I'm not so much a Deegan fan, as much as I'm a fan of a the idea that a girl will show up and put good finishes together so my daughter has someone like her to look up to in racing. My hope for Deegan is more because TJ said quite a bit on DBC when he spotted for her that he thought she would do much better in a car that needed more throttle finesse than trucks. I'm hopeful, but not highly expectant that she'll do better in an Xfinity ride.
I've seen more of Berry, yet feel Hocevar has impressed more, which is pretty concerning considering Berry had some great rides filling in. I'm going Hocevar for Sprint Cup RotY
My eyes also are on the 4 car in Cup. Would like to see them rum consistently top 20 maybe 15 with a surprise here or there. Call me old fashion but I like a short track driver from the East coast South, mid South. He has an experienced Crew Chief. Either way, it'll be fun to watch.
I think you nailed the trucks and Cup picks. Layne Riggs will be driving cup full time in 5 years or less, and Josh Berry has the highest floor of the cup rookies. For Xfinity, though, I think SVG makes the playoffs while I dont trust any of the other rookies to make it, so he'll win ROTY by default.
SVG I think doesn’t dominate but he’s gonna win at least 3 races make the playoffs Hailie Deegan I think will be strong. No wins but I can see a Top 10 or two. I think Josh Berry gets rookie of the year! I think he wins 1 race! I don’t see a deep playoff run but I can see him making it and doing okay! Overall I think this is gonna be one of NASCAR’s greatest seasons yet and I’m here for it
I have no idea who will win ROTY, but my picks are: Cup-Josh Berry -b/c I'm a Ford Fan! Xfinity-Jessie Love -b/c I originally came from the Left Coast also! Trucks-Layne Riggs - b/c I worked with Scott Riggs and appreciate Scott and Layne's hard work ethic!
As for the Cubs series I think the number four car will win a race it's just a matter of all your ducks in a row as for spire Motorsports God only knows if they will win a race this year
I'm pulling for Carson Hocevar, SW Michigan's up-and-coming star! Could his solid 4th place finish in Duel 1 be a hint of what's ahead? I admit I'm biased as he graduated from Gull Lake HS as a classmate of my grandson, Colby Skinner. And I'm a 58 year fan who retired from a 46-year baskeball coaching career in 2011. My father drove in the MARC (old ARCA name) series in the late 50's/early 60's, and was a friend of Tiny Lund, Nelson Stacy, Iggy Katona, Jack Farris, and others. My dad, Tiny Shilts, once qualified Tiny Lund's car for an early Speedweeks race ('59 or '60 or '61). He said it was the most fun he ever had in a racecar! Go Carson!
Trucks im not familiar with any of thos guys, Xfinity itll be SVG just because hes a veteran and will get it fast. And as for cup i think berry has it. He will be the most consistent
With what Hocevar was able to do in the 42 at the end of last year I think he showed he will be able to handle things just fine. Talladega was a good intro for him for what to expect for Daytona this week. I think he will fit in just fine this season.
My ROTY battle is between Hocevar and Berry. I think Berry has the better shot at winning a race. Most likely at a superspeedway or a short track which os where SHR has been good at, and hes got the leadership of Rodney Childers, but I think Hocevar has the raw speed to outpace Berry a lot of weeks and be ahead in the points. So im going yo say Hocevar takes ROTY.
Josh Berry will park that SHR 4 in victory lane. He’s fast, he will be fast consistently and when he has a car that’s capable of winning, he knows what it needs to make it better. He also knows he can beat every single driver in that cup garage. Overlooking the 4 car is a mistake
What do you think about the Rain for sat/sunday? Monday dont look good either, maybe Sunday nite , they got alot of racing for those 2 days. Mother nature sure has a problem with Daytona for sure! I only hope they dont run till just half way! I also saw the 44 car will not be running now? Be safe!
Hey Eric new segment idea for restrictor plate races. Since everyone says they’re wild card races you pic the winner then grab the rest of the top 10 random draw from a hat see how close you are
In the Xfinity series I say SVG at the ripe age of 34, but I think Jesse Love will have a good year. Carson Hocevar should win for cup, but if Berry was with a different team he might get my vote. Hocevar is young, but he is scary good and not intimidated by anything or anyone.
I grew up during the heydays of Michèle Mouton, and always believed that female drivers can be on par with male drivers... but i've lost that belief over the years. I really like Hailee Deegan and she's surely a good driver. But i'm sceptical whether she can become a great driver ...

This season of is be jam-packed full of excitement definitely lots of very talented rookies this year my picks for rookie off the year are trucks going with riggs Xfinity going with Hailie deegan and cup going with Josh Berry definitely gonna be paying close attention to all of the rookies this season
Deegan is kind of at a make or break moment career wise. I think she has to have several good runs. Not just a random top 10 or a couple top 15s but consistently being in the top half of the field. Anything less will really put her future in doubt. The boom or bust take with Hocevar is perfect. I think he is very good but I am still not sure if he can harness it yet, I feel like 1 year in Xfinity would have been good for him but I guess we will see.
Zane Smith While Berry does have the better equipment, Smith will get some extra backing by Trackhouse and I anticipate that boost will give him enough to contend for Top 10s on a semi regular basis at ovals, with his talent at Road Courses along with Daytona and Atlanta being enough to get him the achievement
Honestly I think Kaulig and Spire are going to swap places in the Chevy pecking order this year. Kaulig has obviously been struggling recently, and with the injection of cash and general upward trajectory of the team, I think Spire will make good use of it
