I read the Germans retreated because the gassed Russians' skin was chemically burnt, they were bleeding from their eyes and noses, they could only moan, growl and gasp but not speak anymore - in short they appeared like zombies. They were in such an adrenaline rush and shock they did not feel pain anymore and kept on marching even when they were hit by bullets. So the Germans believed, they were actually fighting an army of undead soldiers, which scared them so much they retreated, despite outnumbering the remaining defenders about 20:1.
Look at russian cover of this song by Radio Tapok. It have a very good clip showing this battle. Radio Tapok even sings this song with Sabaton on thier concert in Moscow.

Jan III Sobieski saved Vienna and the Empire of Leopold I Habsburg and did not reimburse the costs of the expedition as promised, and his granddaughter signed the partition of Poland with the Tsar of Russia and the Emperor of Germany
Yeah teargas should be banned for civil use as well as military its not harmless like they say it can certainly kill in the right circumstances. If it needs to be used it should be used only under extreme circumstances.
Does this historic fact make the Hindenburg (leader of German troops of that battle) guilty of the very first war crime of Germany. Gas used by Germany in WW2 also, poison gas grenades and other tear gas grenades used.

@@TouchyReactions Oh it wrecked everything. Snot running down my nose uncontrollably, trying to cough up anything and just empty dry heaves. Had to do full MOPP 4 a few months later as I crossed the berm into Iraq.
Something this song doesn’t depict about this story: the chlorine gas would bind to moisture, causing it to become hydrochloric acid. The men who breathed this in were decaying and melting from the inside out, chunks of flesh falling off their bodies, coughing up chunks of their own lungs. These men knew they were going to die, so, backed into a corner, they made a final push. The Germans thought everything would be dead, but they faced, what they thought, was an army of literal zombies. Out of fear, they retreated, and the Russians began picking them off one by one. The Germans were so panicked, infact, they fell victim to their own barbed wire. The Russians saved their bullets on the barbed wire-trapped Germans and instead used bayonets on them. This all because of one speech from one young soldier, who convinced them all that, if they’re going to die, they’re pulling as many Germans down with them as they can. That same young soldier, during the final push, had a bayonet pushed through his torso, so he looked at the guy who did it, and screamed like a banshee right into his face, spitting chunks and such right onto him. Of course the guy ran, got trapped in barbed wire, and was killed, as the young soldier kept pushing with a WHOLE BAYONET RAN THROUGH HIM Edit: didn’t realize you were going over the history later in this video, my bad
Thanks to the Russian soldiers, they played an important role in this chemical arms race. Read history, after that, they almost began to ban chemical weapons!!! If only nuclear weapons had been banned after Hiroshima and Nagasaki!!!!

I agree with rasungod0, and probably many more who suggested it, that you definitely need to watch Radio Tapoks version of this song. It's a great version, and a fantastic video too
Microphone in the mask, boss. Good stuff.
I couldn't request Sabatons Rorkes Drift, Back in Control and 1648. Also I subbed👍 if you are interested in the History behind the Christmas Truce there's a video called Extra Credit Christmas Truce it does a very good job of retelling the event
Welcome aboard!
@@TouchyReactions It's by Extra History couldn't remember the channel name.
If you wanna check out their song about Lawrence of Arabia, listen to Seven Pillars of Wisdom. Indie Nidel the host of Sabaton History plays T.E. Lawrence in the official music video.
I reacted to it today. I'll have the edited video done today or tomorrow. It will be on Patreon until Dec 19th when it goes to RUclips.
Moral of the story: Don't try to fight men who are just too fucking angry to die
If it needs to be used it should be used only under extreme circumstances.
i find radio tapoks russian translated cover version of the song to be better than the original english version
Does this historic fact make the Hindenburg (leader of German troops of that battle) guilty of the very first war crime of Germany. Gas used by Germany in WW2 also, poison gas grenades and other tear gas grenades used.
it was ww1 german vs a russian stronghold
Thank you for your great reaction to this amazing song!! Like otheres I recommend you to watch Radio Tapok's cover featuring Sabaton! I also, if you are interested in this story, recommend you to watch s short film about this, only 23 min. ruclips.net/video/LNqeZVUkEKA/видео.html I prefer the original version as I understand Russian, but English dubbing is fine too. The story is unusual and filmed by World of Warships. I live about 180 km away from Osowiec (2,5 h drive) but I've never been there before and I plan to go there next Spring. There is not much left of it but now is a must for me to go there.
It's a cool song, but the Russian version is just as good. Sabaton knows how to do things!👍
This is the best way to teach history
Technically many of these people on the both sides were Polish. I'm proud XD
If you think that is bad listen to The Last Stand and do the Sabato History episode about it please
Coat of Arms next !
It's on the list, not sure when I'll get to it.
@@TouchyReactions Thank you ! I love your videos and thank you for your service.
Loving the format with these deep dives. If I could make one small recommendation, turn off the auto-generated subs on the history segment. They're so bad, it becomes a distraction.
Will do
Nice reaction.
Glad you enjoyed it
I, as a Swede, have great respect for Russia. you are our historical brothers before the serpent from the west tries to destroy us.
The have a wireless mic in the mask before he went out
Когда ж эта Европа угомонится и перестанет раз в 100 лет идти всем своим табором на Россию.
Oh yeah!!!!!
Did the gas chamber in 02 at Knox for my basic as a tanker.
Did it clean out your sinuses?
Of course the guy ran, got trapped in barbed wire, and was killed, as the young soldier kept pushing with a WHOLE BAYONET RAN THROUGH HIM
Edit: didn’t realize you were going over the history later in this video, my bad
All good
he does have a mic in his mask.
Oh kinda disappointed the live one wasn't in Moscow
You really should checkout their Own history channel. It's really interesting.
my dad has sinus issues and is sick alot maybe i should tear gas him
Worth a try...lol
There is one short film in youtube made by Wargaming about this event, can you, please, make a reaction to it (it has English subs)?
What is it called?
@@TouchyReactions "Атака мертвецов: Осовец". Короткометражный фильм.

Thanks to the Russian soldiers, they played an important role in this chemical arms race. Read history, after that, they almost began to ban chemical weapons!!! If only nuclear weapons had been banned after Hiroshima and Nagasaki!!!!
7000 vs 100 zombie nutters
You should turn off the captions for the history portion. It's completely incapable of making sense of foreign words and just distracts everyone. Also, you can completely understand the historian Indie, so there is no point to the captions anyway.
Good point. I'll do that going forward.
who ever has done subtitles should be sacked...
The people responsible for sacking the subtitles crew, have been sacked...
That autopronounce is so bad xD Look at it! I love You YT but just be smart. All praise the algorithm but I wish that this algorithm will be smarter. #SkynetAgeAboveU
I guess they were desperate to win ww1
The first and only time Russia won a battle when not massively outnumbering the enemy. 😉
Oh, boy... You should read something about russian-turkish wars.
Говно реакция. Ты вырезал тапка и с начала и до конца.
Радо тапок кавер ,по лутшее будет оригинала ,radio tapok
