This movie is edited like a fucking commercial.
I'm glad someone else noticed this. The editing is so jarringly bad I can't believe it. The close ups of the faces and the acting, there's a lot of talent on that stage and none of them can save the scene. Never seen this movie and wanted to see what it looked like compared to the first, it's a nightmare.
To be honest I liked this movie, but I must agree. If I had never seen this movie and I was shown this scene and told it was a commercial for a new Apple Product I would believe them.

anyone ever try telling these aliens that theres billions of other planets also with molten cores that don't have inhabitants on them?
Perhaps they target the most threatening planet in a solar system first before going after the uninhabitated ones? Take out the defense and the others are easy pickings.
I assume they are a xenophobic race that won't tolerate others.
@@CardSearcher911 well there billions of star systems with no life im sure.... their motives dont make sense if they just want resources... if to exterminate any potential threats tho, then sure... but just to go mining? thats dumb
Yeah, in the first movie they mention that their biology is similar to ours, explaining why they are interested in earth, due to an atmosphere that they would be able to live in probably. Makes no sense if they just want the planet for the molten core.
@@Nick871203they're literally grasshopper, they're not picky, they don't care if the wheat is owned or not

@@SGNedtiz I would not.. isn't the shpere supposed to hold the key to defeating the aliens? What is the idea? You have to shoot first, and one shot them because if you dont you are fucked? It was a one-shot kill... or destruction... for a race that is supposed to have a way to defeat the aliens, that's a pretty stupid thing. No shields? Really? I would not trust that orb...
Same here, after hearing that, they would have apologized to it saying "sorry about that"
@@cartoonliker7820 I think thats actually a good quality of this movie. Humanity's paranoia of another hostile attack caused them to fire on this Alien trying to help them.
The sphere must have some seriously impressive weaponry if they can defeat the defence systems of those harvester motherships. Anyone else also notice the defensive dome grid that can also be assembled over the planet while the platforms massacre the aliens?
They may have Impressive Weaponry but its species was took out by the harvesters
@@retro8696 i think it was a case of too little too late for them to win the war.. but have spend the last 1000 years refining the tech on its own.

ruclips.net/user/shortsmZEPZ-nUfRk?feature=share
And it reminds me of actual Ufos and spheres
There could be a TV show about humans making contact with the alien survivors and, potentially, other worlds to rally them into fight. This could be the new Stargate or Babylon 5, or both. I mean original SG movie was only kinda meh, but still spawned an excellent franchise

That sphere is literally the Gravital race in All Tommorrows novel, exactly the same, removed their biological bodies and transfered it to a spherical machine that can float and manipulate things.

Yeah but this gal isn’t racist, annihilates entire species, deforms and toys with sentient aware beings, or picks fights with bathumans that live in space rocks.
I've fan-named the sphere Spherea. I still wish after 5 years of this movie that there will b a 3rd, to show the refugee planet and all the Harvester's victims. To explore more of Independence Dayverse. They say it won't happen but i wish for it.
I'll root for an expanded independence dayverse alongside ya.
Surely it should
This flop sealed all hopes of a third.
@@chimyshark
U ever tried getting rid of those political correctness issues side to film critics? That stuff is just dead weight that supports the real flops like big bong theroy
I agree. This scene was the best and most interesting part of the movie. Maybe they can at least make a graphic novel or comic book to finish off the story. Sucks this movie ended on such a big cliffhanger. I wouldn't mind seeing what happens next. The intergalactic war with all those different species sounds fascinating
Anyone else suddenly curious on what other species from the alien coalition may look like? Or maybe have some ideas?
Well if I had to guess what other species are on the refugee planet, I think some be mammal, reptiles even insect. But those are basics, some could be like sentient elements like rock, fire, light or even living energy. There’s even a possibility there could be some that appears humanoid or close to human but still different.
Wouldn't mind seeing some nods to stargate.
@@wesker500 Funny you mention that, because ID4 and Stargate are supposed to be in the same universe. This is why the Stargate and the Harvestor ships look alike, they are both made of the same Quartzite material.

