[Instrumental Intro] [Verse 1] With names that would be timeless, They were built sleek and fast, Streamlined for the future And fueled by the past. They were tall as iron giants Cloaked in their steel shrouds Like chariots from the future Arriving on misty clouds. [Chorus] New York Central. Rail and machine, Fire, smoke, and steam. New York Central, Ghosts of the Rails! [Verse 2] From New York to Chicago, Travelin’ along the rails, You could smell the history in the air With each breath that you’d inhale. Like a noble knight of olden days, With his armor and his shield And four hundred-thousand pounds Of iron, chrome, and steel. [Chorus] New York Central. Rail and machine, Fire, smoke, and steam. New York Central, Ghosts of the Rails! [Verse 3] With miles of cars behind them, Faster than ever before, The _20th Century Limited,_ Majestic Commodore. I remember the mighty Mercury Like it was yesterday: The train of tomorrow, Dressed in gleaming gray. [Chorus (2x)] New York Central. Rail and machine, Fire, smoke, and steam. New York Central, Ghosts of the Rails!
When 3001 gets restored THEY BETTER DO A MUSIC VIDEO!
Those New York Central steam engines were some of my favorite streamliners when I saw I Love Toy Trains Part 11 on VHS back in the day.
R.I.P tom mccomas.
Who is he?
A producer of I love toy trains but then he passed away.
When a kids show has masterpeices of a soundtrack, you know you nailed it!
This is one of the reasons why Part 11 is my personal favorite ILTT video.
[Instrumental Intro]
[Verse 1]
With names that would be timeless,
They were built sleek and fast,
Streamlined for the future
And fueled by the past.
They were tall as iron giants
Cloaked in their steel shrouds
Like chariots from the future
Arriving on misty clouds.
[Chorus]
New York Central.
Rail and machine,
Fire, smoke, and steam.
New York Central,
Ghosts of the Rails!
[Verse 2]
From New York to Chicago,
Travelin’ along the rails,
You could smell the history in the air
With each breath that you’d inhale.
Like a noble knight of olden days,
With his armor and his shield
And four hundred-thousand pounds
Of iron, chrome, and steel.
[Chorus]
New York Central.
Rail and machine,
Fire, smoke, and steam.
New York Central,
Ghosts of the Rails!
[Verse 3]
With miles of cars behind them,
Faster than ever before,
The _20th Century Limited,_
Majestic Commodore.
I remember the mighty Mercury
Like it was yesterday:
The train of tomorrow,
Dressed in gleaming gray.
[Chorus (2x)]
New York Central.
Rail and machine,
Fire, smoke, and steam.
New York Central,
Ghosts of the Rails!
