As soon as I heard the song...I couldn't get it out of my head for days...every rhythm...every syllable...it goes straight into the brain and the blood...fighting back is pointless...
I was born in Tehran, Iran. Every time that I play this song I pray for my old country that is now in the hands of evil. John Lee and Santana, a match made in heaven.
Il n'y a que la guitare de Santana et la voix de john lee hooker, il y a aussi cette formidable fusion entre le blues et la musique latine voire cubaine avec les percussions
John Lee Hooker... His voice sound like some wonderful antiquity, the one that rarely gets to be heard... And his and Santana 's "Chill out"? It always had that familiar sound to me, even when I heard it for the first time
John Lee Hooker e Carlos Santana.
Probably the best for decades. Still remember when he was in blues brothers and even Pepsi commercials. He did it all , let alone the artists that were privileged to perform with him.
People in America are so lucky to be in country that has the best blues music and many great blues artists I grown to love today. RUclips is the closest to enjoying every bit of awesome music. Sad in Australia most people only pop music.
Have gone to see and listen to Carlos Santana and his various band versions over five times, live in concert outdoors. Used to have a ton of his albums when it was the days of vinyl. Always loved his music. John Lee Hooker a blues legend of course. It ain’t rocket science that “things going to change”. Look out your window and the weather especially this winter day December 28, 2020 in San Diego California. The other day it was a sunny and warm 78° just a week ago, today we get our first rain of any importance. In the meantime it’s in the 50s degrees F Fahrenheit range and chili chili.
Jlh the smoothest with Santana and Van Morrison he fits every rhythm as long as it's blues.... he's a Master of his own. Dimension and has the best socks are you kidding me?... he'll make a woman feel guilty even when he's wrong.... that's an innate voice of reasoning.... talk about a gift... a voice that runs something
Superb, MUSIC = a collection of sounds that once blended becomes greater than the sum of it's component parts. Sounds morph into emotions and feelings. This song pulls on my heart strings, same with Healer.
The chord progression of this piece is identical to the chord progression of Johann Bach’s C-Minor Passacaglia. This piece is not in triple metre like a Passacaglia,, but this Chill Out is also in C-Minor. I’m not sure the similarities are entirely coincidental. Bach’s C-m progression, played in 4/4, is wonderfully adaptive for jazz improvisations. Once more, the idea that “things are going to change” is completely up-ended by the unchanging nature of the progression. I love the irony of this.
this song kept me motivated trough life! hahaha, my mate said is a sad depressing song.., wtf? its life it uplifted me many times, i learned it to late in life this song.
I was 15 years old when I first here this song, now I'm 30 in the most difficult time of my life so close to death alone for days and steel believe.. one new Day things gonna change
@smartalek180 what an amazing message.. this is like god ask me . God bless you for this message. Steel fight in the darkness is 3 years now but im still alive and still believe.. thanks again for this reply 🙏🙏🙏
As soon as I heard the song...I couldn't get it out of my head for days...every rhythm...every syllable...it goes straight into the brain and the blood...fighting back is pointless...

So great...Carlos' playing is beautiful. John Lee...OMG...such a great voice. The melding of Latin and Blues is something. This song is a masterpiece.

Un blues clásico maravilloso, fino y sofisticado. John Lee Hoocker y Carlos Santana una gran pareja en el blues ... como pocas.
Jlh the smoothest with Santana and Van Morrison he fits every rhythm as long as it's blues.... he's a Master of his own. All those years ago at Ronny Scotts, London, John Lee Hooker.