There's more...
So other aliens fought the ones that attacks mankind in this movie?
Yeah the aiens have been on a galactic genocidal crusade for thousands of years
Ok obviously this is a movie but, this is the shit I'm talking about. There is absolutely no telling if our own milky way galaxy let alone the rest of the universe has advance civilizations like the beings in this movie out there somewhere. Space is so huge and so old, there's been more then enough time for beings like these or that Sphere thing to develop. If mankind knew for a fact if something like this exists... It would change the very meaning of what being "human" and our beliefs are.. Alone or not, its a scary thought indeed.
@@Pwilly1984 there probably is a massive intergalactic war going on right now (similar to the world wars on earth) and we don’t even know about it.
@@Pwilly1984 #theborg #thedominion
@GregAndr Ever heard of a resource war
This was probably the only thing I liked about the sequel and probably the only reason why I’d want a third movie.
I wish they make a third one just to see how we take out The Harvesters once for all and establish The Great Interstellar Human Empire
"We primitive?"
Correct 😂
There’s something wrong about that scene.
Number one, judging the fact the Harvesters extract molten cores to refuel their ships and grow their technology, how does iron and nickel fuel their machinery? Why not use hydrogen from Gas Giants or stars to fuel their ships much easier than harvesting anything else? And why not mine asteroids or comets to gather resources for their species instead of destroying inhabitable worlds?
Number two, so the Sphere’s species is wiped out from extinction by a hostile race with less primitive technology than her’s, and yet there’s a refugee planet where alien civilizations from fallen worlds could build the same exact weapons she struggled to destroy the Harvester fleet.
You must be really fun at parties...If you're even invited to any.
I mean it’s just a gist of it
I think the implication is that although the spheres had more advanced tech they were still massively outnumbered and worn down. Obviously the harvesters queens function like predatory ants and aren't going to care about their losses as long as they don't outpace their ability to reproduce/grow replacements.
As long as the harvestors had 'enough' of a good tech level, they could still simply overwhelm more advanced but smaller enemies with zerg rushes.
....At least they would be able to if they didn't apparently still use windows millennium edition as their computers operating system (they must have upgraded to at least xp by the time of the sequel >))
@@alias234 Now I understand.
Bad writing. In reality Mercury is used to power anti-gravity propulsion systems, as detailed in instructions to build Vimana’s. Mercury found by every major pyramid and stupa in the world
When she said that thing about 🌍🌎🌏 attacking her.
I kinda wish someone said "sorry we thought u were them"
This would potentially open up a universal alliance with other species to fight a common enemy like in other sci-fi movies or shows plus games; if a sequel is made or when it will be released...
I love the fact that aliens with Russian level IQ's can take over so totally and completely like this and yet still be taken down by cave men basically the fact that the harvesters got this far without issue and then humans take em down is out right a joke when you think about it
And that Advance Technology that they using will teach us how to make more NanoTech Ironman Suit who can take and unlock the power of Infinity Stones
@@CubSATPH can you imagine an iron man suit with energy shields that would be so bad ass🤣🤣🤣
@@raven4k998 yeah yeah aside from that an Ironman suit that capable to wielded and unlock the full potentials of Infinity Stones a perfect definitions for Offense and Defenses that can match up a Celestials but not The One That Above All
That was actually the ending of the novel version (which flowed better than the disjointedness of the movie). Humanity resolved to take the fight to the Harvesters. The alien drone here agreed to help them remove the failsafe in their reverse-engineered weapons and to introduce them to the other races. "She" believed that a race beating two Harvester invasions and killing a Queen would inspire the other races.
This was a seriously clever plot device. It was just too bad the absence of non-returning characters, the meh performance of new characters, and poor taste in writing everything else is what hurt this sequel.

I would like to ask everyone this question. What would have been a better way to continue the story after the first film? One that respected the lore while adding to it?
A film based on the 2nd book. This film takes place after the sequel book.

