I love how Annie "erases" the misspelled word by rubbing Helen's hand.
Well thats how Helen knows she spell it wrong
It's so adorable when she is dreaming and still moving her fingers
I’m so glad you found that scene adorable as I did!
Sleep talking ☺️
Oh I did realize she was dreaming
I will never forget "It has a name." A very powerful "I get it" moment. This was a very good movie.
Neither will i.It is wonderful when Ann says"It has a NAME".Helen doesn't understand yet but she 's eager to learn and even makes signs in her sleep.Awesome!
It must be so wonderful to be committed to something like this.
YES but you have to be extremely patient, firm ,strong not to cry when the girl throws tantrums or rolls on the floor and perseverant to repeat words again and again maybe a hundred times per day like Ann surely did ,and to teach table manners, sewing, stringing beads and many other activities..and you have to read a lot of books and give the child time..it is not a single job but a PASSION ,an appeal. And Anne was one in a million.I would have liked to teach a blind child but i don't know if i would have her patience.Maybe i would have failed..
And, I would add : this was , in all likelihood, a karmic relationship!!!!!
The circumstances of Hellen Keller's birth, parents, education seem to me to be what the two characters planned for their lives on earth, before time even began....
Most people don't have passion: This was driven by pure passion.
@@seanprater8652 yes I know right.
That little smile she had when the woman told her to come our, too.
No doubt about it. Patty Duke and Anne Bancroft deserved their Oscars. (Only, Helen isn't a supporting role. ;)
Goddamn, Anne Sullivan was a fricken genius
Kris Sweeting she was taught finger spelling from Laura Bridgman
Samiah Fields holy balls! Yet another Wikipedia safari for me to spend all night venturing :P This would make a great Drunk History episode lolol
You think you can really damn God? I got my money on God to win that battle. I don’t think that’s going to work out well for you.
Helen plays her role great, shes a great actress
Aw. She was "talking" in her sleep at the end.
0:57 she looks so pretty close up
Who, Patty? Yes, she was very beautiful!
Nope ugly just like you.
@@teacup251 what
And that's what you were focusing? Notice her acting?
Your right she does look nice! I wish she didn’t die 😢
Patty Duke will always be my favorite actress.
I always liked her cousin Cathy, she lived most everywhere from Zanzibar to Barclay Square.
Anne Bancroft ❤
When they first meet & Helen's brother looks as if he's just playing ,he actually did sign the word "cancel"
Patty said in her autobiography "Call Me Anna", that was the first time she saw a chick hatching, and a still photo shows the director breaking the egg open, and Anne Bancroft is disturbed by it ...
Patty was only 14!
Anne Sullivan looks like Supernanny up close!
*"The mystery of language."*
I love that movie
S a r a h g o r m a n
I love it
I feel sorry for Helen because she doesn’t know that every body is trying to help her
Cannot imagine spelling every word of every text of every subject to get through an Ivy League college....wow
Sewing? You couldn’t go with knitting? At least that would have been more accurate! lol
Why did Helen Keller try to eat Bird?!
What happened when she wanted her to spell Crochet?
She probably figured it was too challenging and the word sewing would be easier at the moment
She didn't know how to spell it. You can see in the film she's reading up on the proper spelling of certain words.
Yeah, she didn't know how it was spelled. She was saying "C-R-O-S-H" and stopping because she wasn't quite sure. As we know, there's no 'S' in crochet.
We have left-handed and right-handed and here comes my main theme:
Mantao
Makan atap
That thimble in the mouth thing was pretty weird
Helen did something similar but with the key instead.
I think they casted people too old for these parts .... Helen was supposed to be 6/7 and Annie was supposed to be 20...Helen looks 11 and Annie looks 40 ....
mightybfool C anne looks 20 but Helen is WAY to old she was 14 during the filming
Yeah, but if you look at old pictures of Helen as a child, you can tell she was a tell and strongly built girl. It matched the description of her as a child, but I do agree that for the movie's sake, they probably should've cast a younger actor if they wanted to get the effect across better.
Too old or not, I still think these ladies did a wonderful job!
An actress that young could never have coped.
@@annmitchell4663 they would never be able to make a movie like this today because there's not the depth in the actors or the actresses.
What is that in the mouth of anne sullivan??????
A thimble
Bancroft won an Oscar for this, but in not her best performance at all. Horrible movie. Everybody yelling all the time.
The most stupid movie I ever saw. Disgusting.
That little smile she had when the woman told her to come our, too.
Patty Duke Will always be my favorite actress.
