Lovely video Phila. According to the law, you can only teach in China if you have a Bachelor’s degree and a TEFL certificate. If any company/school says you can teach without those, they’re putting you at risk. YOU WILL BE ARRESTED!
Phila B No problem. I remember when I started out, I wanted to consult you but then I think you were in New York?? So I just decided to consult Naledi Mtonjana instead because she was still in Korea.
Very informative video, babe. Short and to the point. You also look stunning, as always! Just to add to the conversation...you do not need a TEFL to teach at a private institution in Korea (found that out after getting one- luckily it was a cheap online one). I think this is NB for people who want to teach abroad on a tight budget. Also, I heard that you can teach in Cambodia w/o a degree (no one quote me on that though). Finally, people shouldn't shy away from wanting to teach at a private institution in Korea. They often get a bad rep, but if you do your homework, you can get a pretty sweet deal.
I love this Lesego thank you so much for sharing! And yessss I did say you don't need a TEFL for hagwons/private schools...i did not do one nam! Still don't have a TEFL lol and I'm planning on coming back!
You're so gorgeous haybo!!!!!! Also, I'm doing my TEFL course with i-to-to and they almost always have specials for their courses and they have like a two day practical course. We're gonna need more videos ke sisi and vlogs and and and thanks for sharing.
I love you Lil Miquela's bassfraaand! LOL! How much did you pay for your TEFL? And the practical classes are ALWAYS a great idea! They prepare you soooo much for the actual job! How cheap are their specials??
@@philab7393 when I bought my package they had a 75% off special so I got the biggest package (everything) for just under R5000 and now the same course is like around R7000. And the full price is R14 999. So I think I scored pretty good. Lil Miquela needs to get me a job 😭😂
I just subscribed and I found this to be so relevant as im doing my last year uni and im so scared of not doing anything after I get my degree like with this high unemployment rate in our country. Thank you do much for relevant content sis will definetly look these up ❤🙌
Hey Saneh!!! Congrats on completing your degree!!! Agggh don't be scared too much (I understand though with how things are in SA right now) but trust that things always work out! And also, think bigger than just the "conventional" path! I'm so glad this is relevant to and for you!!!

PHILA!! ❤️❤️❤️ 1) I rewinded the first 3 three seconds a couple of times 'cause I tripped on you speaking Korean. Like I know you could speak it friend but I've never actually heard you before. So dope sis. 2) This video is super informative and more people definitely need to hear this - getting to university sometimes is the last thing in matriculants' minds (maybe due to time, costs or lack of belief in tertiary education ACTUALLY securing the bag) and making money is the real goal. All the best with your channel fam!

Tip number 2 is definitely my next goal, the only thing that puts me off about studying abroad with limited funding is having limited hours on a student visa to work on the side for extra coins. Which organisations would you recommend for au-pairing? The ones I came across in SA for USA had an age limit of 25 or 26 I think, humph😫 ! I can't wait to see more content on your channel, this is gold 😍😍😍
Siyaaaa!!! Girrrl I know the feeling ey, but I guess the most ideal scenario would be to try secure a full bursary ( I know it's easier said than done) or even get those dog walking and babysitting apps..not sure if that would count as working hours...or even jobs online? Like teaching online, answering surveys etc? I'd definitely recommend InterExchange or Cultural Care!! I think the age limit thing is because of govt/immigrations policies, not necessarily the agencies. Busy editing this week's video as we speak! I appreciate your support so much!! Thank you
Kanya Jack thank you for watching! Not much info ey... I just know of the best company to work for online, it’s called VIPKID...never really looked into online teaching but maybe I should!
