I’ve had one of the original Kona electrics since 2018. Fact I’ve kept it for 95k miles so far (twice as far as any other car I’ve owned) tells you all you need to know. Amazing efficiency helps make for very low running costs. Certainly tempted by the new version which looks like a big step forward.
Is that the new facelift 2024 Kona? Strange as even the N sport S with 19inch wheels can show almost 300 on eco mode.. What driving mode are you using?
Great looking car but I don't like the placement of the lights. Putting them right out at the corners like that will mean a lot of heart ache for some. I bet they are not cheap to replace.
I have the 2020 Kona Premium EV. I am really interested in the new 2024 Kona, but i am seeing that on the different reviews the range quoted on the top spec is 260.
Your data is straight off the brochure info. In winter my brand new 2024 64Kw Kona achieves 230 miles. A far cry from the WLTP range you quote in your video. Also with the new Hyundai interface there are a number of annoying things (apart from the continuous beeps for not looking at the road, speeding, lane correction etc) But the big kicker is that you have to change your drive mode and regen each time you get in the car. Also, the lane correct auto steering has to be set each time you get in the car. Deeply frustrating for EV owners that are used to previous model Hyundai's like me that have been used not having to re-setup everything on each drive! It's fast though, and the one pedal driving is cool. Just wish it would remember I have selected it after coming out of cruise control. Also, as it's a wishy washy SUV, it's very boat like when travelling above 70 mph. To cure this and have a smooth ride, you have to select sport mode!. This is not a "set it and forget it" car. I know some of the things I have mentioned above are as a result of new EU laws, but definitely not all. Also, its the motor not the battery that makes the car faster...
I nearly bought one, until the dealer offered me £6k less than I was expecting for my Tucson PHEV. Apparently used electric /hybrid cars are now worth next to nothing.
already looked at the ICE version, I love it, but going to have to wrestle my brain over the huge price gap between the KONA, and the Dolphin and the MG4 here in Australia. Neither of these vehicles you mention, but as a Hyundai dealer you wouldn't would you young Lady.
I like the looks of this redesigned Kona, inside and out. But be warned, the cargo area is ridiculously small in person. If you want more of an SUV look and respectable cargo space, definitely get the KIA Seltos instead. Honestly I would just skip over this and get the KIA Seltos regardless.
hey! youtube recommended me your channel, i noticed that your editing is very static....this type of editing drastically decreases audience engagement and to my surprise you guys don't have a single short form video on your channel so i thought why not edit a long form and a short form video for you guys...that too absolutely for free where may i send you that?
1 reason NOT to buy:; Tesla exists. Brand new Model 3 Highland is the same price as this. Better range, Better efficiency, much much more gear/equipment, much more luxurious feel.
@@johnbanksreviews I agree with you John. I just wish they would be a little more competitive :) If price was to follow features, performance and quality, this would be $10k less. (related to Tesla pricing)
You are one of those people who would say "no need to buy an android phone, because there is an apple iphone". Tesla is just an overpriced cr@p, just like iphone is. You are driving an ipad when you are driving Tesla. In terms of UX concepts, Tesla is everything the car should not be.
@@Babanski the thing is that the Tesla is priced BELOW this car if you take spec/equipment into consideration. I have no preference for Tesla, but will chose the Best Value option… currently Tesla is far better value. Don’t let your hate blind you. Best wishes.
@@theaimuse I own Tesla and my dad owns Kona EV. Tesla IS NOT priced below. I am not sure what you are smoking. KONA EV in Canada costs 20,000 less than any Tesla that offers the same range, even the cheapest model. So please don't claim what you don't know.
40K for a car that doesn't even have a moonroof?! It's not a Kona, it's a Coma! Nah. I'd rather stick to my beloved Chevy Bolt and wait for GM to release the Equinox EV. A lot more of a car for the same kind of money.
Another great review Tish you always give detailed comprehensive information.

I enjoyed watching the Video Review. I like colour, style and amount of space on offer 😊
It's a cool electric car !
What precautions should be taken while taking delivery of a new Hyundai kona 2024 electric car in the UK
I’ve got the extended battery and the 17 inch wheels and I’ve never had more then 300 miles of a full charge

Super presentation. Wow that entry model has impressive standard kit, more than enough for most people
Have to agree.. very impressive spec for entry level.

The Kona looks like the sweetspot for many EV buyers. Way ahead of the Stellantis cars.

As a owner of one, currently I am get 278, and that's a lot of motorway driving
WLTP is 282 miles on the higher trims with 19 inch wheels.
@@jonathonblacker299 Which trim level do you have and is it the 2024 facelift Kona you have?
Love your objective reviews
nice ev n vid.
Come on Tish, Cambridge without a “d”! Good review though