You need not ask. Of course this is a good sequel...It's too bad that modern day society has moved on from wonderment and openness to partisan politics and narcissism.
If this scene was indicative of the movie, then that would be your answer. The discovery that there were others, and Earth getting inducted into a massive anti-Harvester alliance.
Maybe they’ll create a tv show about the resistance.
“We’re primitive?”
Says the person whose planet got turned into a parking space
I’m still hoping they’ll make a third independent day movie
I wish they make a third one just to see how we take out The Harvesters once for all and establish The Great Interstellar Human Empire

if it has anything to do with Disney.....then it will have to be....a......WOMAN! a WOMAN of an ethnic minority background 🙄
It’ll be awesome if the sphere is the same alien from Oblivion. Their drones are very deadly.
But the ones on Oblivion are evil tho
Destiny
@notYourRUclips Is their any evidence that the Oblivion AI is acting on the orders of another species? It seems like it was acting on its own will when i watched the movie.
different directors
@notYourRUclips The Tet is a mysterious AI that came from outer space and ravage humanity, it's unknown where they came from but most likely isn't serving masters
I love World-Building.
I love it in every Sci-Fi that has rich Lore.
Jurassic Park, Godzilla, & Star Wars.
And I can't deny that I like this World's new Lore.
The first Film had its Alien Invasion and only showed us one Alien Spieces that visited Earth, and now we have new Alien Species in the Franchise.
It's a shame we're never gonna see that now, since Disney owns 20th Century Fox. Lol
Yea I REALLY like the lore. I still think about the potential for this movie. I really like the African rebel soldier that fought back the aliens. Would love a whole movie based on that story.
Even if this sequel will never have the same classic status as the original movie, the main thing I can appreciate out of it is the attempt to build on the whole lore behind those aliens that invaded in the original by establishing their queen and everything. Not things that were really important to know in the original, but just interesting to know.
Along with just the fact that they even tried to give us a sequel when they did, even a passible one, knowing how uncertain the future of this film series is now since Disney bought out Fox.
God please! I WANT A ONE LAST RIDE! I WATCH THE FIRST MOVIE EVERY CHRISTMAS! IT'S A CLASSIC!
wtf they ripped off Destiny for this one. As a player, I did feel an odd sense of protection towards this giant space-ball, but its so weird to see it in this movie.
That's so true lol
ah darn. and here I thought I'm not the Only Guardian-player reviewing here. [uneasily chuckling]
Not at all. to me I'll stick back to the [Traveler] back in the verses of Destiny....
This one seems....Crude. younger. Empty on the Fundamental scale.
I'm not a fan of Destiny, but I had to agree that they could've just bring an organic lifeform instead of a sentient robot, which is as realistic as Transformers.
where is this coming from?....
The Sphere and it's people lost their war with the Harvesters. The Sphere had alien robot tech writen all over it.
This is cool because out all other species they attacked, humans stood a chance and pulled a dub.
waiting next movies independence day
Same ;(
The way the sphere speaks "we fought them for thousands of years" makes me think they are fighting a war of attrition for a long time
Imagine those aliens working for Darkseid they can replace the parademons
You mean the father/motherboxes?
In the first movie they already established that the entire alien civilization existed on their mothership, which was destroyed. So this whole movie makes no sense.
I thought the actor that played data in Star Trek the Next Generation I thought his character died in Independence Day part 1 at the End
I wish this movie hadn’t flopped so we could’ve gotten Part 3. It would’ve been amazing to see them take the war to the aliens.
Independence Day could have been a TV series similar to Stargate. Shame they went this route, wasted.
1:30 This is one of the most obvious words spoken I have heard in a film for years. Painful.
So I'm pretty sure they defeated that queen but I think harvesters will still comeback like the orb said it had many queens . And they fought them for thousand of years I'm pretty sure they fought more than 2 harverster maybe 40 to 50.
The Harvester clan look like the ant clan empire, because this clan had many queens, so I think Harvester this alien clan is grand empire.
Bruh good guy Gravital.
Stellaris in a nutshell. your highly advanced tech aliens trying to tech-enlighten primitive worlds.
You said your people has the technology to defeat them, but…you're the sole survivor of your species.
Well, She/He didn't said about Them creating the Tech when It's too late 🗿🗿🗿
Her species lost thousands of year ago, in that time she created the refugee planet and saved perhaps hundreds of species from extiniction, many of whom may be space fairing themselves, in that time the sphere could have developed technology in cooperation with those other species that can fight and defeat Harvester mother ships, within reason, humans bring a different level of thinking in its engagements with the enemy, a perspective the other species may lack.
Oh, Didier Raoult 😂

The script writers ... how bad can we make it ? The director YES !

