I loved the comedic touches of this show! Katherine chasing Bree around the room, while the audience watches. I once read that Marcia Cross had a difficult time playing the comedic scenes, as she was more into drama, but she always proved to be flawless. The dynamic between Katherine and Bree was both comedic and dramatic right from season 4 with the famous lemon meringue pie feud! Interesting enough, Dana Delany was the original choice for Bree Van de Kamp. She declined the role as she felt it was too similar to her role in Pasadena.
I think Bree was a really bad person to Catherine. When Bree was going through a rough stage, Catherine was there for Bree, when Catherine was going through a rough patch, Bree just fired her. Bree wrote a recipe book using Catherine recipes and never mentioned Catherine name, taking into account she even didn't know how to cook some of those things, also the fact that she took Catherine designed cake and included it into her portfolio without asking Catherine whether she could use it.
Yes, rewatching this made me think that even if she wasn't going to marry Mike that was still HER cake. She designed it for her own wedding, maybe she could of met someone new and used the cake for it. But no, Bree just took everything and never gave credit for anything.
@@borisairay6719 that's unfair the cake wasn't Bree's fault she didn't know Katherine designed it for her own wedding she thought it was a new design it was a simple misunderstanding. I get Katherine was angry over it but she was out of line trying to destroy it and ruin their clients wedding and their company's reputation. Bree did try and talk to Katherine about her behaviour but she was in denial you can't help someone who won't help themselves or refuses to see they're over the edge
Bree needed to be stern with Katherine, after not taking matters seriously and seeking help, since Katherine's behavior was unpredictable, at best, and altogether detrimental to the business. Also, Bree rounded up everyone to protect Katherine from everything that happened in Season 4. And, you've got to remember how hard Bree pushed to keep Katherine as partner when Orson demanded to be in that position. They both leaned on each other and provided for one another
At this point, Katherine was beyond any help that Bree could have offered her. This was evidenced by her extreme reaction to a cake that Bree prepared for their business client. Bree had no prior knowledge that this could have affected Katherine on such a personal level. Prior to this, Bree put Katherine on sick leave so that she could take care of herself. She chose to believe Katherine when she said she was better. While Bree and Katherine were had a heated rivalry and mean competitive steak, in this situation, Bree did everything she could to help her friend. Katherine nearly sabotaged Bree’s business, firing her wasn’t a personal decision, it was a business one. I’m sure one that Bree didn’t want to make.
god i love both these ladies they're both such good actresses and both so stunning they never age even now Marcia's 58 and Dana's 64 they both look exactly the same
