I got my hands on a new Aerodyne JB (export model) back in 2020 and it's absolutely brilliant in every conceivable way. Regent Sounds (Denmark St) special ordered it for me and arranged for me to collect it during lockdowns. It was officially the last one ever sent to Europe. Unfortunately, they no longer make this particular model and now come in only P or J configurations.
Nice video Paul! How did you replace the bridge? Did you have to do additional routing or change neck angle? I have a 00's Aerodyne too, but the curved top seems to complicate the upgrade.
Nah I didn't actually fit it properly although it tightened flat over the route.. I reversed it after the video and actually sold the guitar. I now have a nice high mass bridge for sale!
I own a Dolphine Grey AJB and fitted a Schaller bridge on mine. It does require removing material as the foot print was larger than the factory bridge. I freestyled routed it using a dremel. On the topic of modifications, mine also now has HAZ Lab preamp ala Steinberger with the EMG P splits and J pickups with a battery that lives under the pickguard. Schaller gear tuners wind up the list of mods.
Paul Green, interesting demo and review, I enjoyed it. I have the exact same bass and I've been thinking about installing the Fender High Mass Bridge or the Gotoh High Mass Bridge, how do you like the Fender bridge?
Cheers. The bridge definitely adds some sustain and feels altogether more purposeful. I have a Mike Dirnt Artist Series with the BADASS II bridge which is why I wanted to do something similar for this bass.
I've not really felt a need, I guess its personal preference. For me updating the bridge was a great addition. And I needed the Hipshot drop tuner for a particular band that I play in, otherwise I'd say they are pretty great stock.
Probably to do it properly. I didn't do it properly, it sits over the top of the recess. It play fine and sustain is better but I agree doing it properly would be the way to go.I wasn't 100% committed to it so didn't want to modify the guitar. I'll probably take to a local luthier at some point.

@@tkosho24v1 Nice mods! Did you route a cavity for the battery under the guard?

@@Paul-Green-Bass , thanks for the info. I've always wanted one of those Mike Dirnt basses.
Hi Paul I have one as well one of my favorite all time Jazz Bass. Do you ever feel the need to upgrade the pick ups and pre?

@@Paul-Green-Bass Thanks for getting back to me Paul is that a Bad Ass II bridge?
@@mixc8 it’s the Fender High Mass Bridge, basically their take on the Badass II after Leo Quan stopped making them.
Did you need to do any routing to fit the hi-mass bridge? The original bridge is smaller and slightly recessed into the body.

Volume? Can't hear your comments.
Apologies - I'll try to improve this in future videos. It seems OK on my devices but will pay closer attention to this!
@@Paul-Green-BassYou just need a lavalier mic 🤔
