That was the most fucking crisp punch/counter I’ve ever seen in an anime when garou punched him back after he hit name one anime that can compete with that counter.
It is said that the damage Tank-Top took is doubled compare to his original. The strength of flowing fist is relative to the physical force thrown at the user. But that doesn't mean the flowing water fist user relies on his/her enemy's raw strength; one's physical stature is also a factor but Bang developed this style as a principle of his way of enlightenment. To discipline, elevate oneself and achieve the greatest height a mind can ever accomplish. This style is a product of Bang's failure as a martial artist in his early days and realization after being defeated by Bomb. He rekindled his devotion to martial arts, strengthen his will, and redeemed himself. Garou contradictly used this style as opposed to its supposedly purpose. Thus, weakening and limiting himself to achieve the flowing water's full potential as a human. I believe, although just an anecdotal evidence, the water flowing fist is tied to the user's state of mind. You can learn it by pure talent alone but, to reference a game, you will never achieve its full potential and will remain at a standard, steady level. Monster Garou or awakened Garou, as anyone who prefer to call him that, however is an exception. He fully mastered Bang and Bomb's style. Clearly the monsterification affected his growth without the regards of the principles required to fully use the potential of water flowing fist. As an Avatar of God, he even goes beyond that. Acquiring all the knowledge of the martial arts, not to mention his other acquired feats, he became the very embodiment of- or I'd say, peak of the martial arts as a human. That of course a power bestowed on him by a god. He can just entirely disregard the said principles. But without divine intervention, Bang is still stronger than Garou in any aspects. Garou can compensate that by his incredible reflexes and adaptability skill. He still got a lot to learn from Bang. Murata or One, has this habit of revealing something but not its entirety. By that I mean, we didn't get a fight that the combatants are healthy, uninjured, balanced and/or-in simple term- in perfect shape. This assumption is only applicable to the characters that is considered by the many one of the 'main characters'. Let me give you an example: Bang (not perfectly in shape due to his back problem but in full health), Bomb(also has body ache issue, but in also in full health) VS Garou (Extremely fatigue, tired, suffered in blood lose causing blurry visions, etc.) Note: This is old Bang and Bomb, not in their prime state but I am looking at this not just in their capabilities as a martial artist but as a master-student who surpasses who. Also as to aligned this comparison in their respective time. Young Bang didn't exist in the same time as the martial artist Garou. We hardly have any information about the young Bang to make a comparison.) . Genos (with an updated upgrade, can assemble and disassemble some of his body parts and navigate them independently. Geno's update at the time was relatively new, as someone who relies on a book to get information of heroes' skill descriptions- I'd say the skillbook is outdated for Garou to use against Genos.) VS Garou (same physical status, if not worse than when he fought Bang and Bomb) . Monster Garou VS Bomb . Monster Garou VS Bang . Sonic VS Genos (their fight was interrupted but nearly at their full power) . Flash (without his weapon. In One Punch Man universe, a weapon to Ninjas are as important as their abilities. Flash in this fight is handicapped.) VS Monster Garou VS Platinum Sperm . Garou (human form, healthy) VS Metal Bat (injured and a sudden interruption of his sister. Although his strength is based on his 'damage take', he still suffers from blood loss.) . I forgot the other fights (will edit if I suddenly remember it) There's also this fight we didn't get and a missed chance or a good opportunity for additional details in comparing a character that has yet to happen. For example: •Monster Garou VS Tatsumaki and other class S heroes aside from Flash in the Manga This is just my own observations doesn't make it true. I'm just intrigued by this show. It's a tendency I have when I like something, I will really write and analyze it in- as detailed as a I possibly can. Btw, this fight is 💯. Albeit short, but enough to assume and conclude that heroes like Tank-Top in any way is no match to Martial arts style as Garou repeatedly confirmed.
God this anime and it's writing were so good overall. That Tank Top correctly guessed that Garou would lie and was already throwing a cool punch is a credit to his character. And then we get that sweet counter.
