    Can you put links to the parts like tank and what cost is?

  • @mtscott
    @mtscott Год назад +1

    Rear and front shock springs are the biggest difference to handling. Then fork brace.
    Seat, lower pegs and higher bars for comfort.
    Bigger tank for range.
    Then…it all gets a big discretionary with minor improvements (tyres excepted).
    I’m about $5,000 in. But I’ll be keeping this bike for life.

    I came up with about $4000+ in parts and upgrades from that list.

      Wheels and tires $1200..seat $179 to $250 .. bars and mirrors area $300 ... Then windshield $150 tops. Lights and Vapor dash $300. Fork brace $100..braided lines and pads $150. Switches $200? Cheap plastic bash plate.. $100? Exhaust $500 and carb kit $400. Fender and tank $300 or so... You're in the ballpark 😂 I think at least $3800 but need shipping and tax too.. so it's a $6000 bike now and hopefully works perfectly 👍

    Hello there , I have an opportunity to buy this motorcycle from a guy who says he's your good friend , I don't want to say his name here but his listing says it has 3000 miles , does that sound right to you ??? Or do you remember how many miles we're on it when you put the trail tech vapor on it by any chance or what the actual mileage on the machine was when you sold it ? I haven't gone to look at it yet but it seems like a great bike and if I buy it I plan to ride it to Idaho next year...

    That pipe is way too loud for adventure riding. It’s fine for a 2 hour ride, but putting in 8-12 hour days listening to such a loud exhaust is draining, not to mention really bad for your hearing (40+ years of riding has affected my hearing badly)

    • @UPSHIFT_ONLINE
      @UPSHIFT_ONLINE  5 лет назад

      It's a bit loud for sure. Re-packing it helped quite a bit. But we run ear plugs most of the time regardless. And there are other options that are quieter for the DR.

    Great job with simple mods for the most part. For the cost of a nice evening out with your partner however, you could have done a proper bash plate.. But great job on the over all stuff 👍

      and then spend a ton on ongoing repair and maintenance. If you have the bucks go for it but anything outside of japan is like dating a stripper. Eventually your heart and wallet is going to get broken:) The IRS should have let me claim my last Ducati as a dependent.

    So the 2k bike is only 6k? Reckon that's how it goes. This way you can make it the way you want. Lots of these things apply to new bikes anyway.

    • @UPSHIFT_ONLINE
      @UPSHIFT_ONLINE  5 лет назад +1

      For those types of projects it's better to go further and show options from a media creation stand point. Folks can take what works for them and their budget and run with it from there. Still a lot more affordable than a brand new bike and you are set with the aftermarket parts you need.

    • @lazar2175
      @lazar2175 5 лет назад +5

      This isn't rice, this is comparable to Jeep/4x4 guys in car community.
      The ricers would be squids, the idiots on sportbikes with no gear, revving their bikes to oblivion on red lights and having all kinds of stickers on their bikes/helmets, and also flashy stuff like $150 clutch lever that helps them "go faster"
