Eric, I just want to thank you for this solid video full of great advice. I just pulled the trigger on an AP Royal Oak Chronograph (25860ST) for the pristine condition and perfect size (39 mm) for my wrist. All the best to you and your family, from the co-founder of RedBar Denver, MBB
LOL. If he knows it's important to people, probably because they are afraid of getting stuck with a fake, then he'd go thru this "easy" process and get his watches he's selling re-registered and with a box.
I think any serial number at this point with an offshore doesn’t matter the watch game is sizzling like you said Eric and watches are going past the moon to the stratosphere with no doubt. Full steam ahead
Bought my partially Iced out AP ROO and can't be happier with it. Only thing that bothers me is the depriation curve. What do you think Eric, will my AP ROO "Navy" white dial start climbing? White faced watched usually tend to ...like my RLX Explorer II.
After 1 year and half of wait I received my 15202st at the official AP boutique. L séries...those latest dials are just awesomely, too bad I can’t post some pics or vids here!
Good video yet again Eric! When you say about ideally not buying an AP too old and not to go older than an F serial what age are we actually talking about here? Also is their an issue with the reliability of these watches if you are advising to stay away from an older watch? Never heard you having these concerns with an older Rolex.
Thanks for your reply. Interesting to hear that you are of the opinion Eric has questioned the reliability of these watches before . Totally puts me off buying one. Hopefully we may get clarification from Eric himself but until then I wouldn’t go near them.
Interesting to hear that you can get replacement papers. I don't know if any other makers do that. It would seem to make it too easy for sellers of fakes to get them.
Hey Eric, looks like you filmed this episode at Brickell Mall. Was there last year. Very nice and open atmosphere with beautiful shops and restaurants. The Royal Oak comes in many flavors and sizes and actually looks good with a rubber strap on. More of sporty look but they are expensive. More so than some Rolex models. Come to think of it, I think I saw Serena Williams wearing one when she was playing against Bianca Andrescue at US Open on TV a few weeks ago. Perhaps one day, I'll be able to afford one for my collection.
Hi. I bought a H series 15400 on bracelet with silver dial for 29k with box only. Then I spend 1850 (1000 for black dial) to do service with change dial to black. What you think?
I went to the AP store in Vegas...Abdel.He showed me the tourbillion 185k...I fell in love with the Royal Oak. 33mm...with diamonds...it wasn’t automatic...so 37mm is my choice. No diamonds
Hi Eric Your video content are very informative. Keep up the great work. I am in the market for a Rolex Platinum Daytona, and trying to decide between the regular Platinum Daytona and the one with the baguette diamond dial. My AD willing to give me 20% off msrp. Can you please give me advices on the discount amount and which one is more collectable. Thanks Eric.
Hi Eric, you are the rock star. Great video - thank you. Would be awesome if you could do a clip about GP, JLC, Blancpain 1735 Grande Complication and Breguet XXII. These brand are one of the best and very underrated. The black ceramic GP Laureato is one of the most beautiful watches on the market imo. Quality and design like a PP nautilus, but just 20% of the price.
Eric I just bought a 26405ce ceramic after watching ur review . As for aging and depreciation, is it costly to maintain as age goes on aps? And would this watch price depreciate a lot in the future ?
You'd be insane to spend that kind of money for an AP Montoya. Historically, NONE of F1 pilots tribute watches have hold up well over decades. It's gonna be a blood bath.
Hey Eric great vid as usual! You are in my favorite spot in Miami 🙂. That’s the hotel where I’m always staying with my wife! We are actually shopping for our new condo there. Building across the street.....SLS condos. Can’t wait to move down there, we LOVEEE Miami. Keep up with great work!
Sorry Eric I don’t agree about the box and papers. Without B&P how can a buyer be sure that the watch isn’t stolen. Who loses the box and paperwork on a 20k+ watch? It’s nuts. Also what’s with the “crispy” lingo?
You should always verify a serial number with AP before buying. Sub 50k watches can be perfectly replicated in China for 500 usd and I mean perfect every gem gear and spring on the back and front is an exact copy. Only more complex watches that cost around a million don’t have replicas so anything under 50k you need to really check. Heck these rep sites that can be found on reddit seconds will even sell you a perfect box and papers for 200 usd. You need to verify the numbers the papers and box alone mean nothing.
Ummm if box & papers affects the price about $800 plus a trip to the AD & waiting for the archive ... then why not put in your ads whether or not it has box & papers. Then you wouldn’t be getting “dmed all the time” with people asking ..
He’s got a good point regarding the obsession for box and papers. However- when a watch DOESN’T have them (industry term- naked) it’s difficult to verify authenticity or whether the watch has been stolen. If you are buying from a reputable dealer that you trust has already authenticated the watch and confirmed it isn’t stolen - then box and papers are no big deal. If you are buying a watch from someone you don’t know (forums, street, shady dealer) then box and papers are a must in my opinion. It’s all relative depending on the seller. I would buy a watch with no box and papers from some people and certainly not from others. Be careful...
Eric i m in love with rolex daytona..but im jobless poor guy..but it says everything is fair in love and war..should i rob the bank or banks or should i get it from u as my birthday gift ..i think these are the only options i have...m sure u dont want me to rob the bank n thinking about the 2nd option...so dont think too much just listen to your heart....
If does not have papers, then how you will justify that the watch and the machinery inside is all real and belong to the same model and not a counterfeit watch???? Plz don’t say come see my showroom bla bla bla.give a valid reason brother
With such a high calling price, it should comes with proper box and paper. I agree without the 2 does not validate the watch genuinity but at least it shows that the watch is not stolen. Seller who flip it for x2 price ought to have the 2 items. For vintage watches of more than 20yrs or more could be understood without it. I have a friend bought a pre-owned Rolex Sub no box & paper and send in to Rolex. Rolex SC claimed the watch is stolen and never return the watch.

Good advice. Price and condition indeed. Too many used watches today are overpriced and over polished. Thanks as always Eric.

LOL. If he knows it's important to people, probably because they are afraid of getting stuck with a fake, then he'd go thru this "easy" process and get his watches he's selling re-registered and with a box.

Im a box and papers type of guy. The watch alone gives me the feeling of unfulfillness. Im kinda picky about that.

So, as long as it has a mint octogone bezel, young, box + papers, warranty, and price, then ur good!