@Red Saber Genos vs Garou was ass except for like 13 seconds or so. The opening visuals were also dogshit, last few minutes of the last episode were more dogshit, including the "serious punch" at the end that was literally traced from the first season's opening LMFAOO. That was the most fucking crisp punch/counter I’ve ever seen in an anime when garou punched him back after he hit name one anime that can compete with that counter.
you can't get over garou's counter-punch until you'll get satified
Let me give you an example:
Bang (not perfectly in shape due to his back problem but in full health), Bomb(also has body ache issue, but in also in full health) VS Garou (Extremely fatigue, tired, suffered in blood lose causing blurry visions, etc.)
Note: This is old Bang and Bomb, not in their prime state but I am looking at this not just in their capabilities as a martial artist but as a master-student who surpasses who. Also as to aligned this comparison in their respective time. Young Bang didn't exist in the same time as the martial artist Garou. We hardly have any information about the young Bang to make a comparison.)
.
Genos (with an updated upgrade, can assemble and disassemble some of his body parts and navigate them independently. Geno's update at the time was relatively new, as someone who relies on a book to get information of heroes' skill descriptions- I'd say the skillbook is outdated for Garou to use against Genos.) VS Garou (same physical status, if not worse than when he fought Bang and Bomb)
.
Monster Garou VS Bomb
.
Monster Garou VS Bang
.
Sonic VS Genos (their fight was interrupted but nearly at their full power)
.
Flash (without his weapon. In One Punch Man universe, a weapon to Ninjas are as important as their abilities. Flash in this fight is handicapped.) VS Monster Garou VS Platinum Sperm
.
Garou (human form, healthy) VS Metal Bat (injured and a sudden interruption of his sister. Although his strength is based on his 'damage take', he still suffers from blood loss.)
.
I forgot the other fights (will edit if I suddenly remember it)
There's also this fight we didn't get and a missed chance or a good opportunity for additional details in comparing a character that has yet to happen. For example:
•Monster Garou VS Tatsumaki and other class S heroes aside from Flash in the Manga
This is just my own observations doesn't make it true.
Can’t believe this was 5 years ago
God this anime and it's writing were so good overall. That Tank Top correctly guessed that Garou would lie and was already throwing a cool punch is a credit to his character. And then we get that sweet counter.
0:35 Garou:A S class?! *Laughs* (One of my favorite garou laugh LOL)
1:42 dang jc staff, dang
Aoki carried the season, not JC Staff.
@Red Saber you can't just drag the whole studio into the topic as they did shit, Aoki did mostly everything that was enjoyable.
@Red Saber Genos vs Garou was ass except for like 13 seconds or so. The opening visuals were also dogshit, last few minutes of the last episode were more dogshit, including the "serious punch" at the end that was literally traced from the first season's opening LMFAOO. No one put effort into fucking anything as much as Aoki did, whole studio didn't give a fuck and it shows, All the character's faces are off 90% of the time and they don't even look like they do in the manga AT ALL.
Garou - When he used "Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist" 💀
Really amazing animation and sound effects, could almost feel 0:40 just sitting on my chair.
fr, amazingly done
Damn, Charanko. Wish he could do something more for his master and dojo.
Garou kind of looks like a younger version of older hehachi mishima from tekken
lol kinda yeah
That counterattack looks smooth as fuck, fist of flowing water crushing rock.
garou really took bruce lee’s words seriously when he said flow like water
0:34 // S CLASS ? YOHOOO !!
0:40 Everything was perfect in that tanktop tackle, animation, sound everything!
Man, when they really want to, the animation in this is just unbeatable. That's how it was with all of season 1 and why it was so awesome.
Garou only took out Mumen Rider cus he was only using 1% of his Justice Crash Power.
Garou fears him more than the Hero’s/Monsters Association 😉😂
your editing is 1000/100 , every major moment respected
Garou: As if.
Tank Top Master: Why do i hear boss music?
1:42 gotta be one of the craziest counters in anime
1:42 is that feeling when you finally land a counter in a game
Fun fact when he turns around and says “as if” in the original he says “F that”
He says, Uso, which means lie in Japanese
If you listen closely his theme is played like 5 times over and over and chopped
1:40 when people insult you but you’re good with comebacks
