- Safely hidden in the void of inner-space is the Kryptonian city of Argo - saved by the scientist Zaltar (Peter O'Toole, Lawrence of Arabia, Caligula) and powered by the magical Omegahedron. But now the city's vital power source has been lost, and only one courageous person can retrieve it! Her name is Kara...on Earth she is known as Supergirl (Helen Slater, The Legend of Billie Jean, City Slickers). Standing in her way is the evil sorceress Selena (Faye Dunaway, Bonnie and Clyde, The Towering Inferno) who has taken control of the fantastic power source. With her now super-powered black magic, the villainess is bent upon nothing less than world domination! Can Supergirl retrieve the Omegahedrom before it is too late?

no. 1984 was my year for movies and far be it me to turn a blind eye to Supergirl...let alone the presence of Peter O'Toole.
I love it.
No...there are about 12 other people who like it lol I never saw it when I was a kid in the early wonderful 80s, but am curious to watch it now. I mean Peter O'Toole and Faye Dunaway looking ravishing in a Superman spinoff?? I'm there!!

Helen Slater was great as Supergirl.
She Portrayed Supergirl in 1984 Movie before Melendy Britt voiced She-Ra in the Secret of the Sword (1985),Terri Hawkes Voiced Sailor Moon in the anime movies and Tara Strong Voiced Bubbles in The Powerpuff Girls Movie (2002) with Red Boots, Blonde Hair,Red Cape, Blue Clothes, X-Ray and Heat Vision
this is proof that the superman theme can make any trailer better than the actual movie.

I hated this movie when I was a kid. It doesn't look as bad as I remember but still seems
off to me. At least it's not as bad as Bayturtles or Howard the Duck. It looks closer to Superman 4
level of disappointment.
Why wasn't this movie released by Warner Bros?
There was a deal. Something to do with the Salkinds. I think.
I prefer this Movie and the 2015-2022 Series. Not with the 2024 movie Feminist version.
Helen Slater is Supergirl I do like the actress who played TV's Supergirl...........I'm not sure why she didn't appear in the Flash movie she should have.