Damn thats our girl Jenna from Good Mythical Morning!
Honestly, if I was the queen, I wouldn't of sent one solitary ship to the planet, especially seeing how they defeated the other mother ship. I would of honestly sent an entire fleet of ships far greater than the last, while positioning the main queen ship on the moon, and using that as a base, while the fleet are positioned in key points around the planet.
I guess it requires ton of energy to move one mothership and maybe they need to spread across the galaxy rather than put all ships on 1 planet

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the title of this video? It's completely ridiculous to match the ridiculousness of this movie lol.
Yes....yes it is.
I wonder if one of those civilizations that are on the refugee planet are the last known species of Krypton period that might actually make an interesting sequel to Justice League for all the countless civilizations that Darkseid has destroyed are on a hidden Refugee planet where their other beings are teaching the refugees to design weapons thanks to their Ally the high father as well as Orion and they're teaching these civilizations to build weapons that are capable of killing parademons and one major weapon that could easily destroy Darkseid before he makes his final move on Earth
The giant pokeball if made by apple was pretty cool. As was the "aliens" having true fear for essentially the most advanced thing in the world, knowing it threatened to stop them as long as one could literally do anything. And the whole refugee planet thing was a great way to keep things going. Also we saw both a queen and ground battles in this film, which was set up (the ground battles/actually fighting outside ships) and was pretty cool. The idea they are just harvesting and taking and that they get to be truly monstrous without any sympathy bs was also a better direction given what most modern stuff likes to do. The "disaster film" part also really was not a huge focus of the film. Yes that part occured. However in the original it is purposely ongoing, done in longer length and drives the plot too. In this movie it's shown, it's fun, and the film pretty much moves on. The ship leaves in the end, Whitmore does the hard job to save the world 20 years later. The hate for this movie is just beyond belief. Even David Levinson's father had a fun side role, and Jeff Goldblum's "DLevinson" character's intelligence is on full display and if anything, makes more sense in this film than the original (including being pointed out how he wouldn't take the drawing situation seriously as a flaw, but saying not to shoot at the alien giant ball ship without taking a moment too, even if anyone can get why that'd be a gray area).
HER PEOPLE LOST THE WAR..SO HWO HER TECHNOLGOY WORK

The movie might've been a joke, but you can't deny the chilling soundtrack behind it.
I don’t know why more people don’t like this movie. Sure it’s not the best movie out there, but it’s as fun as the previous one.
A lot of people take these movies a little too serious sometimes. Sometimes a fun alien action movie is just that... A fun alien action movie lol. Grab some popcorn, and a drink. Relax and enjoy.
I'm afraid I didn't like the first movie either. Very derivative of other films.
The Sphere must of got away from the Harvesters. She traveled across the galaxy for centuries.
She have the codes in her memory core.
I'm sure this scene was inspired by the 1950's movie where a moon mission discovers a buried sphere that turns out to be a tiny craft with jellyfish-like alien scientists escaping persecution. They start to share their knowledge with humans before a larger craft comes and the sphere commits suicide rather than be captured. Does anyone remember the title?
It's Jenna from GMM! Any mythical beasts here?
It's rather pathetic how people complain about the old stuff getting hashed out like this. Have those people ever tried to focus more on *"CREATIVE PRIORITIES"* instead of criticism? Films and Politics don't go together anyway

Right, every time I need some molten nickel and iron to power my spaceship I don't bother rounding up asteroids and heating them. No, I go to a planet with a high tech civilization who will fight me for thousands of years and try to steal the core. I'd hate to be around when one of these alien queens decides she wants to do something the hard way.
