Diesel engines in Trucks and heavy vehicles usually have huge pistons, pistons with larger diameter means more torque, or so I've heard. Even SUVs, example: Mitsubishi Pajero 3.2l 4 cylinder Isuzu MU-X 3.0l 4 cylinder Bigger Trucks have 9.0l to 13.0l 6 cylinders!!
big like for the IVECO
Fun fact about the iveco daily. They use the same front doors as the Renault Master . Part of a deal they made in 1994 since the 2nd generation.

3.0L for 4 cylinders? crazy
They also make (or used to make until recently) a 3.0 CNG, which is pretty much a transvestite diesel that underwent a transition to a petrol.
What do you think of trucks? 13 liter or more for 6 cylinders. By the way, even Porsche made a 3,0 liter 4 cylinder engine in the last 944 and 968.

Toyota's biggest SUV, the Mega Cruiser (humvee lookalike), used a 4.1L I4 engine.

I've always liked Dailys, but this new engine (from cca 2016?) has a horrible startup sound, like it's hollow or soomething.

Do you mean if it's Euro 6 (using AdBlue)?
