Omg I was sitting in my friend's car one night, smoking cigarettes. Then she played this song and said it's Chicane. And that's all I remember. Can't remember the title so I clicked on the first one. We were so clueless back then, but twenty years later, we're okay and we still communicate. She lives in Singapore and I live in Switzerland. Worlds apart, but this song brings me back to that night when life was so simple and chaotic all at once, two college kids studying design in Manila. And here we are, twenty years later. Man, it's been a great ride, so much changed in this school of life. Maybe in the next 20 years, I'll listen to this again...

I remember this coming out in 2000, I only passed my driving test in winter 1999 and come the summer, myself and my friends were out and about a lot to and from raves/parties, you know the kinda thing, and I remember Pete Tong playing this one a lot when it came out, was a massive Chicane fan at the time anyway, but this was by far the best tune I ever heard from the guy, and even now nothing comes close in my view, apart from Playing Fields I guess, but that's an obvious choice, still, I love this song so much,

( radio always on in there for the nurses more than the babies im sure ) as my daughter fought for her life,to be taken out by a doctor more concerned of the cost on the nhs than of her care and survival. noone believed i heard that and nurses looking after her were also mortified im sure too when his words took her. they all came to her funeral. ( the nurses) year 2000 this song always reminds me of my angel.

For those interested, I created my own version of this song using just the lyrics from the OG track, and then building it all around that and the Led Zeppelin drum sample used throughout, and given the track an orchestral movement right in the middle of the break down. I always felt this song was way too short, too brief, so I extended it without having it sound pony. I hope you give it a listen, not trying to take anything away from Chicane, just adding to his incredible songs just a little bit more spice, that's it, enjoy!
