Ovaltine, which had to be made with milk, defined hot cocoa when I was growing up. It was a special treat I would get when I was a good boy. I didn't get a lot of Ovaltine.
If they still make Ovaltine I’m going to try it.

He was just saying the flavor is the same.
So if you put hot cocoa mix into cold milk it does not dissolve… instead it firms little lumps of chocolatey deliciousness… that float to the top… my favorite brand is land o lakes… but as a kid we got a canister of Swiss miss or nestle… I have also mixed a packet of cocoa into hot coffee instead of milk or water…
Maybe they add something to it to help it dissolve.
Milkshakes are so expensive nowadays, I might just buy a home milkshake maker and make my own with cheap Kroger ice-cream.
Yes they are! Much cheaper to make your own.
@@2centchickExcept I use Häagen-Dazs ice cream. My favorite is to slice up strawberries into some sugar and let thems set for 10 minutes. Then I mix them into the vanilla Häagen-Dazs ice cream with an added cap full of rum. It's heavenly. I'm so spoiled.
It's expensive, but probably not more than fast food shakes which don't hold a candle to this wonderful, homemade shake. Someone who is a fan of malt can always add some if they wish.

Now this maybe what I miss most - shakes/mixers/blizzards/frappucinos whatever - I would give the world LOL. Wacky thought: Do you like when ice cream or a shake melts so you can almost consume like icy soup or do you only like it when it is harder/more frozen? While I love it frozen, there is nothing like icy ice cream soup! hehehe I do like the DQ hot cocoa blizzard - it does not taste like hot cocoa flavor but it is pretty good. Then again it has been a few years so it may have degraded in quality.
I’m not a fan when ice cream or shake gets soupy.
I'm weird, I guess. I would get extra empty cups to share.
