this, and my girlfriend was also a big fan and feels the same deflation. A lot of the fans that are not into something an artists that they used to love current does just will never try to explain it. I will at times. I really do not care if the band is named RSR or The Violent... I just would love more of the RSR style now or eventually. That was the style I loved and felt represented their skills the best. What happened to the Thread concept?... Polyester Zeal embodied it... then it seemed abandoned as even the album Thread really did not deliver on the concept. The Violent is all within one style, imo. Creating more amid all the styles these guys have operated in would keep more fans happy, imo.
Couple things. RSR was a band for 10 years before we got signed by a label and put out a national record. That’s 10 years of subscriptions, 10 years of performances, 10 years of brand awareness. Then get signed and literally THOUSANDS of dollars get poured into it and then countless shows to follow in 22 countries. The violent has released 9 songs and have played 6 shows. And owns our own label so essentially independent. This is not even worth a conversation because it is so drastically different. Sorry you feel the way you do but RSR is something we love and built and now we are building something else. The same people won’t like The Violent and there are many people that like The Violent and think RSR was lame. If you don’t like it we aren’t offended. Just don’t listen to it. It’s ok…
🔥🔥🤘🤘🔥🔥 Oustanding song!

Hey, I love this song so much! Is there a way you guys can please try an acoustic version? This song would be sweet with a few acoustic guitars!
It was written on acoustic so yes I’m sure we could this

All I could think was "I pity the fool" with a Mr T voice.

I will always love your voice Mike, but this one like the others is way over processed. I would like to hear something a little more raw. IMHO
Interesting… cause the verses are effected but the chorus is literally just a slap back delay and a little reverb that’s it
