We have a passionfruit in a pot and it's a prolific climber in summer. It's currently (southern hemisphere) covering both sides of a sepation wall. Needs a bit of taming every now and then for it not to get out of hand. (I just let the parrot loose in it a couple of times a week for an hour or two 😬) But the flowers are gorgeous and the fruit amazing.

Good tip, the peels contain much more vitamin C... You get used to eating them fresh with the orange and incorporating them in dishes finely diced like cereals, salads, smoothies or asian dishes. This is a very pleasing channel to enjoy. 🤗
Hi, I live in New Zealand on 5 acres of land which I keep horses. (and garden) Great using the manure. I pile it up and turn it once over a couple of months then cover with a tarp and let rot. It turns into lovely grumbly compost. Any hay I don't want i leave outside to decay and this is what I mulch my veges with. Straw is expensive here and hay works for me. I think your idea of spreading plants around is very good and as I plant everything with everything else I find I don't actually have any pests. Oh, except the naughty possums who go after my fruit, so I have to cover them until I harvest the fruit (apples/plums, peach. Just wondering where the passionfruit will climb. I have grown it in the past and it grew all over the chicken coop wire fence which was 2 mts tall and 3 mtrs wide. They are very vigorous here. Interesting about the NZ spinach and normal spinach. I never realized that as I mainly grow silverbeet. Love your videos.
I am very happy that I have the chance to see more of your work in the countryside. You also inspired me to start learning Spanish. I wish you a very good day.
Years ago we had a wonderful large garden. We chose to take advantage of free horse manure offered by a large horse farm not far away. Covered for garden in early spring with as much manure we could transport. What we learned is that plant seeds go right through horses. So we actually planted our garden with as much weeds and seeds that the horses had access to. Spent ten years trying to get rid of those weeds. Worst was Canadian Thistle. At one point I dug out ~24 inches of the top soil. Backfilled with purchased garden soil.... Canadian Thistle came back anyway. We gave up on that garden. Started over in another corner of the yard. Just want to warn you about horse manure. definatly is a two sided coin. I wish you better luck, your work is appreciated.
Yes I've heard that a lot but these horses eat the same straw that I use on my garden which is pretty reliably seed-free - we buy it from the same place - plus some alfalfa. They are not in open fields grazing on all sorts of weeds. I've used their manure before, uncomposted, with no problem so I'm not too worried. But if I end up with a bed of random weeds I'll know what happened!

Harriet you work so hard in your garden. Found the subtitle button. Great video. Is the New Zealand spinach planted by seed. What do you grow in the winter.
Yes I grew it from seed! In the winter we have lots of leafy greens, brassicas, radish and root veggies. Well I don't have root veggies this year but I wish I did!
As usual I really enjoyed this video but I have difficulty reading the subtitles because the first line stays in place when the second line comes on and covers it, (and so on) so I get writing on top of writing. I’ve played around with the subtitle choices but I either get no subtitles at all or what I’ve just described. I watch on an iPad. Does anyone else have this problem and if you’ve solved it, can you tell me how?
Ugh, it's so annoying, it's an issue that sometimes happens with custom subtitles (I believe only on ipad/iphone but I don't have those devices to check). I can reupload the subtitles and it sometimes fixes the problem. I've done that now, but I can't check whether it's made a difference. Sorry about it, I know it's annoying :(
@@LittleSpanishFarmstead They worked perfectly on Windows just now. I notice that they only appear on one line, so maybe it's a scrolling issue when they wrap to two lines on other devices in portrait mode. So perhaps restricting them to one line, if possible, may fix it.

I love your videos but I unfortunately I cannot understand Spanish…We know that it probably is your first language, but hopefully you’ll continue to speak in English for us to understand. Greetings from the US.
Harriet's first language is English... but she speaks very good Spanish too. I guess that she alternates between Spanish and English, so she can reach bigger audience. Nevertheless, as per her own comment below, you can always turn on the subtitles.
Is Spanish your native language? You sounded so much more comfortable speaking it. Imho, feel free to records in any language you're most comfortable with, I can always just use subtitle
Why is It that us spanish speaking viewers have no problem watching a video in english and activating subtitles, but english speaking viewers feel entitled to ask Harriet and Mauro to stop doing their videos in spanish. Guys, spanish is also a broadly spoke language+ they live in Spain, you can take these videos as an opportunity to learn some spanish. And, the world does not revolve around english nor english speaking viewers.
We watch your show every week, but do not speak Spanish. I wish there was at least subtitles. David and Lillian in Oklahoma. Tell us if we should just unsubscribe
There’s English subtitles if you switch it on in the settings button in the right upper screen, I did it and it worked great. Look into it and enjoy. I hope that helps you.

I've used this manure before with no problems so hopefully the straw they eat, as long as the supplier doesn't change, is safe.
Saludos Desde New York
❤
I wish you could put English subtitles when editing the Spanish speaking videos. 😊
I do! You can select the subtitle language by clicking on the cog icon
Gracias
Oh, thank you. I didn't know that.
Señor vos sos argentino no?

I love your videos but I unfortunately I cannot understand Spanish…We know that it probably is your first language, but hopefully you’ll continue to speak in English for us to understand. Greetings from the US.
Did you know there are English subtitles? I know not everyone likes to read subtitles but just mentioning in case you hadn't seen
Harriet's first language is English... but she speaks very good Spanish too. I guess that she alternates between Spanish and English, so she can reach bigger audience. Nevertheless, as per her own comment below, you can always turn on the subtitles.
💗
Is Spanish your native language? You sounded so much more comfortable speaking it. Imho, feel free to records in any language you're most comfortable with, I can always just use subtitle

Why is It that us spanish speaking viewers have no problem watching a video in english and activating subtitles, but english speaking viewers feel entitled to ask Harriet and Mauro to stop doing their videos in spanish. Guys, spanish is also a broadly spoke language+ they live in Spain, you can take these videos as an opportunity to learn some spanish. And, the world does not revolve around english nor english speaking viewers.
That was kind of rude. I thoroughly enjoyed the video. Not everyone feels this way.
You might want to blur out your license plate next time
It carries no identifying or personal information, there's no need to
What?
We watch your show every week, but do not speak Spanish. I wish there was at least subtitles. David and Lillian in Oklahoma. Tell us if we should just unsubscribe
There are subtitles, click on the cc button on the video to activate the English subtitles 👍
There’s English subtitles if you switch it on in the settings button in the right upper screen, I did it and it worked great. Look into it and enjoy. I hope that helps you.
There are English subtitles
What a waste for Americans that you can repeat In English. Unaubscribed.
Sorry I don't cater solely to Americans who don't like to read.
